Gen Z — from Unaffiliated to Church Attender
Are we finally headed in the right direction, toward a stronger Biblical Christian worldview in America?
Just a few short years ago (2021), according to a study done by the Survey Center on American Life, Gen Z’s (13–28 year olds) ranked higher than any other age demographic in the percentage of those who rejected all forms of religion (34%) in America.
However, according to new research by the Barna Group, there has been a significant resurgence, at least in church attendance, by both Millennials and Gen Z’s. Published in September of 2025, below shows the number of times each demographic attended a church service and offers longitudinal data on increases over time.
