The Samahang Pisika ng Visayas at Mindanao (SPVM) (The Physics Society of Southern Philippines) cordially invites everyone to the 27th National Physics Conference, at the University of San Agustin, Iloilo City, Philippines, on October 23-25, 2025. The conference features several invited talks, contributed papers, and poster presentations providing platform for dynamic exchange of ideas, experiences and applications of physics and allied fields, and providing opportunities in strengthening future collaborative works.

About the Venue

The University of San Agustin – Iloilo, is a private Roman Catholic institution in Iloilo City, Philippines. It is operated by the Augustinian Province of Santo Niño de Cebu, Philippines, belonging to the Order of Saint Augustine. Founded in July 1904, it started as a school for boys with 40 students. In 1917, it became Colegio de San Agustin and later achieved university status in March 1953, becoming the first university in Western Visayas and the first Augustinian university in the Asia-Pacific region. The City of Iloilo coined as “City of Love”, is a highly urbanized city in the Philippines and the capital city of the Province of Iloilo. It is the regional center of the Western Visayas as well as the center of the Iloilo-Guimaras Metropolitan Area.  It is located on the southeastern coast of the island of Panay and is the commercial center of Panay and a regional center for sugar exports. How to Get There

By Air
Iloilo International Airport has daily flights to and from Manila, Cebu, General Santos City, Davao, Puerto Princesa, and Cagayan de Oro. For international travelers, there are direct routes to and from Hong Kong, Bangkok, and Singapore. Flying time to Iloilo from Manila is approximately 55 minutes.

Iloilo International Airport is 18 kilometers from the city proper and is accessible by jeepney, van, and taxi.

By Ferry
Iloilo City is 20 hours from Manila, sailing 12 times weekly; from Zamboanga City, General Santos City, and Cagayan de Oro City once weekly; Cebu is 12 hours with daily trips. Fastcrafts from Bacolod City take about one hour.  The Roll-on, Roll-off (RORO) sea and land transport system serves Iloilo-Manila on the Strong Republic Nautical Highway.
