I was reading your L*ona r- I mean, your NOT L*ona ramblings, and BFOEMLAMDLSMAN you explain everything so well... I want to make everyone see your posts istg 😭😭😭(in general but specially about him)
But I was wondering— why do you censor his name? Should I censor it if I ask you about him? (Doing it here just in case) you just seem very cool and I would hate to make u uncomfortable 🥹
Anyways, he's my fav but I totally get that love/hate reactions you have towards him, I'M THE SAME. On Twitter I always go from lovemailing him to saying "I pray for your downfall." and screaming insults into a void (so like. the same but in Spanish 😭) You're not alone I get you and my inner thoughts sound EXACTLY THE SAME 😭😭😭 (I wish I could write long analysis but anytime I try to do that with ANY fav character of mine my mind just has TOO MANY THOUGHTS and they all cancel out each other and my brain just shuts down.)
[Referencing the NOT L*ONA ROT tag , I think specifically this post! ] EW, NO 🤢 I’d rather be ill on my bedsheets than project my L*ona ramblings on a large scale and force everyone to look at it xiavszjvafqycqh,(.eRyGFDga I think I’d simply dissipate from the embarrassment OTL I don’t censor Leona’s name because he upsets me somehow, I do it as a form of begrudging endearment. It’s similar to how I sometimes refer to Jade as “J word”! I tend to break out those terms most often when I’m (unfortunately) screaming excitedly about them, like the love-hate reactions you brought up. It’s almost like they’re forbidden words or anomalies whose names must not be spoken aloud, lest you accidentally summon them... and I think that adds to the simple charm of those monikers 🙃 So it’s completely fine if you just write characters’ names without redacting them! Anyway, I’m happy that you were able to relate to my thoughts and experiences in some way ^^ I hope that you can continue to hang around and engage with my not-L*ona-rot~

Im not sure if anyone asked this yet but if Crowley got Raven a matching Hawaiian shirt (like the one he wore in Scarabia arc), would she wear it?
She would (it's a gift, so might as well put it to use, right?)! Just not really as a regular part of her ensemble, it would probably only really see use if she followed the headmaster on vacation. I imagine the Hawaiian shirt is oversized (Crowley picked out one that's too large) and resembles a dress more than a shirt... Miss Raven is wearing a sun hat with a large brim and flip flops, plus a pair of those sunglasses with heart-shaped lenses. She's dragging along a suitcase on wheels, asking her uncle to please wait for her. Maybe that’s what her fit would be if she went along with the gang in Lost in the Book with Stitch.
ah, it was removed So!! I started playing Lost in the Book with Stitch in EN, and you know what I noticed?? (Bear in mind that this is only up to part 2 and that more is on its way, but I don’t see a reason for this change in parts 1 and 2 but not later in the event.) EN has removed Stitch’s voice. In JP, he had short lines which were voiced such as when Stitch says “ohana”. Sad that EN players can’t experience this 😭 It was for real so cute…

BLESS 🙏 bro even removed his earring even though he doesn’t do it for lab or cooking/j I love all the little details in this card!! It’s a very practical design—we obviously see his big backpack and camping gear scattered about (even what looks to be a folding chair to sit and enjoy the scenery), but there’s also little accessories which are useful in exploring the woods + mountains. There’s a compass, a map, a lantern that sort of looks like a shiitake (which he is holding very daintily 😂), that brush clipped to his crossbody bag (probably for removing dirt from specimens he finds), etc. The outfit he’s wearing is also practical! He’s got a bunch of layers is us all bundled up to protect from the cold. The beanie + hood combo is good for the rain and keeps his (gloved) hands free for exploration. An umbrella would just get in the way! His backpack is secured to him with a belt across his chest so he’s not in danger of forgetting his supplies somewhere! There also seems to be stuff strapped to his thighs (the thighs THE THIIIIIIIIIIIGHS), as well as large pockets in his coat to hold things. asdgukvaukfviqyelfae; Now that's design I can get behind 🤡 You can tell he takes these trips seriously and puts a lot of effort into preparing for them!! Jade’s totally in his element and I love that for him 🥰 Just look at that peaceful, angelic smile… Aaaaah, so cute 😭 Hopefully he won't take too any rolls to drag home from the mountains... (P.S. you don't have to answer this if you don't want to but what do you think about Yuu who alr knows Disney and is a bit of a better strategist than canon!Yuu? Like this Yuu would know from the first dream-vision they had that they mirror reality the next day and so whenever they wake up the next day after having these dreams and write down IMMEDIATELY about what happened and try to correlate it as much as they can to reality so they can strategize this way?? Added bonus if they know they're perceived as a weak, helpless magicless student and use it to their advantage so that others constantly underestimate them too!!
Well firstly, I think someone has most likely written this kind of fanfiction before. It’s pretty common to “novelize” the main story but specifically featuring one’s own Yuu variant and/or to do a “fix” or canon divergent story. Not my thing so I just skip over those, but I’m certain I’ve at least skimmed fic summaries of this nature. Secondly, I don’t think it would make sense narratively (even for a more intelligent and proactive Yuu that has knowledge of Disney lore) to automatically suspect that their dreams correlate with real life events and that they should be alert for parallels. It’s assuming a lot of them, including that they’d have the hindsight before their first dream that their dreams are somehow prophetic. (I’m not counting time travel or time loop theory here, only what we know is canon right now.) That’s not really strategizing then, it’s jumping the gun and assuming that they’re a seer without enough cause to believe in it. Has this happened before to them in their original world? But dreams are rarely ever so closely associate with the things playing out 1:1 in the waking world. Why would Yuu develop this belief then??? I think they’d realistically start putting the pieces together maybe book 3 because 1 time (book 1) may just be coincidence + they wouldn’t be suspicious of anything, 2 times (book 2) is establishing a pattern, and then 3 times (book 3) would be enough times to firmly establish said pattern. It wouldn’t happen right off the bat. I also feel like this kind of Yuu would not work for the current (canon) story TWST wants to tell. Having all of this information and/or going out of their way to prevent things from happening because of their foresight might just cascade into many events not playing out at all, even if only halfway through the main book. It means they’d be highly wary of many characters and could successfully avoid the pitfalls they glimpse in their dreams. They could seek out the “villains” of their dreams, deduce the issue, smooth things out sooner, prevent OBs altogether. Very, very different events might play out. (And if the main story manages to stay roughly the same in spite of all the measures this Yuu takes, then what was the point of telling it all with this intentional smarter and more actionable Yuu to begin with???) Diverging from canon happens all the time in fan creations, as I’ve said earlier—and again, there’s nothing wrong with this. I just don’t know of this would “work” with the current set up without deviating considerably at a certain point. As for Yuu being perceived as a “weak, helpless magicless student” who “uses it to their advantage so others underestimate them too”… I feel like this is already done in canon, but very subtly and definitely relies a lot on player interpretation of what “kind” of Yuu they want to be. It’s already implied that Yuu is the strategist for battles, so they offer support in this way. Additionally, many characters recognize them for talents which lie beyond their magicless status. This includes the headmaster, who declares that Yuu has the makings of a beast tamer, and Rook, who gives Yuu the nickname “Trickster” for their cleverness. I believe that Yuu was even chosen to go for the harp in Beans Day because Jade was aware that the Monsters would underestimate Yuu and prioritize going after him , who is the more obvious threat. The world and its characters seem to constantly be telling us about Yuu’s strengths outside of a magical context, but they leave how Yuu actually makes use of their helplessness open ended for players to project as they like onto them. It’d definitely be interesting to see a Yuu that leans into and plays up their weaknesses, but I also think that it would require a skilled writer to successfully pull that off. If not done well, the Yuu may come off as more whiny/desperate or too pompous and locked in their own self-aggrandizing head space. Maybe we’ll get a Yuu that strategizes with their deliberate helplessness in a future installment of the manga? Could be interesting!

