Oh my god.
At least it wasn't a passenger plane.
Edit#
Come on people, any loss of life is tragic. Please use this time to support families who lost loved ones.
3 pilots on jet and 4 other riders
That doesn’t look survivable. How terrible.
WDRB showed theexplosion video . No one on board could have survived.
I heard on the LV scanner that two "10-80s" had been noted (using "noted" because I don't remember the exact context"). That code can mean a deceased person, but has also been used to describe explosions. In this case, sadly, either could be true. UPS says three crew on board.
The only consolation is that it was a UPS plane, so it probably only had two people on board. Still terrible and my heart goes out to the families of the deceased, but I would be lying if I didn't say I was a little relieved when I found out it wasn't a passenger flight.
Holy shit!
RIP to those lost.
Does anyone know how this happened?
I've heard that there was one burn victim recovered from the site so far.
UPS plane crashed.
How the hell does anyone survive being near that
Looks like an engine exploded as they were taking off. The roof of the industrial building across the street from the runway is scraped, so they at least got off the ground.
There’s engine debris on the runway.
Worst time too… that’s the shitty thing about aviation. No amount of experience will save you from such an accident in low altitude..
Smoke cloud over the river 😢
Too many plane crashes since January 20, 2025. Adjusts tin foil hat
It’s not a conspiracy theory; they’ve been constantly attacking federal employees, including air traffic controllers. So many people in essential public safety roles are overstressed, overworked (their teams are understaffed thanks to DOGE and other Project 2025 efforts), and currently going on a month of being unpaid.
EDIT: I’m replying to a comment about the increase in aviation incidents overall. I’m not saying this specific incident had anything to do with ATC. A lot of people seem to have missed that.
I'm going to piggy back off of this and remind people of the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio in 2023 that was carrying toxic chemicals. It derailed because they cut costs and ran longer and longer trains.
The train company set fire to the spilled chemicals, against the recommendations of the manufacturer of the chemical, poisoning the people in the town and the land, hoping to wipe the town off the map so in the future they wouldn't have to slow down when going through that section of rail.
Unless regulated and criminally charged, every single company will inevitably choose profits over ethics.
This is one of the biggest fireballs I’ve ever seen… Jesus.
Was it during takeoff? That's massive fireball. I feel like it was fully loaded with fuel.
WLKY reports it was aUPS cargo plane with 12 hours worth of fuel so that’s probably why it’s such a big area of impact
My kid was in the tower. So glad she’s ok.
This looks like a cloud but it is the smoke seen from Clarksville
Called a buddy after the emergency alert went out. He said he saw the whole thing. An engine caught fire during takeoff, but apparently they were past the point of no return and had to get in the air. Shortly after there was an explosion, don't know if that was it coming back down or something prior. It was a cargo plane

So... to the people confused on how jet fuel could melt steel, this is how.
I literally just left Stooges with food a minute or so before that happened. The plane went down behind the bar, I can't imagine witnessing it. Seen the smoke in my mirror when I was turning onto outer loop and thought the landfill was on fire
I can see the smoke from the other side of the bridge in New Albany now.
I live off Fern Valley. Literally 1.2 miles from the Worldport. It’s crazy over here right now.
Holy fucking shit.
Holy shit this is crazy if it was a UPS plane. My dad used to fly out of that hub
This must be the UPS flight they were talking about in r/aviation
This video is insane. It looks like a freaking movie
Picture I took from bellarmine around 5:45
Well. This aged poorly 1 hour before the accident.
Whoa. Scary and sad. Any updates on the cause?
