Yeah pretty much. I know crypto can be confusing or intimating. When the rebuilt site is complete I will look into easier options to donate. Originally I was concerned with getting doxxed but these days I have ran out of fucks to give.

But yeah.. If you don't care how crypto works and just want the basics, a wallet is your account that allows you to send/receive coins. A wallet comes with 2 account numbers or keys. A private key allows you to access the coins, your public one allows you to receive. If you use Coinbase or another exchange, you use wallets they control and you never get your private key. You could send it from your Coinbase wallet if you want. Or if you plan holding some for yourself transfer to a wallet you fully control, and then send out whatever from that wallet.

I use a VPS from a hosting provider. The first host I chose for this place took it down within a week if I remember right. It was a more mainstream host. After that I stumbled across an obscure hosting provider and gave them a shot. They've been great. I'd promote them but I don't want that to turn into a way to attack the place.

Yes. The past couple of months have been crazy hectic for me. Landlord raised my rent by 1k and I was forced to move suddenly (hence why I don't have a PC with internet right now). I would probably be homeless if not for the angel who donated XMR. I will stretch the rest of it out to keep this place online. If I ever touch the money in the bitcoin wallet, that is when you should worry. That is the emergency last resort money. All of this threw a wrench in releasing the updated version of the website. I hope to get that out before the end of the year.

That is ultra lame but doesn't break the rules. Anyone could scrape the site and do whatever with the data. However voting on your own accounts is against the rules, so this account and it's alt sara_neri have been banned.

I dont really have a problem removing it but other people have asked in the past and I refused. I should should probably stick to that policy. I adjusted the saint trophy to still be valid up to 5 downvotes.

Haven't received any new donations but hosting costs are still cheap enough to get by for a while on the initial donations received. Not shutting down any time soon. We're cruising. Have about $3000-$4000 of runway. When file hosting is implemented that is when things can get expensive. I believe catbox pays about $800-$1200 a month. When it comes to that maybe I'll open a patreon or have have a goat-sponsered ad space on the side to sustain the place (I will never use a major ad network). But it's not an issue right now. You're not going to wake up one day and get a page that won't load. As long as I can afford it or people donate enough to sustain the place, upgoat will be online. If that changes you will know in advance.

Good idea. I will add this to the new site. The old code base just isnt worth working on any longer. Should be out in a month or two at most.

I am going to implement a toggle or a system for content you are associated with. If you're posting to the same website or youtube account or whatever that content should be flagged with an account option to automatically filter it.
