Sally the couch potato queen 2/2 Sally endered her private bedroom with large dark bags under her eyes, walking over to her bed she plopped face first into the soft pillowy mattress with a soft thud sound, Sally had passed out before she even landed into her bed. The last seven days were some of the most stressful of the princesses' life. On Top of her usual duties running her kingdom she had also been intervening to stop tensions between two rival territories that had been brewing for a few years, dealing with a storm that had destroyed very imported trade ships, dealing with suiters, a rampant crime wave, and attending a royal party she was invited to, Sally would have turned down the party invite but it would’ve been rude. Sally barely got any sleep during this time and had just gotten done with all of that, and thankfully she didn’t have anything important to do for a good long while, something she hadn’t had in years. That night Sally sleeps in complete relaxing blessing for many hours, still fully clothed in her royal gowns, her hair a uttermess of loose frizzled strands, and only her upper half on the bed.
The next day Sally awoke in a daze from a knock on her door, “Your Highness!” came the voice of one of her knights from behind the door. Sally groaned in response, “uh, Your Highness?” “mmm” Sally shifted her sleeping position causing her to slowly fall on the floor, taking the blanket with her. Her eye’s opened no more than an inch before quietly moaning, “Harrumph, go away, I'm too tired,” before wrapping herself in the blanket and drifting off to sleep once more. The knight stood in place for a minute or two, “Her Highness must still be asleep. I’ll just set this here for now, the blasted thing is heavy anyway.” He placed the box he had been carrying next to the door and left.
A couple hours later Sally was awake once more, feeling very refreshed and rejuvenated. Sally slowly stood up, dusting herself off and fixing up her bed. Checking the time she decided to take a short walk throughout the castle to decide what she should do with her free time, when all of the sudden she stubbed her toe on something placed on the floor. It was a big box wrapped in colorful paper with a big bow, “Another gift?” she thought to herself. Recently she had been treated to gift’s upon gifts, it was beginning to worry her. She had been given gifts from time to time but never this much, she would always accept the gifts out of kindness but usually never kept them, secretly. Sally was thinking it was probably because everyone was beginning to worry her, she couldn't blame them, even though she sometimes worried about herself, but all she really wanted was a break from the sleepless days, to catch up with old friends and have adventures like the good days. Sally shook the thoughts out of her head and dragged the heavy box into her room.
Sally tore off the wrapping paper with a satisfying tearing sound. The gift was revealed to be a TV set that came with all the channels and latest streaming services. “A TV? Well this is definitely different.” Sally wasn’t quite sure what she would ever need a TV for but it wouldn't hurt to take it out of the box and give it a look. Sally opened up a box that someone thoughtfully already opened up for her, lifting up the TV Sally struggled a bit to keep a good grip onto the heavy TV. Sally ended up just placing the TV onto the floor, pushing it into the corner of her room for the time being. Inspecting the TV Sally noticed that there weren't any wires, not that it would matter considering she was in a castle and all. Sally found the manual lay at the bottom of the box and flipped through the pages, eventually she found a page that read, “HOW TO TURN ON TELEVISION” in bold capital letters. “This television set, by using the latest technological advancement, does not require any cable or electricity to function. Instead each set comes prebuilt with an solar powered battery that lasts up to 76 full hours. (WARNING: we are not liable for any burn marks caused by touching the built in solar panel.)” “Fascinating,” Sally said to herself, “better remember that last part though.”
Sally held the TV remote in her hand and turned on the TV, static filling the screen with empty silence. Earlier when reading the instruction booklet, Sally noted that it stated there was a button for channel and a different one for streaming. Pressing the button for cable the TV quickly flickered away from the static, CHANNEL 1 appeared in the top right corner before quickly disappearing. Channel 1 was the channel for the kingdom's local news which Sally had no need to watch since she was princess and all. Sally flipped through the channels, changing every few trying to find something that would interest her. There were reality shows, sports channels, cartoons for both children and adults, and a vast variety of other things as well. Sally just laid in her bed flipping through channels with a blank expression on her face, when suddenly her stomach growled and her belly ached of emptiness. “Uugh!” the princess moaned, she hadn’t eaten anything since lunch yesterday, skipping dinner to quickly finish some paperwork and sleeping past breakfast. Sally tried to stand by falling back into her bed, her aching hungry stomach too much to bear. It was then that Sally remembered her stash of snacks that she had been gifted, keeping some in a secret compartment whenever she wanted a late night snack or just wanted to munch on something less “fancy.” Sally took out a small bag of chips, a slice from a tightly wrapped apple pie, and a chill dog. Sally didn’t care that it had gotten cold as she had become slightly addicted to the stuff. She quickly ate the food, leaning over her bed so as to not get any crumbs before going back to flipping through channels.
