You know what? I've been reading this thread and wasn't going to post, but this right here made me remember something.

I was having lunch with a male friend. Fine, sexy,successful, rich. He's been discussed on this board before. Anyway, Michelle walks by and notices him. Clearly she knew him. Without being asked or saying anything to me, she comes over to hug him and SITS DOWN AT THE TABLE WITH US. We weren't on a date, but she didn't know that. She acted like I wasn't even sitting there, didn't even look at me. I didn't say a word. He introduces her to me, and when she realized who I was, she was like "oh hi, nice to meet you". Then, she asks him what he's doing later and invites him to her show, flirting with him the whole time. I was like "this b!tch here". I just sat back & laughed because he blew her off and I guess she started feeling stupid because he immediately turned his attention back to me and we both kind of ignored her. She eventually got up and left. Btw, she looked horrible and she's really, really skinny. Sickly skinny.

Also, I sat next to Chris Rock and his (now) wife a really long time (90's) ago at the Shark Bar in NY. If you've ever been there, the seating is really close and tight, and Chris and I were on the booth side. Our elbows were literally touching. I was alone, so I heard everything they were saying. They weren't married yet, it seemed like it was one of their first dates because they clearly din't know each other too well. She was acting like a straight b!tch, especially to the waiter. Chris kept saying "come on now be nice". She was explaining something to him about his new computer, and in spite of how snooty and bitchy she seemed, it was like he thought she was some kind of prize. When i saw that he married her a few years later just I shook my head.

It all depends baby, it all depends. It's definitely not what it used to be (think corporate cards out the ass, fun parties etc) but if you're at the top of what you do (10 years plus experience) it can be very nice. It really is a who you know type place. But, like I said, it takes 10 years, man of paying dues and experience, that's why so many just sleep on up, it's so much quicker/easier but they never last. Those at the top have been there for years, and they're not going anywhere. :shut-mouth:

I just discovered this thread yesterday and I've gone through half of it already. It has got (gotten?) me thirsty like no other! I hope the incogs return soon, but in the meantime, I'll share some of my own. It's kinda stale, but remains tea nonetheless:

My Mom's family has owned a house in North Egremont, Massachusetts for over four decades. Our chalet is situated in the mountains and is only a few minutes away from what we consider "town" aka Great Barrington. If you've ever seen the film, "Before and After," most scenes were filmed between those locations.

They most likely filmed it during the fall and winter of 1994/1995 because it was released in February 1996. Anyway, we happened to be up there for one weekend during filming. I couldn't have been more than three and my brother's only two years older, so I have to solely rely on Mom's memory here. Haha.

She had us in tow as she walked around an area which includes Martin's Restaurant -- a popular choice for locals and visitors alike which is actually shown in one of the shots -- and followed the crowd to find out the cause of the commotion. Next thing ya know, the director and Liam Neeson both asked her to star as one of the locals in the background.

Mom recalls Liam as being very friendly, respectful, and charming. She didn't find him attractive but admitted she could understand his appeal in person. Also, his accent is much more pronounced than it is on camera, but he usually downplays that for obvious reasons. And guess what? Meryl Streep is a complete snob!

Mom met her at a nearby Waldbaums the next day. Our Grandma offered to babysit us so she could grab the few needed groceries, but that plan was slightly derailed when Mom saw Meryl staring at herself on the cover of Good Housekeeping (for a LONG time) while two of her daughters patiently waited around their cart. As Mom tells it, she went to opposite sides of the store and purchased the groceries, and Meryl hadn't moved an inch in all that time. Granted, she's a quick walker, but still...

Anyway, she decided to approach her and ask for a picture. Well, when Mom greeted her from a distance, she merely cocked her ear and pursed her lips as if that were acknowledgement enough. She only took her eyes away from the cover to give the slightest bit of eye contact once Mom made her request. Then, she acted exasperated as she explained she didn't think that would be appropriate for her children to witness. She literally looked at Mom for two seconds before she turned around toward her children and spouted that one sentence. That's all. She remained faced toward them until Mom left (not too long after, as you can imagine).

Please keep in mind that she paraded the same children on the carpet of some show biz event less than a month later. I used to think that she might have behaved differently if my older bro and I had been there -- like she would have at least been respectful due to a shared maternal bond -- but I'm sure she's just a stuck-up person based on her overall attitude and not the fact that she declined having her picture taken. Looking at it from her perspective, I understand that she's a person and might have felt like her space was violated, but that doesn't mean she should have been dismissive. I mean, it's not like she was in a rush! Anyway, Mom got the last laugh when she told some stragglers outside the store that Miz Streep was there and they hurried inside :

Based on our family's shared experiences, we've reached the following conclusions: Chevy Chase is a complete asshole. He's every SNL writer's worst nightmare, as my second cousin Tim Herlihy, whose best friend is Adam Sandler (a really nice guy who's much funnier in real life than the majority of pathetic excuses he labels "entertainment") can attest to. Tim McGraw and Billy Ray Cyrus sort of are, too, because they'll only pose with attractive females if they can help it. However, Kevin Kline, Timothy Hutton, Penny Marshall, Ed Burns, Burt Young, Cathy Moriarty, Reba McEntire, Keith Urban, and a few others are absolute sweethearts. Ironically, Mom met Donald Trump and Rosie O'Donnell at separate times throughout the late '80s and early '90s respectively and both of them complimented her stunning looks.

P.S. Mom met Penny Marshall at a restaurant named The Red Rooster in Upstate NY as she was on her way to another filming location for "The Preacher's Wife". The possibility that Whitney might have also been within the vicinity at that time fills me with joy :