I don't know if you had talk about this but-
Fun fact: despite Yana(if i remember correctly, it's Yana who confirm it) say that the event is like alternate universe of the main story, some of the event did follow through some canon settings for events(?) Only(i also still having doubt.
I know the tapis rouge event already done a few weeks ago if not months ago, but i just found it when i watch it again.
Azul and Grim is the only one surprised by the reveal of Eric and Vil being father and son because Ace and Jamil was there when Vil reveal it in Vil's Scary Dress Vignettes(i know it's vignettes, but it'stechnically in the universe if said event so i add it), and the one who appear in that Vig was Ace, Ruggie, Floyd, Jamil, him and Rook, Ortho and Lastly Silver. In that Vig, Vil did reveal his father kinda subtle but at the same time enough to make people theorizing, which shown by Ace and Ortho.
Twst usually make dialog box that shows that everyone is surprised together or atleast shown that they also surprised, but in tapis only Azul was shown openly surprised, while Grim and Yuu(since we didn't get any dialog box) only show surprised expression, and Jamil and Ace didn't show any surprised and only surprised when the person himself arrived in person.
I think it's funny that the events may or may not follow some canon settings or lore that we may need to think of, especially if they had subtle references of previous event. What do you think about this?
I went back to confirm, and your description is correct!
In Vil's Scary Dress vignettes, Ace, Ruggie, Floyd, Jamil, Rook, Ortho, and Silver are in Pomefiore as Vil gives them lessons on how to do their makeup to match each of their dorms' Halloween costumes. (You'll notice that Ace and Jamil, two boys who would later visit Fairest City in Tapis Rouge , are present. Azul and Grim, meanwhile, are not present for Vil's makeup lessons.) It is in these vignettes (in the third one) that Vil reveals his father is Eric Venue: In 3-7 of Tapis Rouge , we actually get to meet Eric Venue face-to-face. It is here that Grim and Azul (who were not previously privy to this information in Vil's Scary Dress vignettes) express shock that Vil and Eric are related. There is no follow-up dialogue from either Ace or Jamil (who were already presented with this information in Vil's Scary Dress vignettes) expressing the same surprise. Their shock moreso comes from reacting to Eric's impressive accomplishments and/or the fact that they're able to meet such a famous person
The characters then get into a conversation about why Vil and Eric don't disclose their relation publicly. Then they move into formal introductions before finally settling in for food. While it’s true that most (if not all) vignettes and events are considered AUs, I think it’s more of a convenience so that the writers don’t need to worry about continuity or timeline issues when comparing vignettes/events to the main story or even to each other. How I see it is that vignettes and events are a little more free to have continuity or to reference each other (ie other vignettes and events, especially within the same “set”/“series”) and the main story (lest we forget instances like Fairy Gala: If ), than the main story can have continuity with or reference vignettes and events. This is likely because if all events and vignettes are AUs anyway, then the devs can casually pick and choose which details to acknowledge (like Ortho gaining free will post-book 6) and which to ignore. The few times when vignettes/events are mentioned in the main story, they are left vague enough so as to not allude to specific event stories such as the Culinary Crucible/Masterchef as a course or NRC’s charitable Halloween activities being mentioned briefly. There are no details which would imply certain ingredients/cooking partners (which would confirm Culinary Crucible/Masterchef events as “canon”) or Magicam Monsters, the Spectral Realm party, NBC, or Playful Land were experienced (which would confirm the Halloween events as “canon”). I have to wonder if the shock/non-shock at the Eric Venue-Vil relation was intentional or just coincidence 🤔 cuz that’s one hell of a long callback to make when I thought the whole point of delineating events and vignettes as AUs was to relieve the writers of the stress of keeping up continuity. This just seems like more trouble than it’s worth… but I guess we’ll never really know for sure, but either way I still appreciate this subtle detail.
raven-at-the-writing-deskAnonymous asked:Hello! I just wanna ask or clarify... isn't the reason that Lilia didn't give Silver his last name is because he said he wants Silver to choose who he wants to be? Or Silver is free to choose who he wants to be? Or I'm probably confusing it for a fanart I saw on Tumblr? Can you please confirm? Thanks!I think it’s just a headcanon provided by a fan art you saw? The game has yet to provide an official reason as to why Silver has not formally adopted Lilia’s surname. The closest thing I can think of is them not wanting to make their farther-son relationship known at school. Some have theorized maybe it’s because Silver doesn’t feel worthy enough to associate with to Lilia, as he has been shown in book 7 to have concerns about this. It’s a topic that is commonly speculated among fans though. Many of us also hope that Silver will take on Vanrouge by the end of book 7 🙏 Edit: Lilia states that Vanrouge is his “courtesy name”. In various eastern cultures, this is a second name granted to someone in addition to a given name once they reach adulthood. This lends credence to the idea that Silver, now fully matured, may also be given a second name.#twisted wonderland#twst#Silvet#Lilia Vanrouge#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#notes from the writing raven#question#book 7 spoilers#twst theory#twst theories#twisted wonderland theories#twisted wonderland theory1467

raven-at-the-writing-deskAnonymous asked:Sooo 👀 Miss Raven x Silver anyone?HELP 😭 Is this because of that one post I made…The only time I thought about this ship was back in 2021 for a creative thinking exercise. Looking back on it, I can kind of see the appeal?? Especially considering my own recently renewed interest in Silver— It’s definitely a very picturesque and delicate-looking fairy tale couple. The most Miss Raven interacts with Diasomnia is to work with them to fetch Malleus for important events and/or to deliver notes for meetings he misses… so I guess if we were to write an AU, Silver would be meeting her this way. Maybe Miss Raven’s so stunned to come across someone that’s just like the stereotypical princes she reads and writes about, both in looks and in demeanor. She’s too stunned to speak! … Which could lead to Silver misreading it as “oh, she’s scared of me” and making extra efforts to be welcoming (since he doesn’t want to sour the good will between Diasomnia and the headmaster’s child/errand runner). And since he seems to be the most approachable of the four, Miss Raven develops a habit of going to him when she needs something from that dorm… and it all goes downhill from there.Miss Raven develops a little crush but dismisses it because she thinks it’s immature (like, she believes she’s projecting unrealistic expectations onto him based on what she writes) or she’ll get over it eventually. Meanwhile Silver is over here very seriously—bless his denseness—saying things like, “I like spending time with you. I would stay by your side forever if I could. If you ever need help, just say the word and I’ll come running to your side.” STRAIGHT OUT OF A ROMANCE NOVEL, MY GUY.Now that we know a little more about Silver, I realize that he and Raven are both the types to compare themselves to others and talk themselves down. They lack some confidence in their own abilities and keep pushing themselves to meet an impossible standard, feeling as though they aren’t worthy of their loved ones… I definitely feel like they could bond over this and support each other in their endeavors. Like I mentioned in the post linked above, it could be something to help each other with their shortcomings—Raven nudging Silver awake, them through smile drills together, etc. It could also just be sitting down and talking through their emotions!Lilia, Sebek, and even Silver’s animal friends could be curious bystanders watching the events unfold and cheering them on. (Well, Sebek’s the one shaking Silver and loudly shouting declaring that he’s SO dense. “THIS HAPPENED IN ONE OF MY BOOKS,” he excitedly tells his fellow knight.) Lilia is the amused guardian who offers advice and gives little nudges when needed. The animals… they’re the nosy neighbors who gossip about their relationship and sometimes act as wingmen. Maybe the birds sing to set the mood or they fetch flowers for Silver to give as gifts. Only for the player to snap and back up away from him out of fear, cause not only has he put EVERYON in an eternal slumber, but he also made the second part of the halloween event happen. Malleus, i like you but, buddy even I gotta draw the line in the sand.[Referencing this post!]I highly doubt that (although that's definitely the reaction I would have if I were Yuu) 😅 The game really REALLY wants us to like Malleus and will probably only offer Yuu dialogue choices that convey sympathy and concern for him post-OB.
