*The entry period has now closed. Thank you very much for your applications.
The time has come when anyone can generate "manga-like drawings" using AI.
So, can anyone create a "manga work"?
Manga has its own grammar.
The skill of using pictures and dialogue to control the timeline and tell a story.
That is what it means to "draw manga."
Even from a global perspective, manga is the top of Japanese creativity, a field of expression that continues to evolve while carrying on tradition.
As the "media" that consumers come into contact with changes and the "technology tools" provided to creators undergo drastic changes, what possibilities will Japanese manga open up in the future?
Or will we face a crisis?
This year's question from UoC is, "Where is creativity in the age of AI?" This "AI x Manga" seminar is a place to directly face up to and respond to this question, providing a place for "real-life experience of exploration."
"In an age where anyone can create manga, what do you want to draw? What will you draw?" We want you to jump into the seminar!
We are especially looking for people who have dreamed of drawing manga for many years but have never done it on their own!
Former manga boys and girls who, for various reasons, can't bring themselves to start drawing, but can't give up either!!
Let's jump into an "adventure journey" that we couldn't embark on alone, together with our seminar colleagues and generative AI!
Challengers Wanted!
Once you reach the destination, you're sure to experience an unprecedented "excitement"!
What kind of people do you want to participate?
・People who aspire to draw manga but have never done it on their own.
・People who are eager to try their hand at creative work using generative AI.
Application conditions
In this seminar, you will create your own manga manuscript and submit the final finished work in PDF format.
1. Ability to create page layouts independently using PowerPoint, Keynote, Adobe Illustrator, etc.
② You must have an account with the generation AI and be able to generate text and images on your own.
*The cost of the generation AI account and creative tools will be borne by the participant.
3) Use of more advanced manga creation tools such as CLIP STUDIO and Procreate® is optional.
4) You are basically free to choose the generation AI you are familiar with or would like to use.
A conversation between Osato Manabu and Suda Kazuhiro, who are overseeing this semester's seminar, is also now available! Why manga in the age of AI? They discuss the background to the launch of the "AI x Manga Seminar," including the content of the seminar and their expectations for participants.
