The reaction is almost the same outside Japan. I literary do not believe you don稚 like the original story at all and your last commentary was not the best reaction for bloggers.
It's unfortunate to me, that like the original one, to see major modifications from the manga. But I'm not that against.
It was obvious changes would appear, especially in this storytelling. Every adaptation receives many critics, major part speaking about different levels of similarity as if this were the point to be discussed. You guys have really read original Blade, Cat-woman, Constantine, From Hell, Hellboy, Conan, etc., before speaking about movies adaptations? I know author-hierarchy structure is different but it痴 still an adaptation, not just translation.
Script changing is a bit more radical than different interpretations, but anyway, that was permitted by the author, let it be. I知 writing all this just because some comments were too aggressive for the case… (but I知 also the one that like the original)
It won稚 be much of your help but I have some expectations over the version (no more adaptation, maybe) of yours.
Do the best way you can. Sorry If I was too prolix, I hope success for you.
At least you're being honest about it. It's ok. It's more interesting to see a different version of the story than the same exact version.

I agree with some of you guys, and believe so too. But I知 not in the same position as yours. As it is based on the original, what is going to be demanded and expected is obvious, the fidelity. Part of attraction the product has is the existence of original and its fans.
But it痴 also true you guys who live in Japan should have more knowledge of examples of manga adaptations that is too far from the original.
Violent and polemic content of Bokurano is an easy target to be changed, isn稚 it? ... Evidently cutting out the violent fragments is different.
So, you have a point. But, in speaking about quality as an adaptation, I知 more likely to argue about anime version of Romeo and Juliet or drama version of Hana yori Dango…
Well, sorry, I致e changed the subject; I intended to say this does not 努orth” all this discussion, mainly all these unilateral critics… How can I say, it痴 obvious there is no apparent reason in changing the story and call itself The Story. It痴 lamentable for fans (I知 one of them), and that痴 all.
Maybe the real arguing point is the personal way director said he was directing anime version. To announce he dislike the original manga was impolite, and furthermore to say he has loose, in a way, to apologize himself, although it can be just superficially or not seriously, was not convincing…
I was also discontent with the situation, but all I could say, you guys have already said, and over-said. I just definitely do not want to see an unmotivated director to produce whatever it come to be just to finish doing it. If he decided to do it, and in his way, so do it the best way he can, so that I will watch it!
The director requesting Bokurano not to be seen was an unfortunate response, for sure. All the sponsors and staff would want it watched.
But, firstly, it was directed to people who continuously post here (minority of audience) and the number of people who will actually stop watching it is very low. Secondly, the whole staff may be conscientious of the case. Director, alter all, is a leader character. We can稚 also forget polemic guides curiosity (audience). Hehe.
I let it clear, I wanted to see the manga moving in the screen. But as it痴 not going to be as it is wanted, I値l wait for the manga to be published until the end so that I can follow the author痴 own concept ideas. The anime version, I wanna see too, after all, it痴 based on manga I like. And as I know the director痴 position, I値l expect to see how director managed to finish this plot… I just hope it doesn稚 go to fit itself within mainstream anime series.
