It is kinda hilarious to me that Adam became such an asshole considering what he was like before... Maroon 5 were like VH1 and MTV's bottom b!tch. And Adam was not much to look at. I'm convinced he's had an hair transplant of some kind. I met the band when they were promoting "Songs about Jane". I stood in for them while the crew marked out their places and I tend to mess around while doing stuff like that so, I was pretending to drum and sing and what not for the amusement of the crew. I think they must have seen me on the monitors because when they came into the studio, Adam came and stood next to me and struck up a conversation. We talked about playing instruments - I kinda play "mary had a little lamb" on the recorder and I wanted to learn the drums. He laughed at my recorder joke and said it was cool that I wanted to play the drums. He was very chatty, and jokey. I think they were still humbled by their success at the time, but now he is comfortable and has zero fucks to give. You could tell he was confident and had an ego back then, but it wasn't as bad.

I loved Maroon 5's songs back then before they started getting cartoony, but I don't see the hype with Adam anymore. I thought he was cute, but now his stank arrogant attitude ruins it.

He strikes me as the kind of guy that wasn't cool in high school, got picked on, and then when he made it big, then he thought he was cool enough to date skinny models.

I met Quentin at a dinner. I think people assume he's like his character in Pulp Fiction, bash, rude etc but he's not like that at all. Which really surprised me. I think he had a few to drink cause the wine was flowing but he wasn't drunk just really chilled and cracking jokes etc.

Random sprinkings of tea- But a friend of my worked Cannes a couple years ago. She said that Brad Pitt is not good looking in person (she was a big fan) and that he's aging badly. She said Pitt looked plastic and his skin is terrible. She was also really shocked by how hot George Clooney is. My friend was never a fan or fancied Clooney but after that night she practically swoons whenever you mention his name. Gay or straight she says Clooney's ridiculously handsome in person and that his photos don't do him enough justice. I too side eye the celebrities with the black babies thing, let me qualify I am white but my family has adopted interracially twice--my brother and my beautiful little cousin, now 8, my brother's goddaughter. They are Korean, we're white.

I think with angie and brad ---angie is a dedicated UN rep, I think her heart is in the right place. But part of this also has to do with who is available to be adopted. Children from war torn countries or cultures with no tradition of adoption are often the ones with kids to export. In Korea there is a big stigma against adoption, no one adopts in that country. Hence, from the late 50s, post the Korean War, lots of orphans, and the best and cheapest way for the government to handle it was let them be adopted to US and Europe. I met an older woman who was one of the first wave of kids, she also adopted a Korean girl. There are so many girls up for adoption in China (because couples want a boy for their one child they give up girls) that is why there are so many in the US. China also liberal about letting single women and same sëx couples adopt, very hard in the US.

US adoption is very hard. The reason is everyone is afraid that the birth mother is going to come out of the woodwork and get their kid back----in the US the birth mother has all the rights. And kids whose parents are still alive go to foster care, not adoption.

When I was an undergraduate the student paper advertised all the time for "let us ADOPT YOUR HEALTHY WHITE INFANT" which grossed me out because it was obvious these parents didnt have the selflessness of other adoptive parents, they just wanted to pretend it was theirs, and they were unwilling to take a special needs child, a black or multiracial child, or someone older than a baby. Grossed me right out. I don't know about the demographics of children actually up for adoption in this country, it used to be easy to adopt, but now it isnt.

Sandra Bullock's baby is from New Orleans,she declared residency there...I have no idea what the demographics of children waiting for adoption are in this country...but it is hard, lengthy process. Some people really don't care what color the baby is, just that it is a baby. However I have different views on diff. celebs...

Angelina--Zakariah (I dont remember right spelling) is from Ethiopia, a country that has been war torn for decades. Chances are she was a real orphan, all family gone and the best thing for her was to go out of the country. The other kids are from Cambodia and Vietnam, they also have lots of real orphans. In the US, a lot of kids in foster care are there because their parents are unfit, incarcerated, on drugs, or sometimes legitimately too ill/poor to take care of them. But there is a chance that the parents will come back looking for them...

Sandra- I think was turning 40 and just wanted a baby, period.

Charlize-same thing, but I worry if she is from a racist background, (could be or not) then it was not a wise idea to raise a black child.

Catherine Heigl-like tons of US parents took a Chinese girl. Very little worry the parents will come looking.

Madonna---this one is really bad because in her case I think it was a "celebrity accessorry" thing---kid has a father.

Might interest you in the old days there was a really high proportion of interracial children in orphanages---like up to the early 60s, a friend of mine is in this category...kids who were"embarrassments" or unacceptable to either side. Just came across an article about this in an old african american paper (Baltimore Afro American) from the 1950s. My friend was a white executive's kid with a black employee mother...

There is also a movement afoot from the Black Social Workers Association in the States called Bring Them Home...they want more black people to adopt because there are a lot of black children waiting in foster care to be adopted.

Bottom line, to me who is very close to the subject, in the US you risk having your kid yanked after you get involved. Also, it is relatively hard for a single woman who is 40ish to adopt, and because there is not as much of a stigma on unwed mothers women don't give their babies up as much as they used to. There used to be these homes for unwed mothers where the girl would go until her baby came and she didnt have much choice about it...now they just keep the baby. Or the kid is put in foster care waiting for the child's parents to get out of jail or otherwise clean up. Or they were abused, and that is a whole kettle of fish.

