I suggest that you make the file dimensions similar to 800x600 (like picrel), because that is the file dimensions of a lot of the classic soyjaks. I also suggest that you use the brush size at a range from 3-5 (preferrably 5 because that is also the brush size of many classic soyjaks), that way you should be able to better fit the artstyle, if you are still struggling, I suggest that you have a look at the classic soyjaks and their source images as inspiration.
