We only speak Japanese in our home (it's my husband and I only). In our 9 years of marriage I am always very comfortable to immediately say something when he uses a word I don't understand in our conversation. He explains in Japanese what the word means and I make sure to incorporate the new word I've learned in conversation/correct context ASAP.