Time flew by quickly, the only sounds to be heard was the clicking of buttons, the staticy flickering of channels, and the crunching munching sounds of a chipmunk snacking. Eventually Sally landed on something that she found interesting enough to fully watch. It was a show about a war that gripped the world in chaos and despair, and it was up to one child and her band of friends, alongside her love interest who was quite snarky, to bring an end to the war and to find their families. The show was animated in a 2-D hand drawn style, the picture was a slight bit grainy and looked a bit old, but just by looking you could tell a lot of love and care was placed into every frame. Sally didn’t quite understand what was happening in the plot though, random plot points were thrown around as if she should have already known, strange terms and names were used for things she couldn't understand, yet even with the lack of understanding she was drawn into the show. Sally wasn’t exactly sure but something about the show just clicked with her, made want to watch more, made her want to know more about this fictional world. “Oh man, this reminds me of the good ‘ol days.” Sally reminisces about her youthful days, fighting robots, being with friends, and…Sonic. Sally snapped out of her thoughts back to reality as the episode ended and the credits rolled, “Well I think that is enough for today.” Sally turned off the TV, “I’m going to take a little stroll around the castle, later I’ll have to remember to find the rest of that show.” Sally grabbed herself an extra chilli dog for the road and left her room.
The next day Sally had just awoken, thankfully at a more reasonable time than before, in fact it was actually earlier than usual, most likely due to Sally getting an early night's sleep for once. Sally rubbed her eyes and yawned, it was 5 AM in the morning and she didn’t have anything important to do for a few hours. This was very pleasing for her as she already knew what she was going to do to pass the time. Grabbing the remote, Sally turned the TV, this time pressing the streaming button, and was met with multiple rows and rows of streaming services. Sally checked each one, searching for the show that peaked her interest but none of the channels had it, some did have a season or two but it was obvious that some were missing, and some did have it but was “not streaming right now,” which seemed very odd and a bit dumb that it was still listed if you couldn’t watch it. A few minutes of searching later Sally finally found a service streaming the show, it was called something like “Crunchyroll” she didn’t pay much attention to the actual name of the service so she wasn’t totally sure, but that didn’t matter right now.
Starting up the first episode Sally was greeted with the same intro as the first episode she watched. The episode explained many questions that Sally had asked before, mainly about how this war started and the general lore. While watching however Sally did notice a few key differences, for starters the main character’s (who was named Sophie) voice soundly slightly different, and the animation was a bit less polished with a couple of noticeable animation errors. Sally didn’t really pay too much mind to these details, after all it was the first episode of a show that looked to be a bit old, besides, what she really cared about was the story, which managed to suck her in even more with every minute. As the episode ended, leaving on a cliffhanger, Sally checked the time once more, 5:30. “It’s still a little early for breakfast, One more episode wouldn’t hurt right?”
Sally grabbed herself a few more snacks and continued on with episode 2, then episode 3, and before she knew it, Sally had already gotten herself in six episodes in. Checking the time once more Sally nearly choked on a chilli dog she was eating, “8 O’ CLOCK! Have I really been watching this show for that long?” Sally quickly paused in the middle of the episode and got herself dressed. Dashing out the door and quickly tip-toeing out down the stairs so as to not trip on her dress, “It’s a good thing I have that clock, otherwise who knows how much time would have passed.” Sally made sure to get all the things she needed to do today done as fast as she could, as she did so though she would begin to space out for short interfowls of time. She was thinking about that show and wanting to watch more, yearning to see what happens next. As she grew more lost in thought a slight smile formed on her face, slight enough that Sally never noticed before regaining full consciousness and returning to her work.
Hours later Sally returned to her room, faster than when she left. The TV was still on, so Sally returned to her spot, eating away and watching the show she had grown to love. She laid there for hours and hours until it was time for bed. Sally was covered in crumbs from her snacks, and a couple stains which should be easy to wash out. The last episode she watched that night was the season finale, it was the best episode of the season in her opinion, with the best battle scene too. As the credits rolled Sally backed out of the episode, after finishing the first season she was interested in knowing how many more there were. Sally’s mouth dropped, there were a total of nine more seasons. Watching all those episodes would take weeks, and with her always busy schedule it could take months, maybe even a year. Then Sally had a thought, a brilliant thought.
