On April 25, 2020, Deputy Interior Minister Anton Gerashenko shared a human trafficking ring in Ukraine that sold babies to Chinese ‘single men of certain orientation, on his Facebook page. Gerashchenko blamed the lack of surrogate regulation in Ukraine.