I dont have a problem with the adoptions except for Madonna's which I think was ridiculous, in that case the child should have stayed with his father. And no, drinking a black child's blood won't cure AIDS or cancer or anything like that...sorry to tell you...rather the opposite, as some children in foster care are HIV+,less so now thank god because of prenatal treatments and kids. Ever meet a 10 year old with HIV? We had a case at a hospital I worked with...I wanted to cry. It is SO WRONG but I read a lovely article about this black woman in NJ who fostered two HIV+ boys...made them take their meds every day....god has blessed her with patience and love beyond measure..

BTW, I really think the Chinese girls are going to have major issues when they grow up with the country/parents that rejected them--a lot of anger,some confusion because while they will want to affirm their Chinese identity they might feel disloyal to the parents that took them in and raised them...etc.

Now I remember--yeah if there was someone who wanted to adopt her in Ethiopia I could agree staying in her own culture might be better, but Ethiopia/Eritrea is one of the poorest nations in the world and most people have trouble just keeping it together...even elite parents may not want to adopt because the future is always uncertain there. I think yes, in some cases it is better to keep the child in the same culture IF POSSIBLE, but it ISNT ALWAYS. It matters most that it is an orderly, clean, loving, supportive home they go to, and if you read the book by Cupcake Jones- A Piece of Cake or Finding Fish you know that a lot of foster care families most unfortunately arent. Some are wonderful, my interracial friend had wonderful foster parents.

I think you really cannot fault a white person for adopting a black child...unless you are willing to adopt the kid yourself.

On the other hand if you saw Bruno---he traded his Ipod for his baby OJ---and checked him with his luggage---that was a kick at Madonna, deservedly. Kids are not a damn ACCESSORY.

BTW I would bet in Sandra's case...I dont know if they are allowed to show preference, but I bet if there was a black home available for little Louis they would have placed him there. Given that New Orleans has apparently never really recovered from Katrina, there MAY NOT BE. People really fled from there, and also a lot of the homes were never recovered.

The reason I am team Angelina is because she did everything the so-called wrong way, and HAD balls...she was the "bad" girl who even messed with girls a bit, she had two very early weird marriages, and Billy Bob Thornton dumped her because she adopted Maddox...she had balls to adopt those kids, she started the process with Maddox on her own. By conventional thinking this should have taken her out of the marriage market--who wants to two non-white adopted kids along for the ride? Answer? The hottest guy in HW, Brad Pitt, and I say a lot of ish about a lot of people on these sites, it is a guilty pleasure, but she ends up in one of the happiest most functional couples in HW, with the hottest guy, with six kids. I LOVE IT. You can say a lot about them, but from my "came from a multiracial family myself" I love them. I can't stand a lot of HW wannabes and so forth, but them I like. Cause it ended up all good.

BTW Josephine Baker, who didnt have her own kids,only one miscarriage...did the same thing, adopted 10 kids from different countries...back in the 1950s-60s. So did Mia Farrow, although we know how that ended up. It is nothing new.

I used to work in the Meat Packing District when it really was the meat packing district, not a yuppie shopping mall...and I heard that Eddie was a frequent customer for the trannie hos down there which is no news, but what is was that he is also a foot fetishist. I know some medical information about some celebs because I used to work in a hospital..but I aint telling because about that I respect their rights and federal law. also going for celebs is A. they have a lot of money B. they have a lot of time off and can afford nannies and so forth--they are not likely to get turned down by an adoption agent. That poor little girl-Z. That is a horrible story, but I think she is loved or at the very least wanted and treated like a real child with a family...never mind she is basically being raised by HW royalty and will have unlimited hook-ups later in life, that is secondary in my opinion, but I think Brad and Angie really want those kids..they do have a lot of help,but they also have HUGE careers too...celebrity kids CAN screw up really heard, and she will have her issues later on, but better that she lives, eats, gets a good education and has brothers and sisters and a family to go to.

You have to think of it from their perspective too--these chicks could go an get pregnant and then have the baby daddy, celebrity or not come after them for the kid or even child support a la Gabriel Aubry, and Larry Burkhard is already pimping his girl out..."modelling"-thing is the little girl is also gorgeous. They could do artificial insemination too but so much depends on their looks...and being visibly pregnant would knock them out of work for like a year...they could wait for years in the US and be refused because they are single mothers. From what I know of Ethiopia and the region, I would say that she would have a chance of survival if an NGO or mission or orphanage raised her....but that would be a CHANCE, not a definite. Everyone in Ethiopia has hardships, especially the rural poor, it is not politically stable and no one's future is sure. This way, she isnt going hungry, stepping on land mines or getting kidnapped by militia, or raped. I guess I am thinking more about the Sudan, Angola, Rwanda, and Sierra Leone/Liberia, but I read Negus Mezkleia's in the Belly of the Hyena and Ismael Bok's book about slavery in the Sudan, also Waris Dirie's desert flower...and a lot can happen that is BAAAAADDD in some African countries.
