“勝手に突っ込んできたその汚い首は一瞬の躊躇もなく斬ってやるしかない。覚悟ができているのか”
(I have no choice but to cut off that filthy head that has come charging in without a moment's hesitation. Are you ready?)
Consul General in
Osaka Xue Jian (薛剑) wrote in a now-deleted X post in the evening of Nov 8, threatening to cut off the head of
PM Takaichi Sanae (高市早苗) and other Japanese in a response to an Asahi Shimbun post about Takaichi’s remarks on Taiwan at the Lower House Budget Committee on Nov 7 — the use of military force by China on Taiwan such as a naval blockade would likely constitute a “survival-threatening situation” that would force Japan to respond (asahi.com/sp/ajw/article).
The post immediately started a firestorm in Japan and infuriated many Japanese — including councilors Kohei Watanabe (渡辺康平) and Hiroshi Yamada (山田宏), who demanded Xue be expelled as persona non grata (x.com/kohei_w1985/st; x.com/yamazogaikuzo/).