We haven't really been granted options to react super negatively to the circumstances, even if they are life-threatening or otherwise harmful to our wellbeing. In fact, a lot of Yuu's more "colorful" dialogue comes in mundane moments such as being annoyed with Grim or Crowley or... idk reacting with "muscly dog man" when seeing Jack for the first time.
I'm not even sure if Malleus is the type to ask for forgiveness? I feel like once he realizes the full gravity of what he has done, he'll retreat into self-loathing. (He tends to do this when he's upset about being forgotten or not invited.) All this time he's been flaunting this idea that a ruler has to assume responsibility for the happiness of their people--so the same also has to be true; a ruler has to be responsible for the sadness and pain that they have inflicted onto others. He'll have to finally grapple with the weight of his actions.
In hindsight, Endless Halloween Night really was a precursor and foreshadowing to the events of book 7. Malleus stopped time back then too, on top of deciding in advance what's best for everyone against their wills while also framing it all as "having good intentions". He's just repeating the very same behaviors. raven-at-the-writing-deskkoolade22 asked:this isn’t exactly a question, but has twisted wonderland ever expanded on gender norms before? I know in sunset savanna women seem to be highly respected, but it seems like that is a behavior unique to sunset savanna. It seems like gender discrimination might be uncommon in briar valley because Mallenoa was so respected by her subjects, but Sebek, silver, and grim were surprised to find out she was so self sufficient and powerful when they met her in Lilia’s dream (this is more my interpretation tho) . in the endless night event, silver tells a story about a warrior who taught for her country, which is a reference to mulan i think, and the person he is telling the story to is very surprised that the strong warrior is a girl. I think silver told that story to Leona but I don’t remember. I’ve heard that royal sword academy is a school boys and girls can both attend, but night raven college is one of the most prestigious magic schools out there, so it being boys only makes me wonder if gender is a part of magic politics, although we have been shown female characters who have high educations and magical abilities such as Mrs . RoseheartsGIF by anime-aesthetic80No, not really? It’s explicitly mentioned and touched upon in extended conversations maybe a total of… 3ish times. Of those instances, most are referring to the Sunset Savanna.Gender norms and politics are some of those elements of world-building that can come off as really ham-fisted and preachy if the characters stop everything altogether and just start expositing about it. Thankfully, TWST largely doesn’t take that “telling” route and instead “shows” us what they mean through subtle implications. Now, for the most part I think the gender norms of Twisted Wonderland are similar to the real world, but may be more progressive overall. For one, Twisted Wonderland has many male characters (both in NRC and beyond it) who openly wear cosmetics. No one ever comments on men wearing makeup or dressing up in a negative light. Sometimes they complain about putting makeup on (ie the effort) or certain fashions they don’t vibe with but never do they say it’s “not manly” for them to put on makeup/perfume/jewelry, care about their clothing, etc. Even the characters we traditionally think of as masculine (Jack, Leona, etc.) wear eyeliner and eyeshadow, jewelry, or try new styles of clothing. Floyd and Ace express interest in fashion. Vil and other characters wear heels. Jamil cares about the quality of textiles and Kalim is willing to buy tons of jewelry for himself (and his classmates!!) if the mood strikes him. Rook regularly compliments people’s looks and Cater has an eye for aesthetics too. Lilia brags that he is “cute” and likes to show off his cuteness to others. There's a whole group of students eager to learn more about makeup techniques from Vil (in his Halloween Dress vignettes). Idia, Jade, and Sebek see a photo of what they believe is Epel in a dress and automatically accept it. And, of course, we cannot forget our queen Vil, who champions the idea of challenging and redefining gender norms. He also shares these ideals with Epel, who has been called out by Vil for having “outdated” gender norms. Given that Vil is such a popular celebrity (5 million followers on Magicam), I get the impression that the sentiments he extols is a popular way of thinking and is the direction that TWST society wants to move toward. (This is assuming that his fans are mainly younger people.) The boys often “dress up” and wear different makeup when visiting new places such as Silk City and and Clock Town, so it appears that a lot of Twisted Wonderland society that we’ve explored leans more liberal when to comes to gender expression. There are also stereotypically gendered behaviors which aren’t frowned upon or reacted to negatively. For example, boys dancing with other boys in Glorious Masquerade, or Vil kissing his saviors (2 of which, Epel and Vil, are male) on the cheek. Cater is also notorious for “flirting” with both genders, especially to Vil, Leona, and Trey. When Epel does gender dancing as being girly in book 5, Vil even scolds him and acts as though Epel’s dating is extremely outdated (although this admittedly may reflect Vil’s personal views and not a general reflection of Twst society).Another detail I think is important is that many of the Great Seven—in fact, over half of them—are women. This is notable because oftentimes history glosses over the achievements and accomplishments of women in favor of their male peers. The fact that NRC and all of Twisted Wonderland seems to honor them in addition to their male counterparts says something. The G7 women aren’t even the only instance of female figures who shaped history. Azul and Floyd, for example, have brought up the Mermaid Princess on multiple occasions, talking about how her union with a human prince and personal efforts have strengthened the bond between land and sea.Gendered terms to refer to mages exist, but according to Lilia, “witches” and “wizards” are outdated (they were used during the human/fae war era of ~400 years ago). Currently, most prefer to use the gender neutral terms “mage” or sometimes “sorcerer”.There does not appear to be gender restrictions in terms of the modern day workforce either. We know of the boys’ family members who are great mages or hold significant power or status. Mrs. Rosehearts is an accomplished medical mage, Mrs. Ashengrotto runs the most popular restaurant in the Coral Sea and his grandmother is a benefactor to those in the neighborhood, Mrs. Shroud is STYX’s Chief Engineer, Meleanor is an integral leader of Briarland’s military forces, Maleficia is queen, etc. Even the women in more mundane roles play vital parts in their communities: Mrs. Clover is a baker alongside her husband, Mrs. Zigvolt assists her husband in his dental clinic, Granny Bucchi supports him as his only relative, Marja travels and helps sell her family’s produce, etc. There are many economic opportunities for women in this world. Some may point out that NRC is a prestigious all-boys school, so there aren’t opportunities for women in education. The same goes for RSA, which is another prestigious all/ boys school. To that, I say… that’s because NRC is a very limited scope of magic education as a whole. We don’t know how many other schools are out there or if all magic schools are boys only. It’s not impossible to think that there may be girls only or mixed schools out there—but the NRC cast are the ones this game focuses on, so we view things from that perspective. I’d also like to add that we only see male students from other schools because of meta reasons: 1) there are limited game