ICE tear gasses a street where children were getting ready for a Halloween parade in Chicago.
A federal judge is calling the ICE commander into court tomorrow because of using tear gas after being ordered by the court to not use it arbitrarily.
ICE complains Chicago PD doesn't help them when they are tear gassing everyone, including CPD officers.
ICE is unprofessional and dangerous. They shot a US Marshal in Portland.
Nice part abt living downtown is the proud boys would never come down here - they’re too afraid of getting their wallets stolen or being called a name by someone they can’t harass and doxx.

A handful of the far right grifting streamers who have been at the portland ICE facility every day (like Tommy Allen) are currently at PSU harassing students. They’ve been throwing around transphobic slurs, calling femmes “whores” and “sluts” and calling Brown students “Aladdin”
These folks are all from out of town and continuously harassing people and trying to provoke fights and assault people in our community to manufacture content. This is disgusting

As someone who is totally blind, the Fediverse is the only place where I have ever been able to follow people such as photographers, artists, or even those who post pictures of their cats or the food they ate. The reason is that most of them use alt text. They take the time to describe the images that my screen reader can't recognise. Some write the descriptions themselves, and others use tools such as altbot. Some worry that their descriptions aren't good enough, especially when they are new at this. Let me assure you, not only are they good enough, they are extremely appreciated! If the rest of the world thought as you did, it would be a much better place. Don't hesitate to ask if you're unsure of something, but never think that we don't notice your effort.

Zach M<p>People deserve community spaces where that can feel inclusive and safe. Trans people deserve to be able to speak to just other trans people at times. Black people deserve spaces for the black community only. Latinos deserve spaces where they can freely express themselves and their frustrations with other Latinos. </p><p>We need intersectionality and we need diverse spaces and various groups of people we socialize with every single day.</p><p>Just some morning thoughts.</p>

Especially if you can afford to sign up to give that couple of bucks every month.</p><p>A food bank can do more with $1 than you can do with a $4 because they know what they need, have connections, and are working at scale. And the extra $3 you spent is just going to the corp that runs the grocery store.</p><p>And please, please, please... don't clean out your pantry and then show up with food that's "probably still good" because as someone who's volunteered at a food bank:</p><p>We're going to smile, say thank you, show you how you can just give us $5 a month, and then we're going to throw it away because half those cans are dented or expired and we cannot give away or serve that to a person. Especially a person that CANNOT afford to get food poisoning.</p><p>Food banks are going to get more and more important, and I can pretty much promise that your dollar is not going to go further.</p>

Maybe I’m being transphobic myself - I’m more curious now but also im too anxious to go back and try and talk to her because I just don’t really know if it matters. </p><p>I’ll put the metal in my bedroom… id rather that not happen ever again lmao</p>
Zach M<p>And sometimes I feel like when I interact with trans femmes maybe who have come out later in life or something that perception or fear of judgment or constant fear of everyone looking at you is not really there as much?</p><p>I mean, it’s an underlying current of constant anxiety that I feel at every single moment when I’m out in public if anyone addresses me, it’s likely because I’m doing something wrong. </p><p>And I genuinely cannot tell if people are joking because I am always expecting a fight. Idk.</p>

It didn’t seem like it, but also I feel like I don’t understand people a lot of times. </p><p>My family is passive aggressive and we’re mostly assigned female at birth. Sometimes I wonder if trans women understand that there’s an entire ocean of trauma around perception in public from other people for fear of shame or embarrassment or judgment. Because that’s all my life was as a child</p>
Zach M<p>I Explained to her that I felt like it was something I wore to show that I’m proud of who I am and everything that I’ve gone through and then she laughed and said she thought valor was funny. Maybe she was serious because I think she was probably trans too. But being put on the spot like that in public and then being told that I’m stealing Valor in front of a bunch of people? come on girl. Maybe just leave me alone instead. If it’s triggering, I get it. I’m sorry but either be direct or don’t.</p>

Back when we had to hide who we were. The woman at CVS I guess didn’t like it or thought that it meant stolen valor from veterans. I told her I didn’t think that it was meant to symbolize an actual military medal. Then started trying to say she thought stolen valor was funny. So I took it off and she got upset with me. Wtf</p>
