Where do we even start with Christof & Danny’s incredible wedding day?

We genuinely spent the entire morning feeling like we’d accidentally stepped into a styled shoot because just look at how stylish this couple are!

There were happy tears, nervous hugs, huge smiles, big laughs (especially during grandads speech) and some exceptional dance moves in the evening 🎉

We are Emily & Micah. Husband & Wife photography duo based across the North East & Yorkshire, UK.

A few things about us…

- If there is a dog at your wedding…we will need to hug them

- We love the outdoors (especially the coast) and going for walks with our pug Anna. Though usually we end up carrying her!

- We are the documentary with a glass of red wine on an evening types

- Although if you do catch us on a rare night out it will either be for a pizza or a gig 🤟🏻

- We are not just your photographers we are also your pep talkers, dress sorters, dog carriers, guest wranglers and whatever you need doing on the day-ers 🧡

We always chat about “capturing moments” and being candid and documentary style (while of course loving those more editorial, stylish moments in the portraits) so here’s a little true story moment…

The groom split his trousers on the dance floor busting a move…it was hilarious and as you can see everyone else at the wedding agreed 😂

If you scroll along you’ll also see the wonderful Mother of the bride who spent some of the rest of her evening sewing said pants up while the groom hung out in the bathroom until he could return triumphant to the dance floor again 🎉

If I’m photographing your wedding I’ll be taking photos of hands…your hands, guests hands, hands holding, hands giving hugs, hands taking canapés, excited hands ready with confetti, hands wiping away happy tears…

There is SO much emotion to be found in images where maybe people’s faces aren’t there, but they tell a part of the story of the day.

Part of being a documentary style wedding photographer means looking for little moments, bits of the day you might have otherwise missed, and the details that make up the day…

So yes…of course almost all of the gallery will contain faces, smiles and laughs…but expect some hands too 😂❤️

It has been *almost* a year since April & Richard said I do at @doubletreehiltonhull and since their gorgeous anniversary is also falling on the due date for our upcoming arrival it seemed online right to share this a little early just in case ❤️

This was such a beautiful day spent with a couple who you could just tell are totally obsessed with each other and were absolutely up for having fun and celebrating together ✨

The group photos on a wedding day are so special because they are a record of the important people who have gathered for your big day…

Whether you are having a small wedding with just your witnesses or a huge wedding, whether you want your portraits to feel formal and classic or fun and relaxed…we always recommend having at least a few group photos on the day because let’s be honest, they are the ones your family will want for their frame 🤍

So here are our top tips for keeping this part of the day as smooth as possible…

✨ Choose your groups ahead of time. We recommend around 8-10 formal group photos on the day and ask you to fill them out in advance a few weeks before the day so you can just be in the moment on the day itself

✨ Mention to the people who will be in the family/group photos that they will be needed so they don’t wander too far after the ceremony

✨ Don’t worry about having a formal photo with everyone…choose the really important photos first and then throughout the day you can grab photos with other guests and people you love

✨ Remember you can’t control the weather (especially in the UK) so it is worth having an idea of where you could take your photos indoors if the weather isn’t playing nicely on the day!