Next morning Sally got up and immediately went to do her duties, she spent the entire day non stop working on what she needed to do not just for today, but the entire month and then some. Everyone around the castle noticed the princesses fast pace speeds going from one task to another, so guards and even the royal advisor himself tried to get her attention to ask why she was going so fast, but Sally was to focused on getting everything done that she never even noticed someone else was in the same room as her. The sun soon disappeared over the horizon yet the princess kept on working all the way until three days later, without taking a single second of rest. Once Sally had finally finished she slowly lowered herself to her bedroom, gripping onto the stair rails for dear life as she felt that she could trip and fall at any moment. She looked disheveled, eyes sunken in like black pits, hair and fur frizzled, mouth slightly hung open, and stiff joints from sitting in one place for so long. Eventually she made it, opening the door she saw a large box that was full of snacks she had ordered just for this occasion. Crawling into bed she took the remote in her hand and was about to continue onto the second season, before immediately passing out, snoring loudly into the night.
Sally spent the next week staying in her room watching her show, laying on a couch she had brought into her room to leave crumbs on her bed. During her binge watch Sally never left her room unless she absolutely needed to for whatever reason, aside from that Sally was glued to the couch, only moving to shift her position. Every day her room became more and more of a mess, bags, wrappers, boxes, cartens, cans, bottles, and pieces of food that had fallen on the floor littered the room, mainly around the couch. Much like her room Sally herself was also a mess, crumbs and stains covered her mouth and she munched and chewed away, crumbs and stains also littered her cloths and even some trash as well, her hair and fur, overgrown from previous months of no haircut, grew longer, knotted and all over the place, the only thing good about it was that Sally found it could be used as way to carry stuff like extra snacks. Sally was lost in her own little world watching her show, and whenever she had to leave to carry out some task it sometimes took 30 minutes just to push herself to leave.
Whenever she did manage to leave everyone around the castle began to notice some… “differences” with their beloved princess. Her obsessive snack eating habits had caused her to, to put it lightly, gain a “bit” of weight, at least 100 pounds or so. Her once slender frame became a bit more round, a slight bit of pudge inglot her fingers, and you could just make out the faint outline of an extra chin. Sally didn’t notice the changes to her body, she was enjoying the show too much to notice, let alone care. Nobody in the castle questioned the princess on this, mostly out of not wanting to seem disrespectful, but also because they just assumed it wasn’t that big a deal, after all she seemed a lot more happy recently, and that's all the matter to them, their princesses smile.
Sally watched and watched and watched, day and night, AM to PM, she was addicted. Every few hours when Sally began to fade in and out of consciousness she would take a quick power nap, waking up soon after and continuing. Never once did she want to quiet her binge, even during some of the show's worst episodes, with some of the more awful writing she’d ever seen, though there were a few times she came close to just chucking the TV out the window in rage. One time during a particularly bad episode where basically everything about it was truly abhorrent she was so enraged she threw a half empty soda can as hard as she could, accidentally hitting her clock and breaking it, leaving sticky sugary stains all over the wall and floor, “Uh Oh.” Sally thought, “eh, I can just get a new one, eventually.”
Over a week had passed, the princess was messy, her room a pigsty, and the credits of the final episode were rolling. It had been a truly grand final, every remaining question had been answered and every character's story completed. Sally smiled, happy to reach the end. Yet as the credits reached its end, Sally came to a slow realization, it was over, there was nothing left to watch. Sally had nothing else to watch, and she would have to go back to her tiresome work. As Sally sorrowfully headed to the door, her belly jiggling slightly with each step I thought came to the back of her mind, “You should just do it tomorrow, after all, you can put it off for a day or two.” Sally knew she needed to do her duties, but turning back to look at that comfy couch she just couldn’t resist.
The next few days were nothing but a blur as Sally switched from cable to streaming, trying to find something new to watch, but alias, nothing. Sally’s sense of time had been disturbed, with her only means of telling time, which was the currently broken clock on the ground, being, well, broken, Sally didn't even know if a day had passed. None of it mattered to her, her mind nearly blank as she mindlessly watched the screen. No one had seen the princess in three days and they soon began to worry, one even tried knocking on her door. “Your majesty! Are you okay? You’ve been in there for days, when will you come out?” There was a brief few minute pause as Sally processed his words before responding with, “Maybe tomorrow.”
Things began to brighten for the TV-addicted princess as when checking that “Crunchyroll” again, she was thinking about just getting up and finally stepping out of her room, but what she found surprised her. It was her! The main character from the show had finished not too long ago, but it wasn’t the same show, no, it was titled differently. Immediately after Sally found more, she couldn’t believe it, all this time she never knew that her show had spinoffs. Sally wasted no time grabbing every snack she had left, stuffing her face with an extra large chilli dog and continuing her second binge. This time it lasted over twice as long as the first, and this time she never once got up from the coach.
