🇺🇸 FCC has taken the initial step to revoke the authority of 🇭🇰 HKT (International) Limited to provide international and domestic telecom services to and within the US. Specifically, the Commission’s Office of International Affairs (OIA), Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB), and Enforcement Bureau (EB), sent an Order to Show Cause to HKT and its wholly-owned subsidiaries directing them to explain why the FCC should not commence revocation proceedings against them. As the Order to Show Cause indicates, HKT is affiliated with a 🇨🇳 CCP-controlled entity — China Unicom (Americas) — that is already listed on the FCC’s Covered List due to national security determinations. fcc.gov/document/fcc-m
