Forget D2. Stop D3 now and take D3. Much better for the body. You are not a mushroom.

I take garden of life d3
The fact is doctors make their money from sick patients not the healthy ones.
Having a constant supply of sick patients enables the pharmaceutical companies to make more money.
This is the reason the RDA for vitamin d and magnesium are kept below optimal.
Research shows 50ng/ml 125 nmol/l is better at keeping patients out of hospital and reduces the incidence of infections and endothelial disfunction. and enables the inhibition of excess proinflammatory cytokines so doctors are lieing when they say 30ng/ml 75nmol/l is adequate, sufficient, optimal.
It is because Vit d2 is less effective than vit d3 doctors and pharmacists prescribe the less effective D2 and the least effective weekly bolus dosing.
The aim is to keep more patients in hospital for longer.
If you want to avoid hospitalization Take 5000 iu D3 in olive oil or fish oil, twice daily with a meal containing healthy saturated fat. (butter not marge)
D2 is not as effective per unit than D3, but it will help. When done, go to your favorite store and get some plain old vitamin D3. So long as you avoid super-cheap junk, brand does not matter. Get a big bottle of 2,000 or 5,000 IU capsules. Take 4,000 to 10,000 IU a day from here on out. Get re-tested in another month or so, and adjust daily intake to reach ~60ng (150nmol), or a bit higher.
