European security services are investigating whether a former Brussels-based Politico reporter was a spy for China, according to officials from three separate intelligence agencies.
The reporter is suspected of using her position as a journalist to cultivate potential targets working in Brussels-based international organizations, including by making sexual overtures towards officials in these institutions.
The investigation is still at an early stage.
