I've been thinking about leaving the r/WojakDrawings subreddit in March. The main reason is that I’m heading off to university, but I also feel like this subreddit is going downhill and turning into 4chan's /pol and/or /b/. Before you call me a downer, let me lay out the issues that are ruining this place and that the mods won’t address, let's dig in:
1. Racist Wojacks (Chudjak) with zero original content—just used to bait the userbase and stir up rage.
2. Transphobic Wojacks where they're depicted hanging. This subreddit is supposedly a safespace for people of all ethnical and sexual minorities, yet they’re being exposed to ableism/transphobia/racism. Yes, it's everywhere, especially these days. Let that sink in.
3. The hype train for Wojacks is dead. There’s no excitement for new Wojacks (thanks to lazy moderators), no quality posts, and it’s all about jakking off nobodies who aren’t even "soy". Even when they are literal nobodies, the Wojacks are of low quality, with no sense of Gem—some people spam the new Wojacks while others condemn it, leading to infighting. The ones spamming new Wojacks are the same ones causing drama.
4. The site mods are neglecting r/WojakDrawings. After u/DerelictScolds stopped moderating, he indirectly brought in a new wave Chud Racists who don’t even contribute to making Wojacks. This new wave of users lacks humanity—nobody knows who these new Racists are, and they’re constantly causing drama. It's a pity the moderators won't understand.
5. There’s barely any community engagement from the moderator—no asking users to make Wojacks, which stifles creativity.
6. Posting weird stuff. Safe-edgy racism is one thing, but attacking marginalised minorities crosses the line and just invites admin attention. The more this happens, the faster our subreddit will get taken down.
These are the issues I wanted to highlight about this community. On a personal note, this subreddit is rotting my brain. I’ve learned everything I can from it, and there’s nothing new or interesting coming out of it. I just turned 19 a few days ago, and I want to be more optimistic and do something other than wasting away on Reddit Wojack memes.
I want to say thank you to all the 'dditors, all the Wojacks, and all the fun we’ve had, but for me, this chapter is closed.