Sally looked more and more like a gluttonous pig, rather than the beautiful chipmunk she once was. Sally’s face was a saggy mass of flab, she chubby fluffy cheeks usually full of food, her lips and surrounding mouth and even her fully formed double chin, stained with grease, sauces, and crumbs that would periodically be licked away by her tongue, and her eye’s were strained from looking at the screen for so long. Her clothes hadn't been changed in a while, keeping every single stain preserved. Chubby digits coated in cheese dust attached to a meaty paw crammed delicious junk into an every hungry maw. Trash littered the room and began to stink it up a bit. Her hair was an overgrown mess, the bangs beginning to get into her eyes, and bits of food and trash became tangled in her knots, as if they were hair pins. Worst of all was her stomach. It had grown large and chubby, poking out like a sore thumb. Even with all of this the princess was too busy being involved in what she watched to even comprehend what had happened to her.
Meanwhile everyone became more worried by each passing day. Not a soul had seen her in a concerning amount of time, and a faint foul smell was emanating from her room, leaning up to her door you could hear the loud chewing of food and the sounds coming from the TV. More and More would come to the door, nervous and worried, “Your majesty! You have been locked in your room for over a week, we have begun to worry. When will you come out?” And everytime they asked, the only response they got was, “Maybe tomorrow.” Neglecting her duties, work began piling up, causing the royal advisor to pick up the slack. It took many sleepless nights to get it all done, just to have more work to do, “HOW MUCH MORE COULD THERE BE!” he shouted in rage. His eyes twitched, he was tired, too tired, tired enough to fall asleep right then and there, which he promptly did. He was found the next morning by one of the guards. Climbing back into the chair he still felt tired but could thankfully think straight. As a royal advisor you are always very busy, but this was on another level, especially for just one person to do. His face dropped, “Is this how her majesty feels when doing all this?” He pondered, feeling the sharp tingly sensation of guilt coursing through his body, guilt about the princess having to do this for all these years, guilt for never once considering how she must have felt having to do all this work by herself. The guilt started to spread more and more as he thought of more things to be guilty about, guilt about having her sheltered from everyone, including her friends, guilt from having her wear that outfit she despised so much, and most importantly, guilt about never actually asking her maj- no, Sally, why she looked so glum.
Eventually, just like before, it all came to an end, as the true final credits rolled, and Sally became glum once again. She didn’t want to see the end of the show, of its characters, of its world that she had been so engrossed in. She especially didn’t want to see the end of the amazing fight scenes, the wholesome bonding with friends, and the romantic love between Sophie and…her…b-boyfriend. In that very moment Sally came to a realization, one that had been in the very back of her mind that she never fully realized. There was one other reason that she was drawn to this show in the first place, and that was because it was escapism for her. The main characters already reminded her a bit of herself and her friends, and the main villain did have a similar round shape to certain someone, so it was natural Sally would find escapism in it. She missed the adventure that her new royal position denied, she felt lonely at night, all alone in her room, wishing for someone to accompany her, she missed her friends she hadn’t been able to see in so long, and she missed Tails, and Sonic, and just wanted to know if they were okay. At the same time she knew this was what she had to do, and was very graceful to help bring her kingdom back to the glory it once had, but managing it for so long, and all by herself was just too much. This became sadder, looking around the trash covered room, and down at her large paws, still very tired she collapsed into slumber, with a sad little frown.
Meanwhile, close by the royal advisor was slumped over in his seat, face buried in his arms. “I’m a failure, A FAILURE!” he cried, “I was a fool, a foolish fool, truly the most foolish fool of them all!” one of the guards, who had been listening in for a while alongside some others, poked his head from behind an unlocked door. “I am a disgrace, a disgrace to this kingdom, to my family name, and especially the princess!” Soon the other guards peaked in too. “Because now, all these years later, I’ve come to my senses and realized, perhaps it twas I how to her joy, TWAS I-” as he began shouting again the first guard silently walked and tapped on his shoulder. “Excuse me!” The advisor was caught off guard and let out a short but loud yelp, thrusting himself into the air and hitting the ground with a soft thud. “GOOD GRACIOUS, MAN! Don’t sneak up on someone like that, nearly give me a heart attack.” The guard quickly got into position, “Sorry sir, It’s just that, well, you’ve been shouting and rumbling to yourself for about an hour straight.” “Oh dear, that long eh?” The guard simply nodded, placing a palm into his face he shook his head, “and did you hear all of that,” he nodded again, the advisor sighed. “I’m sorry to disturb you all, just don’t mind me, you shouldn’t waste your concern on an old fool like me.” The guard stood his ground, “No can do sir!” “What?” “We already have one important person in a miserable slump, we won’t have another.” He was confused and gave the guard a very confused and bewildered look, “Excuse me if I repeat myself but, what?” The two stared directly into each other's idea, “I may not fully know everything you’ve been rumbling about to yourself but I do know one thing, none of what you’ve been saying is really your fault, and so do they.” He pointed at the crowd of guards and even a few cooks and janitors and others. The advisor was even more confused, “But-” the guard motioned for him to stop what he was about to say,
