Creative Lead / Creative Strategy
Drive iconic partnerships. Power the brands that shape culture.
Vinyl Media, home to the world’s most influential cultural brands, is searching for a creative mind at the forefront of culture and what’s next.
You’ll help ideate, develop, and shape bold creative ideas that run across our premium publishing network, spanning Rolling Stone, Variety, Hypebeast, Refinery29, Concrete Playground, Life Without Andy, and more.
About the Role
This role sits within our Creative Solutions and Strategy division, the beating heart of Vinyl Media’s Studio team. (Note: this is not an Art Director or Graphic Design role.)
Creative at Vinyl Media is a bridge between our storytelling and commercial worlds, the team that transforms brand ambition into ideas that live, breathe, and move through culture.
As a Creative Lead, you’ll be a cultural custodian, helping Vinyl Media develop concepts and win briefs through entertaining, insightful, and nuanced creative responses.
Your ideas might manifest as editorial, video, brand activations, or earned media campaigns — whatever the brief demands to build relevance and emotional connection for brands trying to reach the hard-to-access youth market.
You understand the line between authentic and contrived branded content. Your ideas meet audiences at eye level, and your concepts naturally integrate brands into culture — not the other way around.
You know how to balance a big idea with a smart budget and can collaborate closely with Production and Sales leads to make both work. You’re fluent in taking complex briefs and translating them into clear, intelligent creative solutions. In short: you make great content — and you know how to weave brand stories into it with purpose and style.
What You’ll Do
Your day-to-day will include:
- Ideating and developing creative responses to briefs
- Wordsmithing and story-shaping within pitch decks
- Collaborating across teams to build and present winning ideas
You likely come from a content or publishing background, though you might also have agency experience. Above all, you’re a storyteller, someone who can elevate a simple ask into an elegant idea that makes people smile, laugh, or think differently.
You’re deeply connected to culture — from music, fashion, and streetwear to emerging trends and talent. You know who and what moves the needle, and you probably have a few names in your phone to prove it.
About You
- 3+ years of professional experience in content, media, advertising, or creative strategy
- Deep understanding of video content and entertainment
- Strong grasp of youth culture across music, fashion, streetwear, and pop culture
- Excellent writing, communication, and presentation skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
- Comfortable taking feedback, navigating rebriefs, and maintaining creative momentum