assets, so some details are inaccurately conveyed by the live 2D models, and 2) this is a joseimuke, a game with a predominantly male cast aimed at a target audience of women. It makes sense that there wouldn’t be many live 2D assets for random female mobs. There isn’t any lore in-game or in other official materials which would imply that women are discriminated against in education or in the workforce. However, Twisted Wonderland at large seems to still perpetuate gender expectations and gendered traits as we understand them irl. There are some instances when the idea of women having traditionally feminine interests are mentioned: (Suitor Suit) Ace complains that his ex only liked romance and animal movies, disliked thrill rides, and preferred cute things and taking Magicam pics; (Birthday Boy) Cater also mentions his mother and older sisters having interests in making sweets and cute things. Additionally, as Anon mentions, in Endless Halloween Night, Silver shares the story of Mulan, who pretended to be a man to save her father from enlisting in the army. He told this tale to Jamil (not Leona!), who reacts with surprise when he learns that this capable warrior is a woman. At the same time, there are “masculine” expectations vaguely alluded to: Deuce states he is the “man” of his household, Epel of course worries about his manliness and sees Savanaclaw, the athletic dorm, as “cool”, etc.Of course, these gender norms are not pervasive nor are they the same everywhere in Twisted Wonderland. One extreme is demonstrated through Epel, who holds the most regressive beliefs prior to Vil’s influence. This leads me to believe that Harveston is one of these areas that perpetuates these beliefs—and when you think about its population, it makes sense. Epel tells us that his hometown is largely elderly people, who are more likely to hold conservative worldviews compared to young people. The community, being small and located pretty far from nearby urban centers, is also exposed to fewer ideas that differ from what they perceive as their “norm”. These factors will naturally shape its residents and inform how they interact with and perceive others.I actually think that Briar Valley would also be one of those areas with regressive gender norms for similar in-universe reasons as Harveston. Briar Valley is described to us as a region mainly populated by long-lived fae… meaning they are pretty old and more likely to be conservative. Not only that, but the area is very isolated and fae in general prefer to keep to their own kind. Briar Valley is also said to be opposed to change and new ideas and technology being introduced to their land. All of these factors suggest they would have more old-fashioned ideas about gender, not progressive ones. Meleanor and Maleficia may be widely respected and viewed as capable women, but I do not think it is fair to extrapolate how magically gifted monarchs of the Draconia bloodline are viewed to the governed population. It is more likely that they are the exception, not the rule. This better explains why Sebek and Silver, who are technically subjects of Briar Valley, are surprised to learn of a powerful princess. Their shock, as well as how Lilia describes human princesses as being meek and needing protection, also implies the usual gender norms. Given that humans seem to be the majority race in Twisted Wonderland, it means those gender expectations were predominant at the time. The Sunset Savanna is the only country we know of at the moment where women are noted to be viewed differently. According to Leona, he “respects women” since the women back in his home country are physically stronger and stronger-willed than men. (This may be a reference to how irl lionesses do most of the hunting.) It’s not uncommon to see women in high-ranking warrior or guard positions because of this. This implies that the gender roles are somewhat reversed here; women are the ones expected to be strong, not men.Slight tangent here: I don’t particularly subscribe to the idea that “strong” women are somehow better or more deserving of praise than “weak” women. It’s a fallacy that I see perpetuated way too often in media. True feminism does not mean demonizing what is seen as traditionally “feminine”, nor does it mean women can only be independent or strong by acting in traditionally “masculine” ways. Feminism means not judging or holding back women from pursuing whatever it is they want to do, be it a career of their own, homemaking, or anything in between. Women can be strong and admirable no matter what they choose to do with their lives.Okay, so Twisted Wonderland does operate on gender norms—but that does NOT inherently mean that Twisted Wonderland is a sexist hellscape. Gender discrimination is on a spectrum, and we’ve yet to see any blatantly regressive demands be taken as anything of real merit in TWST. If anything, they get clowned on and told off as much as Sebek is for his anti-human sentiments. And, as I’ve pointed out earlier, Twisted Wonderland on the whole appears to accept and normalizes things that may not be widely accepted irl— namely, men in makeup or in traditionally feminine fashion. There’s also many examples we can look to of regular women in power or jobs across the world of Twisted Wonderland. We also need to remember that TWST was penned by people who also live in a society of gender norms, so it’s expected for their lived experiences to also bleed into the worlds they create. It doesn’t make them bad people, it just makes them human. They write what they know and also play around with the ideas of different societies—those that skew in both directions (as we see with Harveston vs Sunset Savanna).#twisted wonderland#twst#twst analysis#twisted wonderland analysis#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#notes from the writing raven#question#twts theory#twst theories#twisted wonderland theory#twisted wonderland theories#Jack Howl#Leona Kingscholar#Epel Felmier#Azul Ashengrotto#Floyd Leech#Marja Felmier#Maleanor Draconia#Maleficia Draconia#Meleanor Draconia#Deuce Spade#Cater Diamond#Ace Trappola#Scarabia#Pomefiore#Lilia Vanrouge#Sebek Zigvolt#Silver#Vil Schoenheit… See all1050536

I was like, “The… The seasoning????? What???”I think the confusion between ピーマン (that other pepper variant) and パプリカ (bell pepper) was caused by a combination of a few things: EN localized Deuce’s least favorite food as “bell peppers”. The distinction between ピーマン and パプリカ may have been lost because of this, as it implies his least favorite food is also written as “bell pepper” in JP. I believe many western countries, particularly the U.S. and Canada (where EN initially launched), it’s common to find green bell peppers in the supermarkets. ピーマン is not exactly a green bell pepper (I can tell from your pictures that they’re more of a “deflated balloon” shape + you’ve pointed out that they taste differently). However, because people already have their own visual representation of a green bell pepper in their head, it’s easier to come to that conclusion. It’s Ace Trappola. He’s known to tease and bully everyone, friends included. It was such serendipitous coincidence that he of all characters participates in a cooking course featuring his bestie Deuce’s supposed least favorite food. For the people who say anime isn’t educational… I have learned more about vegetables from TWST than I have my entire academic life 🫑 Thank you again to littlelionears for explaining the difference between ピーマン vs パプリカ!Me, a hater of most peppers (except chili): they all taste the same, they all suck 😤#twisted wonderland#twst#Ace Trappola#Deuce Spade#twst en#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#twisted wonderland en#notes from the writing raven1571