“Look, sure you might have pushed her a little too much, and probably should have talked to her, but that doesn't mean you're the one to blame.” “But that’s exactly it, I should have talked to her, I-” This time he was cut off without warning. “Besides, you were only doing what your ancestors did, just trying to help the princess the best you could, and you succeeded in that. Just look outside, everything is just like how it was before, HE came along, it’s even better in some way. It’s just that you were just a bit too overprotective, understandable so.” The royal advisor didn’t know what to feel, but he did feel a bit better. “And even then, we also should have done something too. As royal guards of the Princess our main job is to protect her at all costs, whether it be from assassins or war, or just a little sickness on a cold winter day. Yet even so, we never once considered we should have been paying more attention to how the princess felt. After all, we were practically always by her side, we all had hundreds, maybe thousands of opportunities to talk to the princess but we never once did.” The royal advisor was feeling much better about himself, yet he couldn’t understand why they would even care about him. “Whether you still feel responsible or not isn’t going to help the princess, what does is get the princess out of her room and talk to her, and try our best to help her.” The royal advisor got up, brushing himself off with a confident face. “Y-your right, this has already gone on long enough as it is. We must get her out of there, and just listen. While we're at it I must figure out how we can have more help with all this work,” he said. His expression dropped ever so slightly, “I just hope nothing bad has happened to her in there. It’s smelling awful in there and I’m pretty sure she’s been doing nothing but eating and watching that accursed TV.” “Rest assured, no matter what, we will always stand by her majesty.”
Everyone cheered and began to head to the princesses room when suddenly, CRASH! One of the windows that had been in the room was shattered to bits, and something came crashing to the floor. Everyone was surprised and stumbled backwards. “What in the blazes!” Someone shouted. Everyone began talking over one another as they all looked at what had just busted into the room. I appeared to be a flying device of some kind, painted brightly yellow with some kind of lens on the front. A long arrow was sticking out of the machine, most likely from one of the archers. The crash caused the breaks, large and tiny pieces littered the ground, and the lens had cracked. The royal advisor took a closer look, getting up close and personal, and he noticed something it was holding, “A letter?” He bent down and picked up the letter, it was a blank white letter with nothing on it, “Who would ever deliver something in such a peculiar way.” All eyes were on him as he opened the letter and began to read it. He mumbled to himself as he read, slowly his eyes widened and gave an audible gasp when he read who had sent it. He stood in silence with a shocked expression on his face, with a hint of joy. “What is it?” “What does it say?” “Who is it from?” His joy quickly became more apparent, “I think this might be just what we have been looking for.”
Back in Sally’s room, Sally had been flipping through channels like the speed of sound. Grabbing a fist full of chilli dogs and shoving them into her mouth, a few of the dogs sticking out of her lips before being devoured into her gut, her mind and eyes focused on nothing other than the TV. “Your majesty I-” “Maybe tomorrow.” Sally had already said that so many times it had become an instinct. “Eh, no your majesty I-It’s a letter.” Odd, usually it was just the same question as always, but today it was different. “It’s very important you read it, and please your majesty, turn that thing off.” The letter was slid under a very thin gap under the door. Sally’s curiosity had peaked, and was just enough to finally get her to stand up from the couch, exposing the large imprint that had been left behind. Sally waded through the mountain of trash, each step causing her whole body to jiggle, stumbling a bit from tiredness. Reading through the letter the words blurred together and didn't fully reistare with the princess. Reaching the end and was about to just crumble it up and return to her couch when the words began to registar, rereading the note she felt as if she was about to die, then and there.
“Hey Sal, long time no see. Sorry about never writing or visiting, I’ve just been busy with some stuff, I won’t go into details since we’d be here all day so just know that it definitely was a whole lot of stuff. Plus you know me, always getting into trouble. Anyway I just wanted to write this letter to let you know that I’ve finally found the time to visit. It will probably be a while, at least a week but hopefully we will arrive soon. Anyway, I hope you and everyone else has been doing well, and we truly can’t wait to see each other again. Maybe have some fun like the good ol’ times, if you aren't busy with all that running a kingdom stuff. From your friends, Sonic and Tails.” Sally’s brain felt like it stopped after reading, while simultaneously racing so fast it could catch fire. All her emotions, positive and negative, smashed together into some intangible emotion that couldn’t truly be explained, but one thing was clear, the joy was overshadowed by a cold, murky, sense of fear, growing by the second. The only thing to escape her lips was a scream, perfectly muffled by her pudgy hands over her mouth.
