GameBanana

A website that provides files related to game skins , such as models, sounds, textures, maps, add-ons, and modding .

It originally started as CSCentral, which deals with Counter-Strike in 2000 , and changed to CSBanana some time later. As the topic expanded to all FPS games , the name was changed to FPSBanana, and since then, the scale has expanded to cover modes for video games in general. As it expanded, it became what is now GameBanana. As it started as a Counter-Strike series skin site, Valve Corporation 's game-related materials account for the largest portion.

In addition, there are many modes for Friday Night Funkin' and other Nintendo games, and recently, Genshin Impact modes have been appearing frequently.

There are two main ways to download. One is to apply it directly by pressing the download button, or to apply it automatically by downloading the Modboy program.

Note that files with a version difference or that have not been updated are notified as outdated files or an error appears.

1.1. About Valve Corporation

In the late 2000s, due to sanctions from Valve Corporation , virtually all site functions were blocked. This is a site where skins from Cass Source & Team Fortress 2 were the main content, and with the addition of skins and unlocked weapons from Team Fortress 2, the plans for skins for CS:GO, which were being developed at the time, were intertwined, leading to the commercialization of this 'cosmetic content'. It appears that this is because they started to defend copyright. Not only did it simply interfere with making money by selling hats, but there was also a skin that changed the rocket projectile of the Soldier (Team Fortress 2) into the shape of a cannonball from the Super Mario series, and in fact, most of the Soldier's main unlocked weapons after that had independent projectile sprites. Since he had it, if he left it alone, there was bound to be confusion from the player's perspective. If problems caused by skins that occur in this way are not identified in advance and corrected, it can be expected that problems will arise in using the game. Afterwards, Game Banana took action to limit the use of skins that did not overlap with Valve's patches, and things returned to normal.

1.2. 'Friday Night Funkin '

On September 3, 2021, around 11:00 pm Korean time, a game banana was hacked by a user named Arch, and the famous modes of 'Friday Night Funkin' were deleted. See this page for details .

2. problem

2.1. server related

Server errors are frequent. Sometimes there are problems with the server that can't be fixed even after a day.

2.2. security related

As described in the Friday Night Funkin's case and thinking field above, Game Banana is very poor in security. As a result, there are quite a few users who leave Gamebanana and use or combine other distribution sites like Game JOLT .
