Who's left to work on a new design? As far as I can tell, they have no ME, EE, or game designer.

Quoted from RMS1977:I don't understand why people who are clearly not interested in AP keep coming back to this thread. Coming in here to just repeat the same thing over and over ("they're dead", "they are terrible people", "Cuphead is never happening", etc) is just silly at this point.
If there was a thread dedicated to Taylor Swift, I for one would stay far away. Just not a fan at all. But I do know she is very popular and millions of people like her music. And if a thread like that existed, it would make sense that people who hate her would probably spend their time elsewhere.
I get that AP isn't for everyone. Some hate their games, some hate how the company is run, and others just hate them because of the mob mentality in this hobby. I own two of their games and they are very fun to play. I plan on purchasing more in the future (Mitesh has a LOV show game at a great price he's trying to sell me right now). I also really appreciate how nice Mitesh, Mukesh and others are to my son. He's always so excited to visit them and chat during Expo and other shows we attend.
I'm excited to see what they have in store for the future. Not only their pinball machines, but other machines as well. It sounds like between pinball, Polycade, Whirl-o-ball, Ice Cold Beer, their new digital pinball machine and other projects they are working on that their factory in Palatine is running on all cylinders right now. That seems like a really good thing if you ask me.
I don’t want to hate AP, and I want to believe you so badly on the Cuphead thing. This is just so crazy to me though. Ron is telling you to your face Cuphead is still coming? Really, then my person in the industry is dead wrong or lying to me. Bonkers man, just bonkers…
The whirl o ball thing is also baffling as I don’t see how FECs would want that vs any of the other smaller offerings out there, but if it does well, that’s great. I do love Ice Cold Beer, and I own a Polycade, so there is something to be said about there being a strong market for those other items. These other items are just not pinball, and from what I have gathered their entire pinball development team has been decimated, so I don’t know how anything good materializes.
Can you confirm if Ryan, Zofia, or Jessica are still with them? Who is over there making pinball?
Quoted from Haymaker:Supposedly Lloyd is customer help, but I think his main job is to shill for free games,
That's not nice. I've already had three calls today. The time I spend on phone, email, people stopping in. If I were being paid, would be a lot more than the games. Which I'd need anyway.
I work remote from Minnesota. I can't transfer calls or send parts. So if a caller needs more help than I know, or parts. Then getting through to AP in Chicago is the problem.

Thanks Lloyd, you’re a treasure to the pinball community. Don’t exactly agree with what was said about you either.
Let’s try to keep the criticism focused on AP as a whole, lol.
Incidentally there is a new tech added to the team. Grinding through old tickets to be sure things are covered.
So there should be some improvement.
Thank you,
Lloyd
Quoted from yancy:Unfortunately, none of this means they know how to run a pinball business.
I can't believe people are still dealing with this guy...

Hey - we aprpeciate you as a resource I see you are active in the AP stuff.
I'll give them a B grade on my spare parts order. Only issue is about 10 of the decals were detached and missing. Plus a rip in the decal sheet. Found most of the decals in various places. Only missing 2 now. This is one huge decal sheet, so probably hard to roll up without small one becoming detached. Everything ordered was received.

17613410352263093894875686934528 (resized).jpgActually looks like I got a bonus, what I ordered was not supposed to include the side art. I do notice now that one of the larger lower apron decals is missing. Found a couple more smaller ones. Good enough though, no real complaints.
LTG is a legend for me! Holy cow LIoyd offered so many help for everybody, his passion for pinball has no end! Even reading different threads around pinside, LTG shows and tells solutions, I learned so much just reading LTG posts.
Many people involved in AP games are amazing and still support the games in all kind of situations.
Just wanna say thank you!
Don't shit on Lloyd. Dude goes way out of his way to help people he doesn't even know over and over again. He personally helped me once with a technical issue that NOBODY I could find knew the answer to. He knew it right away, every aspect, down to the tee.
I was nervous and fed up, was scrolling pinside and saw Lloyd, sent him a PM about my problem and he helped me right away. Answered multiple questions of mine and even told me who to contact at the manufacturer if needed. What Lloyd told me was right and my game has played great since.
Grownup Adjacent posted this interview with Ron from AP during Expo and at the 4 minute mark Ron confirms that the rumored license that everyone is talking about is not going to be their next game. He said the 7th game will be something else entirely.
Again, he is either lying to everyone, or Cuphead is 100% dead. RMS and anyone else holding out please take note.
On a side note, he did say they might do another run of Ovtoberfest in November. That’s maybe worth mentioning even though they previously said the game was retired.

