I’m extremely grateful to and of for working with me on this bill to end child transition. The NDP voted it down on first reading, which is NEVER done. Bills always go to second reading as a matter of courtesy and as a matter of basic democracy, but trans is the sacred religion of the NDP so they couldn’t even let it go past first reading. We knew this would happen, but this is all part of the process. We started tens of thousands of conversations today, generated media, moved the Overton Window, and hopefully inspired conservative parties in other provinces to finally get going and address this issue. I also gave a 90-minute presentation inside the legislature. banned all BC Conservative Party MLAs from attending, but it was standing room only with members of the public. The culture of no discussion is over!