Sally was curled up in a massive ball of fluff and chub, vigorously stress eating and on the verge of tears from panic. “OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD OH MY GOD! HE’S COMING, HE’S COMING! WHY! WHEN! WHERE! WHO! WHAT! WHY NOW OF ALL TIMES! OH DEAR LORD THIS CAN’T BE HAPPENING! JUST LOOK AT THIS, IT’S AN UTTER MESS! THAT FACT THIS ROOM HASN’T HAD AN INFESTATION IS ASTOUNDING! AND LOOK AT ME, I LOOK LIKE A FAT, DIRTY, GLUTTONOUS PIG!” Sally was hyperventilating, frightened and scared, confused and uncertain, and could barely focus on a single though. In a brief moment Sally managed to focus long enough to give herself a hard slap on the cheek, in a vein attempting to calm herself, which it did, though it stung real badly and left a huge red handprint on her chubby cheek. Her ventilation slowed as her breaths became larger, but more calm, or as calm as she would ever be. “Okay, okay, okay. Everything’s going to be fine.” she repeated that to herself multiple times, though not very helpful. “Y-you can fix this, you have at least a week, so I can probably fix all of this before he arrives.” She nervously laughed, “And you can do this by…by…b-by…eh…um…ugh.” Sally’s mind was still running wild and being very uncooperative, scanning the room Sally tried to think of something. Her eyes landed on a door that led to her personal bathroom, “YES OF COURSE! A shower, That's the perfect place to start. M-m-maybe it’ll help clear my mind a bit too.” Sally weakly smiled to herself, not realizing she somehow grabbed some food that was left on the floor. She quickly slapped it out of her hand before it could reach her lips.
Sally, surprisingly, managed to squeeze her wide from through the door and plopped into the tub. The tub was very wide, just wide enough in fact to hold the large princess, but barely. Sally twisted the shower knob, getting the temperature just right, closed the curtains and began to give herself a very thorough wash. Sally was utterly disgusted with herself, nearly every inch of herself was covered in something, whether it be the remnants of her abhorrent snacking habit she had gained, or just general grim that accumulated from having not taken a shower in weeks. Nice, refreshing water shot out of the shower head, she could already feel the geese and crumbs coming off. The water came pouring and pouring out, slight steam began to ingulf the room. Squeezing on a bottle of body wash a pink glob of a gel-like substance squirted out, landing in the palm of the chipmunks hand. Rubbing her hands together she spreaded the stuff all over, especially around her giant belly, needing a few more squirts of body wash to get under her fat folds. Sally glanced at all the visible stains and watched with delight as they washed off, spiraling down the drain. “Honestly I can’t believe I could even allow this to happen to myself, HECK, I don’t even know where some of these came from.” Sally was vigorously using a bath sponge and her slightly gnarled fingernails to dig out some dried mustard and pizza sauce that must’ve been there for days. “I mean, why did I even think it would be a good idea to order all those unhealthy (though somewhat tasty) junk, especially those meaty, cheesy, messy, delicious, wonderful, heavenly chi-” Sally quickly slapped herself once more, less painfully this time, praying that she wasn’t just drooling and what it was actually just water.
After giving her body a good rinsing she turned her attention to the messy mass of red knotted hair, attached to her head. Thankfully her hair situation wasn’t as horrid as, well, everything else but not by much. Sally reached and grabbed a bottle of acorn scented shampoo, her favorite, and began scratching it into her scalp. Sally felt her hair, it was extremely oily and silk, with possibly hundreds of knots. Her hair was long enough to go past her back and almost below her waist, and was thick enough for Sally to fit an entire paw into it. Randomly Sally would dig out some long forgotten snack that managed to get tangled deep within her hair, before throwing them at the bathroom wall in disguise once more, “How deep is this? Though the more I think about that I actually think this could be quite useful, just with something more sensible.”
Sally spent hours and hours in the shower, spending practically the whole day in there, trying to get everything last species off. By the time she got out her hands became completely pruned. Wrapping a towel around her waist and hair Sally stepped out of the bathtub, water dripping behind her. The bathroom mirror was hidden from smoke, but Sally didn’t bother cleaning it, she was too afraid to look at herself. She let the towels soak up the remaining water and brushed her hair, getting it as tame as she could. It was night and Sally was tired, rolling into bed she mind immediately went to sleep, Sally knew that first thing in the morning this room needed a good ol cleaning.
