A recap of eligibility criteria
Eligibility for the Glacier Drop was determined by on-chain data from the snapshot. An address qualified by meeting these conditions:
- Eligible ecosystem: The address must belong to one of eight networks: Cardano, Bitcoin, Ethereum, Solana, XRP Ledger, BNB Chain, Avalanche, or Brave (BAT).
- Minimum balance: At the time of the snapshot, the address must have held a balance equivalent to at least $100 USD in its network's native token.
- Unsanctioned address: Addresses listed on the US Treasury's OFAC Specially Designated Nationals (SDN) list are not eligible.
For detailed claim eligibility, refer to the tokenomics and incentives paper.
Eligibility by chain
Over 33.6 million addresses met the eligibility criteria from the snapshot, and will be eligible to claim NIGHT during the Glacier Drop phase of the token distribution.
For Cardano addresses that incorporate a stake key, the allocation is proportional to the amount of ADA held by all the addresses that share the same stake key, and the number counts such a stake key as one address.
The following breakdown provides the specific eligibility numbers and conversion rates for each ecosystem, which determine the amount of NIGHT tokens available per native token in eligible addresses.
Cardano (ADA)
- Eligible addresses: 1,072,307
- Total ADA in eligible addresses: 34,625,739,041.5694
- NIGHT conversion rate: 1 ADA = 0.3466 NIGHT
Bitcoin (BTC)
- Eligible addresses: 17,562,278
- Total BTC in eligible addresses: 6,886,869.8803
- NIGHT conversion rate: 1 BTC = 696.9785 NIGHT
XRPL (XRP)
- Eligible addresses: 2,213,942
- Total XRP in eligible addresses: 62,855,372,792.9729
- NIGHT conversion rate: 1 XRP = 0.04173 NIGHT
Ethereum (ETH)
- Eligible addresses: 7,862,092
- Total ETH in eligible addresses: 45,442,617.1302
- NIGHT conversion rate: 1 ETH = 50.7321 NIGHT
Solana (SOL)
- Eligible addresses: 3,465,122
- Total SOL in eligible addresses: 479,404,491.8952
- NIGHT conversion rate: 1 SOL = 2.9809 NIGHT
BNB Chain (BNB)
- Eligible addresses: 1,213,677
- Total BNB in eligible addresses: 65,385,142.3122
- NIGHT conversion rate: 1 BNB = 12.1748 NIGHT
Avalanche (AVAX)
- Eligible addresses: 227,793
- Total AVAX in eligible addresses: 106,325,501.6718
- NIGHT conversion rate: 1 AVAX = 0.4070 NIGHT
Basic Attention Token (BAT)
- Eligible addresses: 24,605
- Total BAT in eligible addresses: 1,228,786,916.2762
- NIGHT conversion rate: 1 BAT = 0.002589 NIGHT
NIGHT token distribution percentages
The NIGHT token supply for the Glacier Drop is allocated with 50% for Cardano and 20% for Bitcoin participants. The remaining 30% is distributed proportionally among the other six ecosystems based on the total eligible value of their native tokens at the time of the snapshot. A more detailed explanation is available in the tokenomics and incentives whitepaper.
Based on the snapshot data the Glacier Drop allocations (rounded to two decimal places) between the eight ecosystems are:
- 12 billion NIGHT to Cardano (ADA) addresses (50.00%)
- 4.8 billion NIGHT to Bitcoin (BTC) addresses (20.00%)
- 2.6230 billion NIGHT to XRPL (XRP) addresses (10.93%)
- 2.3054 billion NIGHT to Ethereum (ETH) addresses (9.61%)
- 1.4291 billion NIGHT to Solana (SOL) addresses (5.95%)
- 796.0540 million NIGHT to BNB Chain (BNB) addresses (3.32%)
- 43.2753 million NIGHT to Avalanche (AVAX) addresses (0.18%)
- 3.1813 million NIGHT to Basic Attention Token (BAT) on Ethereum addresses (0.013%)
A more detailed description and visualisation of the multi-stage process will be published in the coming weeks.
Preparing for the claim
Participants can use the conversion rates in this post to estimate the amount of NIGHT tokens available from an eligible wallet. This calculation requires the native token balance of the wallet at the time of the snapshot, detailed in the previous post.
An eligibility checker tool will be available on the NIGHT Claim Portal at midnight.gd when the portal opens.
Detailed guides for the claim process will be available in the news section of the TGE website on the same day the portal goes live, along with a guide to verified compatible wallets.
Note: Unless otherwise stated, all numerical data is rounded to four decimal places for reporting purposes. This rounding process can introduce minor computational artifacts, which may result in a negligible difference between a reported total and the precise sum of its unrounded constituent values.
