The search term "vintage Swedish Christmas" is a treasure trove
I’m thrilled to see that Ralph Lauren Christmas has become the internet's holiday trend this year because that means while everyone else will be buying up plaids, velvets, and lots of garland, I can be scoping out secondhand listings without competition for the holiday aesthetic that’s speaking to me: folksy Swedish Christmas.
The hallmarks of this look? Candy apple red, painted wood details, cross stitched textiles, lots of candles, and motifs from the natural world (fruit, pinecones, trees).
I also famously do not decorate for Christmas because I spend most of the holiday season at my mom’s house, but that does not stop me from thinking about how I would decorate if I were spending the festive winter months in my own home.