What's Ron's title?
Quoted from mbwalker:What's Ron title?
He took over for Fix and is the general manager of AP/Orbit Games…
Quoted from Silvergun360:On a side note, he did say they might do another run of Ovtoberfest in November.
It's October.. dozens of different unique parts don't just magically appear in volume in just days or two weeks. So either they are blowing smoke.. or this means "we'll scrape together what games we can build from the parts we can find on the shelf...", which likely means extremely low volume.
Which, for build quality and velocity.. usually means garbage.
Quoted from Joe_Blasi:and if the next game is just an retheming of BBQ
That’s what many speculate it will be. I was told by someone who knows what this next game is that it’s not something people have asked for.

Does Ron have a background with arcade games/pinball?
Quoted from mbwalker:Does Ron have a background with arcade games/pinball?
Not sure, but i think he was responsible for bringing in the whole polycade thing for AP.

Kaneda Pinball Podcast released two or three candid photos on facebook last week. Game looks cool, art looks solid. It only reinforced my strong desire to own one.
How have these not been posted here? Lol

Yes saw that at expo. So stupid.

Played it at Expo, even stupider
They took all the fun parts of ski-ball out and said “hey roll this ball up a slope and we’ll tell you where it landed”. Who would even want that?

They admitted the game was slapped together quickly to get it ready for Expo. The final product will be much more polished.
My son and I played it a bunch. It's actually quite fun. That bell chime is addicting as hell. Once the guys working the booth told us the high score for the day, we immediately started working towards trying to top it (we weren't successful).
Not sure I could afford to have one in my basement, or if it would even fit. But we enjoyed playing it when we were there. It was a nice break when we needed to get away from the long lines.

Nobody wants it. It was one of the biggest jokes of expo. Overheard lots of people ragging on it. Well, at least one guy thought it was fun, but he'll believe anything AP tells him. Anyway, I wonder what game will get the leftover tank tips from leftover whirl-o-balls
I played it. Didn't really care for it. Seemed much more random than Skeeball, and you don't get to see where the ball lands. But I believe it's shorter than Skeeball, so might fit in more locations? When I played it, the AP guy told me it was a certain number of balls (can't recall - was it 9?), but I got one less and the machine went to game over. He seemed confused. So apparently there was a glitch. But it was a prototype, so that kind of stuff is to be expected, I guess.

For a game "nobody" is interested in it sure got a lot of plays. Over 4k between two machines.

Thunderbirds probably did too when it first came out.

Anyone got any, so the rest of us can join in on the fun?

This will be fun. For about 20 minutes.
My son played a single game of whirl-o-ball at Expo and walked away, but he'll play the crap out of skee ball at arcades. Turns out it's more fun to SEE THE BALL go into the target.

That’s the fun part about skee ball.
I don’t know much about skee-ball and what makes it fun, but the part where there is a high points target that is normally surrounded by a low points ‘gutter’ makes much more sense to me. There doesn’t seem to be that sort of risk/reward in this from what I’ve seen.

The machines they had at Expo only had one game programmed on it. The object was to hit all seven values one by one, and if you did then you got double scoring for the last two balls. Once you used up all nine balls, they would release again and the seven values would need to be hit again. Once you failed to hit all seven, your game was over.
They said there are going to be more mini-games programmed in the final machine. One is timed and you see how many points you can score before your time is up.
I understand it's not pinball, but it's still pretty fun to play.
Quoted from Blake:For a game "nobody" is interested in it sure got a lot of plays. Over 4k between two machines.
And how much action do you think it would have got if people had to pay to play it? People stepping up to try something new for free doesn't say much.

VR ski-ball with all the modes you want (just pay us an DLC fee to unlock each one!)

Yes, the thing really holding it back was that there was only one game programmed on it. Once there are multiple games to choose from, suddenly it'll be awesome! Family fun centers will be lining up to bring in this hot new attraction! Earnings will skyrocket!

Are you invested in Aimtron or something? You seem overly positive about a lot of things that are just mediocre at best. I don’t know how anyone invests in this company or their games. The creators of Cuphead were wise to walk away…
