scy<p>Also, I've noticed that in contrast to some series where you have to watch two, three, maybe four episodes to let it unfold and allow you to find out whether you like it, in Californication, the pilot episode is sufficient.</p><p>I haven't seen all seven seasons yet, but at least the first three or four, and the pilot is pretty representative. If you enjoyed that, you'll probably enjoy the rest of the series. If you didn't, chances are you won't.</p><p>(It maybe gets a bit more serious than the pilot.)</p>
scy<p>Yes there's a lot of sex, and a lot of jokes and stuff, and a lot of things that would be highly inappropriate these days, but frankly what I'm most looking forward to is the interpersonal stuff and Hank's character arc.</p><p>Everyone in Californication is a hot mess, and everyone is trying their best, and is struggling a _lot_. Everyone is making mistakes and has to live with it.</p><p>That's what makes them human, and that's what I like about this series.</p>