I just find myself gravitating to one over the other depending on my mood 😂 It’s a little funny thinking about Leona picking a fight with Silver though… It would totally go over Silver’s head (which would only piss Leona off more). raven-at-the-writing-deskAnonymous asked:So...I was wondering if you had a post on information concerning Ace's older brother? Purely for research purposes of course...😅Ask, and you shall receive! This is a compilation of all the canon information I could find on Ace’s older brother. He has yet to be named, so 😅 errrr… I'll be referring to him as “Anippola" (as in “Trappola aniki”) in this post.Anippola is older than Ace by 7 years.According to Ace, his brother was even more excited about Ace getting into NRC than their parents were. Before Ace was accepted into NRC, his older brother would take him along with him to various places. He is an alumnus of NRC and was previously in Heartslabyul dorm; this is why Ace is not surprised when he, too, is sorted into Heartslabyul.Ace talks with his older brother over the phone. Sometimes they talk late into the night, which occasionally makes Ace late in the mornings. He “built up a whole repertoire of magic tricks” from his days as a NRC student. Ace learned them by playing watching, memorizing, and then finally replicating those magic tricks, since Anippola refused to tell him how to do them. It is through these kinds of experiences that Ace has become quite adaptable. He learned some sleight of hand tricks from their magicless father too.Whenever the Trappola men are together, they will challenge each other to pull off various tricks.Ace reports that his older brother told him "the most convincing lies are sprinkled with a dash of the truth". This implies that Ace may have learned how to lie so cleverly from Anippola, or at the very least was inspired by his advice.Ace's brother bought a luxury watch with his first paycheck. He framed it as though it was Ace's birthday gift, but then revealed the item was actually for himself and gave Ace an empty box instead.Anippola later apologized and gave Ace a box of candy, which annoyed his little brother (because Ace says he's not a little kid, of course he wouldn't be happy about receiving candy!)Another time, Anippola purposefully snuffed out the candles on Ace's birthday cake. This resulted in a fight between the brothers. From these stories, we can deduce that Anippola s a prankster. He did his 4th year NRC internship at a theme park management company designing shows and attractions. (The dialogue could also be interpreted as generally working in the entertainment industry, not specifically for the theme park company.) Anippola currently works for that same place. There is supposedly a picture of Ace's brother hung up in the hallway by the teacher's lounge. The photo is from when Anippola led the card solider parade for a Magical Shift/Spelldrive opening ceremony.Ace says his brother is not the type to make sweets for him.Anippola wasn't all too interested in dorm life.He told Ace about various ways to kill time at his dorm.Anippola told Ace a little about overblot.Ace describes Anippola as someone who is light-hearted, casual, and easy to get along with.Ace also admits that it can be advantageous to have an older brother, as they are an example to follow and could support him in that way. He specifically mentions school life and job hunting as examples.#twst#twisted wonderland#Ace Trappola#twst resource#twisted wonderland resource#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#question#notes from the writing raven455481
raven-at-the-writing-deskrumichel asked:I'm sort of confused on Silver's personality. I know the game typically portrays him as someone who is empathic/kindhearted/etc., but after looking through his battle lines and the Glorious Masquerade tower scene (where he's joshing with Sebek before they go to fight the flowers), it seems like he lets out a different part of his personality? Battle lines were sourced from the wiki.I initially thought it was exclusive to when he's fighting, but in his dorm uniform vignette, he's just praising Sebek's skills during their sparring (unless sparring vs. real fights prompt different reactions from him, but he doesn't seem to have the same cocky dialogue in book 7 either). For reference, I'm EN only.To those he considers his allies, yes, Silver is generally cordial (if not blunt) and empathetic. If it’s a situation where he has to protect his loved ones? Then Silver has to get serious and take down those threats. At the end of the day, he’s a knight and he has duties to tend to. However, it’s not so much of a confusingly merciless aspect to his character, erasing his empathy, or showing a hidden dark side to him 8as it is just another facet of who he is and an extension of his preexisting traits.Given the opportunity, Silver tends to opt for discussion first before attacking or deceiving. Notable examples of this include Fairy Gala: If (where he expresses guilt for tricking the fairies and suggests just talking with them instead) and Endless Halloween Night (where he attempts to speak with the ghosts… until his peers ruin it by preemptively attacking them). In the cases where he does have to resort to violence, it usually comes with this air of reluctance, he’s almost never the instigator (but instead follows someone else’s lead, like Jamil in Endless Halloween Night), and/or he apologizes to those he beats down (book 7). When listening to the audio for the battle lines (I’m not sure if you did this too or if you just read them), I don’t really get a sense of arrogance from how Silver speaks. They’re mostly pretty neutral and soft. Because of this, I don’t think he takes any genuine joy or pride in striking others down. It’s just… something that comes with the territory and the nature of what he does. A “necessary evil”, you might say.I cross referenced fan translations and native Japanese speakers in my own life about Silver’s battle lines. They seem to be pretty accurate, so the explanation for the can come down to a few things. One idea is that the Diasomnia students just speak melodramatically; this is something that Azul and Idia remark on in Glorious Masquerade:Having others misinterpret the meaning bc behind their words and body language is a detail that may ring especially true for Silver, as his Dorm Uniform vignettes center around a misunderstanding between him and some mob student peers. Lilia notes that while it may be easy for him, Silver’s father, to read and to understand Silver’s emotions and the intention behind them, this may not be true for others.Let’s circle back around to Silver and his identity. Being a knight is a Big Deal for him, who wants to have the power to protect the people he loves and to “pay back” what he feels is owes to his father. He even references the fruits of his training and physical prowess in various battle lines. The pride Silver has in his own power, then, comes from that selfless desire to fiercely defend the things he cherishes—but as his Dorm Uniform vignettes show us, it’s so easy to misinterpret his aloofness as something else. Due to this + the dramatic flair of the Diasomnia students, maybe some players misunderstood Silver’s battle lines as being more arrogant than he intended for them to be.Another idea that I think also makes a lot of sense is just how Silver perceives the situations he’s in. He’s able to be a lot more amicable when he’s fighting alongside Sebek, his childhood friend, fellow knight, and pseudo-little brother figure. They have known each other for so long that they can read each other’s true feelings and can perfectly coordinate their attacks with one another. Silver understands that Sebek lashes out because he’s embarrassed and this is how he shows affection; Sebek knows that Silver is empathetic and kind but that others fail to see if because of Silver’s stoicism, etc. They can afford to poke fun of each other while they train or do a practice sparring match—and Silver, being the older one, naturally feels a sense of pride seeing Sebek make