Meanwhile, far far away, on a distant planet, there was a place called Green Hill, with two familiar figures. One was a male yellow fox, tinkering with a large rocket, his two tails spinning which allowed him to hover in the air as he worked. The other a male blue hedgehog, impatient tapping his foot at sonic speed while chowing down and a chilli dog. “Hey Tails!” he shouted, “You almost done with that rocket?” “Just give me a second!” Tightening the last bolt he stuck his head around the rocket, face covered in oil. “Finished!” The hedgehog smiled, swallowing the last bit of chilli dog left in his mouth. “All right, that’s what I’m talking about. Man, I can’t believe we’ve been gone all these years, how long has it been again? 15, 20 years or something?” “Something like that.” “Jeez, kinda feel bad, hope everyone’s been doing okay, especially Sal.” The fox cleaned his face off with a rag, “I’m sure they are, anyway are you common or-” he turned around and saw his friend already sitting in the passenger seat, “Nevermind.”
Meanwhile back on Mobius, Sally had just woken up, tumbling herself out of bed in order to make herself get up. Sally was cleaning up the trash from her room, and placing them inside that large box where all this stuff came from, mashing it all down to make room for more. Sally went around and around and around and around, checking every nook and cranny of her room, bending down only to bend back up quickly after. Sally soon found herself getting tired, her new body unable to take all this movement, but as her body ached she pressed onward. Sally huffed and puffed more intensely as time went on, wheezing nearly every time she walked. Sally’s tree stump legs couldn’t carry her weight anymore, collapsing into bed as its frame creaked. Still wheezing, Sally looked around the room, she was barely half way done. Grabbing a pillow she slammed it into her face, groaning with a mix of annoyance, rage and pain. It took another hour before it was all cleaned up, Sally felt like she was about to pass out from exhaustion, but even now she still wasn’t done. Sally spent more hours scrubbing and dusting every stain she could find, which only tired her more. Once Sally stood up, the room was clean enough to sparkle. Sally gave a sigh of relief and a pat on the shoulder, before falling to the floor like a sack of cement shaped potatoes, unconscious.
In another room everyone in the castle gathered into one room, “Anything to report.” the royal advisor asked, “I’m happy to say that yesterday I never once heard any TV.” The advisor seemed pleased, “Instead all I heard was the faint rushing of a shower, for 8 HOURS STRAIGHT!” Now the royal advisor seemed less pleased. “And today all I heard was the pitter patter of footsteps. If I had to guess, I think she was cleaning something up.” Another guard added. “Well, it’s a start.” Everyone began to talk amongst themselves, “How long must we wait!” “How can we even be sure it was actually Sonic who wrote that letter.” “I say we should just ram the door down!” The royal advisor paid no mind however, as was quite confident this was no joke, and hopefully soon, Sonic will finally arrive.
The following days Sally did nothing but worry and worry, pacing herself from each side of the room thinking about how to lose her weight, but could never decide on anything concrete. For the time being though Sally decided to eat as little as possible, with the few scraps of food she had left. She had also ordered new clothes to replace the ones that couldn’t fit anymore, which was very embarrassing. Ironically, her thinking of how to lose her weight quickly inadvertently made her lose weight, walking back and forth. It wasn’t much but her double chin was becoming increasingly less pronounced, and she was able to walk longer before getting tired, but she was still fat. Days went by, her stress pilling on, before she thought it couldn't get any worse, a guard knocked on her door, Sonic and Tails had arrived. Sally have an ear piercing scream, this time unmuffled.
A bit earlier, Sonic and Tails arrived, landing a little outside of the kingdom. The two stepped out and touched the ground, the once roboticized land had been revived, full of plant life and civilization. “WOW, it’s beautiful.” Tails said, starry eyed. Sonic smiled, “Good job Sal, I wish I could have been here.” “Alright, Sally is most likely in the castle right now, so we should be able to get there in-” “Actually I was thinking I’d save visiting Sally for last.” Tails was puzzled, “But why?” “Well, think of it as a grand finale to our return, so come on, we can decide who to visit first on the way there.”
In a rural area of the kingdom a little cottage stood, inside a sleeping yellow rabbit. She was rudely awakened by someone knocking at the door, “Who in tarnation could that be?” It was the early morning, the sun having just begun the rise. Still in her nightgown, the rabbit slipped into a pair of fluffy slippers and shimmied herself to the front door. Rubbing her eyes she opened the door, “Just what do ya think you're doing, waking somebody up this earl-” Her barely opened eyes shot wide open, she couldn’t believe who she saw. She rubbed her eyes again, thinking her eyes were playing tricks, but they weren't. It was clear as the morning sky who they were, Sonic and Tails. “Hey Bunnie, long time no see.” Bunnie wasn’t able to respond, their sudden appearance after all this time caught her completely off guard. She couldn’t utter a single word, instead, she wrapped her arms around the two and hugged as hard as she could. “Oh it’s you,I can’t believe it, but it’s really you!”
