Don't use electrum or any other Bitcoin apps on your phone and don't use any electronic devices like ledger. It's very easy to lose your Bitcoin if you don't know what you're doing and it's actually extremely complicated to sweep paper wallets and you can easily lose everything.
Consider a paper wallet like having a safe deposit box on a piece of paper. Whatever goes in there stays in there and nothing can touch it unless they get your private key. Don't ever spend the Bitcoin just look at it as offsetting whatever actual cash you're having to put out for your server cost and just watch it grow. Never spend your bitcoin. Never spend your bitcoin.
No I will say most people are smart will not want to send you Bitcoin for two reasons. Number one Bitcoin is their greatest investment and they absolutely hate to get rid of Bitcoin and would rather send you cash in the mail which goes down in value. Rather than cash out their Bitcoin to send to you.
The second reason is Bitcoin is traceable so anybody who sends Bitcoin to your address will be tagged to your address and they'll know that they're a voat user and one day that might be a problem.
That's because if those people ever want to spend their Bitcoin and they've sent you some Bitcoin from one of their own paper wallets then everybody can use very easy software to see that they already sent you some at vote from the same paper wallet. Last month 45gb. I haven't had any major ddos. Either that or cloudflare took care of them. There was an incident last month where we had like 500+ users all at once from China. I just blocked the whole country.

Whenever I get to to voat.xyz/ and get to the end of the page and click next I get to what I am calling "the second page". On that page the save function doesn't work. Doesn't even give the alert. I haven't looked into the site js to see why.

1. Start a bitcoin wallet; a "non custodial wallet" that isn't tied to anyone's name. Ask ChatGPT if you need specific instructions.
2. Just use Coinbase, because you dgaf. It will make your wallet and address for you. You will pay taxes, this way, though, so starting a separate non-profit to house the bank account your wallet is tied to might be smart.
Post the address on the sidebar of this site so that people can donate. Both AOU and Putt made plenty of money this way to easily afford their sites. AOU made enough Bitcoin with a smaller userbase than yours... "enough for the foreseeable future" and that was when Bitcoin was $16,000. It's now $100,000.
If I go this route it would be a cold wallet. Is this what you mean by "non custodial wallet"? I played around in electrum and I believe I understand all the concepts of bitcoin well enough.
If it received a large enough runway I would consider adding image and video support.

Bitaddress has been around since the beginning.it used JavaScript to generate private and public key pairs.
Don't use electrum or any other Bitcoin apps on your phone and don't use any electronic devices like ledger. It's very easy to lose your Bitcoin if you don't know what you're doing and it's actually extremely complicated to sweep paper wallets and you can easily lose everything.
Consider a paper wallet like having a safe deposit box on a piece of paper. Whatever goes in there stays in there and nothing can touch it unless they get your private key. Don't ever spend the Bitcoin just look at it as offsetting whatever actual cash you're having to put out for your server cost and just watch it grow. Never spend your bitcoin. Never spend your bitcoin.
No I will say most people are smart will not want to send you Bitcoin for two reasons. Number one Bitcoin is their greatest investment and they absolutely hate to get rid of Bitcoin and would rather send you cash in the mail which goes down in value. Rather than cash out their Bitcoin to send to you.
The second reason is Bitcoin is traceable so anybody who sends Bitcoin to your address will be tagged to your address and they'll know that they're a voat user and one day that might be a problem.
That's because if those people ever want to spend their Bitcoin and they've sent you some Bitcoin from one of their own paper wallets then everybody can use very easy software to see that they already sent you some at vote from the same paper wallet. In the disclosure requirements to be able to pay your taxes and things basically attach Bitcoin wallets to your name once you ever try to cash them out. Especially if you're trying to cash them out through Binance or coinbase or any of the US companies which require that
.
Frankly you could just get a PO box and post it here and people could send you some cash in the mail. Might help offset your cost a little bit and it's pretty damn easy for everybody to do.
The other option is to use monero which is completely anonymous and tell once again you want to go to binance or coinbase or someplace else and actually sell some of the monero for us cash.
So honestly I just post a PO box here and tell people to go get some envelopes and put a 10 or a 20 in the envelope and wrap some paper around it so it's not obvious as your 10 or 20 in there and put an old fashioned stamp on it with your PO box address and no return address and if they're really paranoid wear gloves when they do it to their fingerprints all on anything and you'll get maybe some cash in the mail.

Last month 45gb. I haven't had any major ddos. Either that or cloudflare took care of them. There was an incident last month where we had like 500+ users all at once from China. I just blocked the whole country.
It is a VPS. Not long ago I paid a litte bit more than that for a dedicated server (different website). I am out of the loop with prices these days. I know everything has gone up the past few years.

Back to the DDOS topic. Oldvoat reported that cloudflare had dumped them and I think it was supposedly because they hated free speech but the whole thing seemed dodgy.