improvements. In Glorious Masquerade, Silver and Sebek are panting and starting to get tired from fighting the fire lotuses… and yet they’re still able to lightly tease each other, pointing out that the other is slightly faltering. This is how they communicate with each other, because they both have too much pride to show weakness in front of their fellow knight. It is Sebek who suggests having a competition to see who can cut down the most flowers, NOT Silver. Knowing that Sebek is the type who conceals his emotions with fake bravado, it’s very likely that the competition was Sebek’s roundabout way of encouraging Silver and giving him motivation to keep fighting.Alright, now pay attention to Silver’s face between the first and second screenshots here:At first, Silver seems surprised. Almost immediately after, he’s doing that soft, lopsided grin while seemingly saying a really arrogant line about how he’s going to essentially mop the floor with Sebek and secure the victory. Looking at this scene from an outsider’s perspective, Silver’s weirdly being stuck-up to his friend in these dangerous circumstances… and that’s the thing, it’s the OUTSIDER’s perspective.Given how well the two know each other and their respective communication styles, I’d wager this scene isn’t how it appears on the surface level. Again, it is Sebek who suggests the competition… after he notices that the chips are down. Silver knows that Sebek is brash in his efforts to cheer others up. That is most likely what Sebek is doing now, and that’s why Silver so quickly rebounds from shock to smiling. When he says, “I was just worried about how I’d calm you down when you inevitably lost”, it doesn’t necessarily have to read as an ill-timed taunt. It could also read as Silver joking back to try and ease Sebek’s weariness and grant him some motivation too.Lastly, here’s the boring meta answer (booooooooo): things that are said or happen in battles/gameplay don’t always match up or make 100% sense in the context of the narrative. For example, playable characters don’t always have the same stats as when we battle them as mini-bosses, somehow you can have a whole team of the same character, etc. For Silver, the battle voice lines he has do not make sense for every battle he takes place in for the main story, and thus he may not truly be telling Silver Owls “Know your place” (which does, in fact, sound a little hostile OOC) when you deploy him to fight. You have to also consider that we have like… zero explanation for any battle lines other than they’re battle lines. This is completely unlike the main story which has tons of context and set-up.Thinking of it like this, we can clearly separate battle lines from lines of extended dialogue shown in the main story, vignettes, etc. It doesn’t mean the Silver we see in battles isn’t “real”, it just means the Silver we see in battle segments won’t accurately reflect his current state of being at that point in the story because he doesn’t have specialized voice lines to suit each scenario. Silver has always consistently been kind-hearted and willing to hear others out; this was not changed even in book 7. It only appears that he has oddly stuck-up and out of character voice lines because our brains want to stitch everything together into a single narrative even when the gameplay meta and the story meta don’t want to align. #twst#twisted wonderland#Silver#Sebek Zigvolt#Azul Ashengrotto#Idia Shroud#glorious masquerade spoilers#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#twst en#twisted wonderland en#question#notes from the writing raven#fairy gala if spoilers#endless halloween night spoilers#silver dorm uniform vignette spoilers#Lilia Vanrouge#twst analysis#twisted wonderland character analysis#Diasomnia#Malleus Draconia#twisted wonderland analysis#twst character analysis#twst theory#twst theories#twistef wonderland theories#twisted wonderland theory… See all17181

This is not an “EN error”, the use of “sons” and “brothers” here is accurate. When they say “sons” or “brothers”, they’re referring to Idia, Ortho (deceased), and Ortho (the robot). The implication here is that the Shroud parents consider the robo!Ortho Idia built as one of their “real” sons rather than a replacement or a substitute for the Ortho they lost all those years back. This idea is conveyed in the dialogue you screenshotted too: “Thank you for treating me like a real member of your family,” Ortho says. “You’re one of our beloved sons too, Or,” Mrs. Shroud reminds him. When you think about it, there being 3 Shroud “brothers” makes sense given what character Idia was twisted from: Hades, Lord of the Underworld. raven-at-the-writing-deskAnonymous asked:Hii! I wanted to ask ur opinion about where book 7 is going.. For you they will show us more of briar valley/ malleus parents/ maleficia or they will just continue with the dreams? I didnt like very much the last book 7 update, i would have prefered more lore, but i want to hear your opinionGIF by grettinaraAs I mentioned in my book 7 part 8 reaction post, Idia very clearly outlines a plan for us to hop around to all the students' dreams and recruiting them to help us take down Malleus as a group. Future updates will likely go in reverse main story order and "waking" all of the main cast boys (we already covered Diasomnia, Ignihyde, and Pomefiore, so next is Scarabia, Octavinelle, Savanaclaw, and then finally Heartslabyul) for the climactic confrontation. That's definitely where we're headed! There's no point in retreading Briar Valley or Draconia parents lore right now, as those were major points in Lilia's dream exclusively. A dream which, mind you, was staged in the past and we had to follow him not with the exclusive intention of learning more but to keep close to the "dreamer" for our own safety. Now that portion is done with and is no longer relevant to taking Malleus down. The crew has to focus on other things. (What are they gonna do, pause mid-battle and give a speech about the country's history to snap him out of it?/j)At most, we’ll return to Lilia’s dream to pick him up for the final fight? But he’s already awake now so I don’t think they’ll linger too long. Maybe late book 7 do a Raverne reveal and/or maybe we'll see Maleficia pay a visit at the end to scold Malleus, but neither of these are guarantees (especially the latter; the Granny Draconia reveal could be saved for a Briar Valley hometown event). If you wanna count this, Malleus's post-OB flashback might have a little lore??? But I do not think a lot or anything substantially new. Any other huge chunks of Briar Valley lore will most likely be addressed in another time and place. The main story was never really meant for depositing world lore or history, that sort of information is typically relegated to certain events; books 7 is an outlier in this regard. I don't think we should anticipate more from book 7 updates unless there's a diegetic reason for it--but again, since they're preparing for a fight right now, I don't see why there would be.#twst#twisted wonderland#Idia Shroud#Malleus Draconia#Lilia Vanrouge#Maleficia Draconia#Maleanor Draconia#Meleanor Draconia#Raverne Draconia#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#book 7 spoilers#book 7 part 7 spoilers#notes from the writing raven#question1169