Bunnie invited the two into her home, hurrying them to their seats. The three had lots of catching up to do. Sonic and Tails talked about all their adventures, and all the friends they had made. Bunnie also talked about her own adventures, though not as grand, along with how the kingdom has changed. They talked for a long while, until Sonic brought up Sally, asking how she had been. “Sally girl? Well, to be truthful I haven’t the slightest clue. Haven’t had an actual conversion in years.” “Really?” Tails asked, “Well, the kingdom has had a busy few years, and Sally has basically been handling all of it. Personally, I think there should be others to handle some of that.” “hu, that’s about what everyone else has been saying, it’s a bit concerning.” Not too long later the three went their separate ways, giving one more hug before leaving to check up on Sally, and make sure she was okay.
The two rushed past the guards, outside and inside, and rushed their way to Sally’s door. Inside Sally began to panic once more, she could barely breath or think straight. There was a knock on her door, and a familiar voice, “Hey Sal, It’s me Sonic. You mind opening up, I’ve been dying to talk to you all day.” Sally fell silent, not daring to make a sound. She hoped he would eventually go away, while simultaneously hoping he would stay forever. Sonic waited patiently for a while, which wasn’t really long. Quickly tapping his toes and knocking again, “Just a head up, your royal advisor or whatever already told me the details, though they were a bit vague, so I know you're in there.” Sally still stayed quiet. Sonic waited some more, “Alrighty then, I didn’t want to do this, but you’ve forced my hand. I’m going to use one of my secret moves.” Telling his friend to stay and wait where he was, Sonic did his “secret move,” simply opening the door. “Huh, I didn’t actually expect that to work.” Sally gasped in utter surprise, she seriously left her door unlocked the whole time! Sally quickly ducked behind the bed, pulling the sheet off with her. Sonic gave a confused look to the hidden shaking mass. “I’m just going to go out on a limb and say you probably aren't very good at hide and seek are you.” There was no denying it, it really was Sonic, snarkiness and all. Sally still remained silent, Sonic sighed. “Look sal’s, I don’t know what’s been going on all these years, or why you're currently hiding under a blanket, but whatever it is I just want you to know that, you have nothing to worry about. I just want to make sure you're okay.” The room was still silent, but then, Sally spoke, “I-I-I-I, I just can’t, I’m too embarrassed and a-ashamed.” “About what?” “...” “Come one Sal, you can trust me.” Sonic’s words of comfort were very touching to Sally, this gave her enough confidence to stand up. Still hidden under the blanket, Sally managed to stand up, her round body being shaped by the blanket, poking her muzzle out slightly.
The two stood there looking at each other, “P-please don’t be alarmed.” Sally quiverly said. “Alarmed? Ha, why would I be.” Sonic’s response was a complete shock to her, “E-excuse me?” “Well I just don’t see why I would be alarmed.” Sally was taken by complete bewilderment. “What do you mean by that?! Just look at me!” Sonic looked up and down Sally’s body, “So?” Sally’s jay dropped, utterly flabbergasted. “So, SO! Just look at me!” Sally grabbing her belly. “So you gained a few pounds, I don’t see the need to hide yourself.” “A ‘few’ pounds, are you kidding? Just look at me, I am a fat disgusting slob.” Sonic just smiled, “Well I don’t think so.” “YOU-...y-you don’t?” “You're my friend Sally, one of my bestest in fact. Sure I wasn’t really expecting this, but I could never be disgusted about you.” Sally blushed, “Y-you mean it?” Sonic nodded. Sally was overcome with a feeling of comfort, her stress and anxiety melting away. Sally ripped the blanket off her and gave Sonic a bone crushing hug, “Oh Sonic.” “Glad you're feeling better Sal, but could you maybe let go before you crush my bones.
The two spend all day talking, Tails also joining in. The two talked and talked and talked all day long. Over the coming weeks things around the kingdom had a quick change. The whole system had been reworked to have specific mobiuns to help with things like trade and laws, keeping the main important duties to Sally, giving her so much more free time to get out. Sally was a bit nervous going out in public at first, but was overjoyed to see that everyone welcomed her back with open arms, not minding her extra weight. Sally, Sonic, Tails and the rest of their friends had a lot of much needed bonding time, and everyone was happy. Eventually Sonic and Tails had to go back home, but with a little goodbye gift, a teleportation system, to make it easier to visit. Sonic and Sally kissed goodbye, promising to see each other again, and maybe to one day have another adventure together, after Sally gets back into shape of course.
