I found this press release by Googling "VR Cockpit by Sony":

There's not an equivalent English press release. Here's what Firefox's auto-translate gives me:
I really wouldn't be expecting this concept to show up in the retail game.

I am a bit confused, what is the relation of upcoming Toyota V8 GT and this Lexus? Do they share the same platform with Toyota being hybrid and Lexus BEV or are they different projects? And which one is the successor to LFA?

This SC will possibly serve as the coupe successor to the LC line that's ending. The LFR/GR is the car Toyota is marketing as the LFA's successor.

I don't think it's been revealed what platform the SC has underneath, but I don't think it shares it with the V8. That car seems built with the intent to go racing whilst the SC looks to be going as a luxury EV; to my knowledge, it's also not confirmed for production just yet, either.

"but the lack of a physical model of the car in driving and the placeholder sound does lead us to wonder if the vehicle has actually been modelled for the game."

The whole trailer is CGI and the last shots are from it leaving the pit and driving on track. Those last shots seem to me like captured from the game and added post effects (like the lens flare) and color grading.

Please no.
Not every car added to the game can be to everyone's liking. But we're talking about the biggest update yet for GT7, with 7 more cars, 2 tracks and a host of other things. Once a car is modelled and announced to be included in the game, it's coming, no matter what. Wouldn't you rather have a car you're not interested in a larger update included with more things you would like, rather than in just a regular 3 car update where it's inclusion has a larger effect on the update as a whole? Surely the update hasn't fallen that far in your anticipation because of the possibility of this being in the game? Come December, I'm sure we'll all have something to cheer about.

I will say - a little sad PD have managed to put the rear view mirror onto an actual IRL car's rear mirror before they put it on roof cam.