Like explaining their interactions and how they actually think of one anotherMany fan works tend to depict Leona and Malleus as extremely antagonistic toward one another. However, the truth is that their relationship is more like a one sided dislike or annoyance (on Leona’s part). It’s not uncommon for them to bicker or have some tension in their conversations even when they have the same goal in mind such as protecting a harp (Beans Day) or wooing a ghost (although Malleus is not participating for the latter, Leona still insists the ghost would prefer him to Malleus to get that dig in). They’re definitely still on bad terms), but Malleus is generally pretty neutral with Leona unless he is provoked.Leona’s beef with Malleus is story relevant and makes itself known in book 2. He appears to primarily dislike Malleus because it is thanks to his sheer power that Diasomnia crushes Savanaclaw every inter-dorm tournament, essentially dashing Savanaclaw students’ hopes of being scouted and going pro. Buuut it seems like from the way Leona speaks about his rival, he has long since held these feelings and they aren’t linked to a single inciting incident.Part of why Leona dislikes Malleus in general seems to be Malleus’s attitude. Leona describes his fellow prince as “pretentious”, “high and mighty”, and acting in ways that show disrespect to him (like in Malleus’s Dorm Uniform vignettes, when he casted a spell meant for objects on Leona). He may also take issue with Malleus’s “incomprehensible fae humor”, which Leona references both during Halloween and in Malleus’s Ceremonial Robes. Additionally, Leona outright states that he hates people who refuse to listen (Silver) and just march to the beat of their own drum (Rook), which are traits you can argue also fits Malleus (since Malleus didn’t really listen to the upset dorm leaders in his Dorm Uniform vignettes). Leona appears to prefer dealing with Malleus to Silver though, as he says that Malleus’s ears aren’t just “for show”. Interestingly, Leona might dislike Malleus less than Rook; Leona is wary of so much as wishing Rook a happy birthday and refuses to dine next to Rook… yet Leona does sit next to Malleus at the end of Terror is Trending.Leona is one of the few students who isn’t afraid of Malleus and has the gall to openly insult him (or is rude) on more than one occasion. He doesn’t really show any remorse or intent to apologize. In fact, Leona understands very well what bothers Malleus and often acts on those points of weakness to goad him, whereas it is very rare for Malleus to start the fights. For example, Leona tells Malleus in Malleus’s Ceremonial Robes vignettes, “You thinkin’ you’re gonna get it next time? Well, sorry to break it to you, but no one’s ever gonna invite you,” and, “You’re never gonna have a chance to wear those robes, so put’em away for good already.” This, of course, angers Malleus and leads into the two insulting one another’s physical features and exchanging threats (removing horns, declawing, calling each other animals or implying a lack of humanity, etc.). They similarly insult one another in Terror is Trending (again, Leona instigates: “Hmph, look at Mr. High-Horse over here. Were you flattered to be asked [to have your picture taken]?”) and again in Fairy Gala (Leona again: “Ever consider gettin’ off your tail and cleanin’ up your fellow fae’s mess?”). I’m sure there are tons of other instances you could come up with; these are just the immediate ones that come to my mind. Leona is also resentful about the idea of ever asking for Malleus’s help. He’d rather ask anyone else, even Malleus’s second in command, than ask the guy himself. (This occurs in Tamashina Mina; Lilia suggests asking Malleus but Leona shuts him down and says he’d rather not ask the lizard for help.) Funnily enough, Lilia and Silver see these heated conversations as proof of Malleus and Leona’s friendship. I feel like this could also, in part, feed into Leona’s dislike of Malleus, as people having the wrong idea about your relationship can be irritating. Now, Malleus does appear to care about maintaining amicable relations with representatives of other countries. Often it is he who instructs Sebek to apologize to Leona for being rude—two major instances of this occur in Malleus’s Ceremonial Robes vignettes and during Vargas Camp. He even personally (and happily) welcomes Leona to Diasomnia in his Ceremonial Robes vignettes, viewing Leona as no different than any other guest. This goes into the realm of speculation (so please bear with me!!) but it could be said that Malleus has a very… unique view of friendship? So Lilia and Silver may not be too far off when they say that Leona and Malleus are chums in their own weird way. In Glorious Masquerade, Rollo poses a real threat to Malleus and to his people—yet when Malleus experiences genuine fear for the first time, he seems more excited at the novel feeling rather than cower as a result of it. Following the climax, Malleus still presents the song he had prepared as a gift of good will for NBC. He also proceeds to play with Rollo’s guilt to get him to agree to sharing a dance. And THEN Malleus says he looks forward to being invited again????? These are all quite friendly gestures for someone who put you and all your people in danger, my guy… 😂 So perhaps Malleus just gas a very different way of approaching friendships? Hard to say, but that’s some food for thought!Leona and Malleus have had moments of amicability, so it’s totally possible for them to get along. This happens primarily in Leona’s Union Jacket vignettes; in them, Malleus gifts the birthday boy an antique book in an ancient language (Leona’s best subject). The two then talk about enjoying the freedom of walking around town without an attendant or some servants trailing after them. Being of a similar social status, they are able to understand one another to some extent. This is going into another point of speculation, but I wonder if Leona and Malleus recognize their similarities beyond this interview. I certainly have; they’re both arrogant princes that deeply desire what the other prince has, and I feel that their animosity, in part, comes from this realization (whether conscious or unconscious). I certainly get the sense that some of Leona’s hatred of Malleus comes from seeing his own desires manifested in him—of being that coveted prince praised for his power, his people lavishing him with affirmations, a crown… All the things Leona doesn’t have.#twisted wonderland#twst#Leona Kingscholar#Malleus Draconoa#Diasomnia#Silver#Lilia Vanrouge#Rook Hunt#Rollo Flamme#malleus ceremonial robes vignette spoilers#terror is trending spoilers#fairy gala spoilers#notes from the writing raven#question#book 2 spoilers#vargas camp spoilers#glorious masquerade spoilers#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#Eliza#Ghost Bride#ghost marriage spoilers#rook beans camo vignette spoilers#leona union jacket vignette spoilers#tamashina mina spoilers24214
raven-at-the-writing-deskAnonymous asked:"Lilia Vanrouge is coming to court your single parents" does that include single dads because Vil's gonna have a heart attack finding out whom Eric Venue is dating /j[Referencing this post!]Omg, Lilia Vanrouge bisexual king??? It truly is pride month… 😳 Good for him, he's pulling all the single parents and living his best life!I never really thought about Eric and Lilia even meeting before, but it's definitely possible since the former is often traveling for work and the latter is often traveling too (but for leisure). Maybe they've already encountered each other in a foreign land! They could share a meal or talk about their travels and fashion together. I feel like Lilia's usual style is very cute and gothic while Eric's is more old-fashioned and refined, so it could be interesting hearing how they feel about how the other likes to dress.adqbhlerv13tqpwbDB Vil has indicated that he has no interest in learning who his biological mother is (not that they had a bad relationship or that she's dead, it's just that Vil isn't attached to her or even the idea of her)... but I wonder if he'd suddenly wish his biological mom was around, if only to stave off his dad from dating Lilia Vanrouge 💀#twst#twisted wonderland#Lilia Vanrouge#Eric Venue#Vil Schoenheit#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#canon x canon#notes from the writing raven#question#Eric Venue x Lilia Vanrouge#Lilia Vanrouge x Eric Venue212119

However, I'd prefer for others to make their own dividers/banners and not use mine.
It's not that these were particularly hard for me to make or that I feel as though I “own” them; I just like having my own signature thing so it's easy for people to tell at a glance that a post is coming from me, if that makes sense ^^

raven-at-the-writing-deskkoolade22 asked:good night, or whatever time of day it is for you 😅 i was never rly into the “traitor/evil ace” theories but book 7 has got me thinking; everyone who’s asleep has something that bothers them and so there dream is a simple solution to that, as an example epel being insecure about not feeling masculine so in his dream he’s big and buff. But I can’t think of any motivations like that for ace? So I wonder if maybe the game has intentionally not revealed personal details as a buildup for this book and we’ll find out something new abt him in his dream. The only others I could think of that don’t seem like they want to change anything are Jade and Floyd but I could be wrong. I never bought the traitor Ace theories either; he is genuinely friends with Yuu, Deuce, and Grim and does not have any obvious malicious intent toward them. (Why would he make the tedious trip back to Sage’s Island over the winter break to respond to Yuu’s SOS message if he didn’t actually value them? And, mind you, this is during a break he was very looking forward to—so much so that he was willing to make a deal with Azul to take the easy way out to pass final exams). If he “betrays” us at all, I definitely think it would be in a small way. Like maybe he makes a selfish decision that the rest of the group don’t agree with (such as throwing himself right at OB Malleus). This would be similar to how he is consistently the voice of dissent against powerful figures such as Riddle or Malleus. As for what’s “bothering” Ace, I believe we’ve already seen two big potential culprits: Yuu going back to their world and insecurities about not having developed his UM yet.The former is more vague, but it comes up early in book 7; when Grim and Deuce realize that they may not be able to see Yuu again once they return to their original world, Ace cheerily dismisses the idea and tells them they’re not even sure if this will work. It could be read like he was deflecting here, as if he’s in denial himself and is using cheer to tell others what he’s telling himself to cope with the situation. Bro would never outright admit that his true feelings because he’s cheeky like that 💀 The latter option is implied much earlier in the main story, all the way back in book 5. Ace has been needling Deuce the whole book about how he’s such a slow learner and how Deuce will never keep up with him. Then at the end of book 5, Ace has a quick throwaway line in which he expresses shock that Deuce got his UM before he did. We have yet to follow up on this point since book 6 had Adeuce knocked out cold and book 7 scarcely features them. If Ace’s coping mechanisms are anything like what his lines in book 7 imply, then Ace has not talked about the upsetting things and instead kept them to himself. Personally, I think this one is a solid concept that wouldn’t seem entirely out of left field, especially given that book 7 is making a show out of having every student use their at least UM once. There is perfect set-up for Ace to come into his own here.I think they’ll at least find something really convenient yet superficial for the other characters; after all, we pretty much got that with Rook. Maybe Floyd has the freedom to so whatever he wants without people getting on his case and Jade is free to live in the mountains among the mushrooms 😂 #twisted wonderland#twst#Ace Trappola#Rook Hunt#Jade Leech#Floyd Leech#Tweels#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#book 5 spoilers#book 7 spoilers#book 7 part 8 spoilers#notes from the writing raven#question#twst theory#twst theories#twisted wonderland theories#twisted wonderland theory#book 6 spoilers#Grim#Yuu#Deuce Spade#book 4 spoilers#book 3 spoilers#Azul Ashengrotto#Riddle Rosehearts#Malleus Draconia315197

This part expands on the reasons for why each character likes and dislikes the food that they do.

The staff do not have least favorite foods listed + other characters like Neige and Che'nya lack profiles, so they are not addressed here.Additionally, the reasoning behind some likes/dislikes are speculation or implied rather than outright stated as canon. I'm not fully reverting back to liking "vanilla" characters but instead it's mixing with my updated "villainous" interests and is resulting in a weird scenario of me trying my darndest to get Silver to break and go apeshit (while Silver is oblivious and confused about why I'm shouting at him to "step on me"; "... raven-at-the-writing-deskAnonymous asked:Hello! Just found your blog and I love how you explain yourself here :] Also, your oc is so cute 😭I'm here for some advice, since I'm still learning about the lore (started playing some months ago). I was thinking of making an oc who's a half fae, and I was thinking of the age thing similar to how Marcille from Dunmeshi ages (she's a half elf). But I didn't know Sebek was a half fae... And I read your post about him and his aging process, and he seems to age pretty similarly to humans...So I was thinking: do you think that's a "All Half Faes age like this" thing, or could it depend on the type of fae one of the parents is? Basically I want to know if I could still make him age like my original concept or if I'd have to change it HAHDHSBABD(my other idea is to just make him a full fae, since he'd also be a 3rd year I could just make him the exact same age as Malleus... but I'm still not sure, it doesn't convince me 😵💫 Do all faes age in the same way? Could he be "younger" than Malleus in fae years but still be in the same maturity/age range in human years? Idk if you have any info on that 😭 sorry if these are difficult questions! You just seem to know much more about it than I do and idk who to ask 😭😭😭)[Referencing this post!]Hello and thank you very much!! 🙇♀️ This may not be what you’re looking for, but I don’t think we can conclude one way or another right now. We just don’t have enough information; Sebek is the only half fae-half human character we know of in detail, and 1 is not a good sample size to draw our answers from.A few other half-fae we’re aware of are Sebek’s older brother and sister, which we know next to nothing about. The older brother is a graduate of NRC, but we don’t have a value for how long ago this was (or even what Big Bro Zigvolt is like personality-wise) so this can’t be used as a reliable metric for how they physically age or emotionally mature. We know there is life span variance among fae themselves based on the type they are. Whatever kind of fae Lilia is (it has yet to be entirely specified but I think he’s a bat fae?) can up up to 1000 years old. For dragon fae like Malleus, 1000 is considered the age of adulthood (so roughly 18ish for humans) and can live much, much longer. It’s not stated what the maximum age for Sebek’s kind (theorized to be crocodile) is, but we know it must be 500+ since his grandfather Baur was in his prime (as an adult) in the war era of ~500 years ago and is still alive but retired today. Again though, we can’t be sure how this variance would factor into the lifespan of a human-fae child. The current lore seems to suggest that Sebek and Silver aged similarly, at least as young children. They say that the other boy was one of the few close to their age in Briar Valley (most others are long-lived fae), and they share many childhood memories. That’s the only “evidence” I have of Sebek aging like a normal human. Even then, we cannot be entirely sure since it’s possible Sebek just stops physically aging once he hits a certain point. It’s also difficult for us to gauge how long-lived races age compared to others. Like, did Malleus age like a normal human up until a certain point and then his physical appearance plateaued at an older adolescent form??? Malleus looks like an older teenager/young adult even though he’s still “a child” by dragon fae standards. Then we have Lilia, who looks the same at 200 and at almost 700… but he looks way younger than Malleus. It’s implied that Lilia is getting up there in age but doesn’t appear elderly at all. Is that just their individual differences or is that the result of their species’ traits?? Again, we don’t know because we know so few fae to compare with.We also don’t know for sure how this aging impacts their mental and emotional maturity. Currently, Lilia is nearing 700 and Malleus is said to be 178 years of age; the maturity between those two is significant, but that’s probably because being 200 is considered “still a child” for dragon fae (500 is adolescence, so ~13ish?). The gap is too wide for us to discern anything about their development in the time between childhood and adulthood. It’s can also be hard to discern what is “immature” and what is general fae mischief or individual traits, as both Malleus and Lilia can be pranksters but Sebek isn’t. For now, I’m personally running with the idea that half fae-half human individuals have regular life expectancies until new lore is introduced which disproves it. I’m not going to draw any conclusions about the fae aging or development process, since that’s also left vague. If you’re making an OC, I don’t think you need to really sweat the details 😅 People bend canon lore all the time for fun, so…#twisted wonderland#twst#Sebek Zigvolt#Malleus Draconia#Lilia Vanrouge#Baur Zigvolt#Baul Zigvolt#Bal Zigvolt#Baal Zigvolt#disney twisted wonderland#disney twst#notes from the writing raven#question#advice#twst theory#twst theories#twisted wonderland theories#twisted wonderland theory#Silver#Diasomnia3666
