In late August 2024, someone reached out to me to let me know that it appeared astrologer Alyssa Sharpe had copied some of my work. It turned out that Alyssa stole from 9 different interpretations pages and published them on her website as her own, and also published one of my blog articles from 2011 (that was published on October 8th 2024). It was word-for-word copied in entirety.

So, when I found this out, I was absolutely shocked and heartbroken. I don't know Alyssa personally, and only had a few interactions with her a long time ago. But I only became aware of her because she claimed she was a fan of my work and was recommending my site to people. Our interactions were perfectly lovely, and I had no reason to think she would do something like this years later.

I reached out to Alyssa after finding out; it appears she doesn't allow messages via social media so I couldn't get any of those to go through, and emailed four times. There was no response from her at any point. I also reached out to some people in this niche to see if anyone knew how to contact her, but none did. 

I would've liked an explanation and apology and for all of it to be taken down, but I would've settled for it just being taken down. I was hoping that she would at least do that. In the PDF, I included screenshots of the messages I sent her and you can clearly see I gave her an out (pages 127-129).

I hoped we could settle things quietly ourselves without it escalating, but she refused to cooperate. So, I reported her to Google to have the stolen content removed from search results, and I reported her to her web host, who can bypass her and take the content down.

Google quickly removed the content from search after just a couple of days; her web host took longer, and I was notified on Nov 26 2024 by Alyssa's web host that they were taking down her website, and it was that evening; they said they'd reinstate it if she agreed to take down the infringing content, which she did, so it went back up the next day. She didn't take the content down right away though, so I was worried she lied, but almost a week later, she finally did take it down.

I decided to go on a break after this since the whole ordeal had been taking a toll, and I almost had a breakdown in December. I stopped posting to the blog or on social media at this point.

Eventually, I decided I had to walk away from the site. I hadn’t shared that what was done had done damage to the business thanks to her large social media following, which made the algorithms favor her over me.

I had found I was shadowbanned on Facebook in late 2023, which timed out with when the first content was stolen, and came to find I was shadowbanned on almost all social media except Youtube (no clue why not Youtube) and Twitter/X (that one makes sense since I stopped posting on it not long after the tech idiot bought it).

I was also dinged by Google, who apparently now also considers your social media following to combat AI and not the age of the content - talk about stupid - though this seemed to eventually lift; however they never indexed the 2025 yearly horoscopes, which led to a massive slide downward.

Then in a case of horribly bad timing, my email newsletter service provider dissolved back in August 2024, and I was unable to move my email list to any of the other major providers because my email list is so old, I couldn't provide everything they wanted (to prove it's not a bought list).

And then in March 2025, I was notified by my order management system provider, SendOwl, they were no longer offering my plan, and that account was cancelled.

So pretty much everything blew up in my face, and I realized I had to let it go. I had too much bad energy associated with the site, and needed to start over.

I created a new site in April 2025 and began the process of deleting the old site and everything with it. Then Pinterest threw me for a loop by removing the shadowban that had been in place for almost four years - this was the only one that had nothing to do with the stolen content (an algorithm update that accidentally impacted tens of thousands of accounts in 2021).

Upon seeing that, I decided to see if I could sell the site since that would keep it up but I could still walk away. Someone had suggested that to me when I announced I was going to shut it down, but I ignored that, figuring the site was worthless, but the Pinterest account being restored changed that.

I reached out to a few website brokers, and signed with one. I had the website for sale for almost 2 months (July and August); there was one interested buyer and it looked like they were going to buy it, and I accepted their offer, but they pulled out at the last minute. So, I requested the website be taken down with the broker in late August 2025 so I could proceed with shutting it all down.

I already took down the new site I had begun in April in August; I’ve just about had enough with astrology at this point, and it’s become crystal clear I shouldn’t be doing this work anymore. So, even though the new site was going in the right direction and traffic was increasing, I just couldn’t do it anymore.

It took almost a week for the site to be de-listed with the broker, and I gave the 30 days notice to my ad network after that (they require at least 30 days notice). I got the okay from them fairly quickly after I explained the whole situation, ha!

I am clear to take the site down after October 8 2025. I am planning on doing it on October 12 (just to give it a few days and make sure there’s nothing more to do for the ad network). I did put most of the blog articles (minus the ones that were in the compendium earlier this year) into one file you can download off Dropbox HERE.

Meanwhile Alyssa has turned back up on Instagram posting all kinds of weird stories (where even her followers noted something was wrong). I’ve come back to checking on her each day to see if she does anything else.

I have posted horoscopes on Notion (when there was the buyer for the site, I agreed to write weekly and monthly horoscopes for the rest of the year; I had already started when they backed out, so I have done through November, and I’ll make those available). All of that is linked in the callout at the top of this page, but I’ll also include them again below:

I reported her to her web host (on October 3 2025). They took a month last time.

I don’t want to wait to take down the site, but I have to keep it up for the investigators (with the web host, to be able to see for themselves). SO I am going to make the whole website password protected, this way I can give them access but keep everyone else out (including her; and if the web host doesn’t cooperate and I have to file a lawsuit this time, it’ll still be salvageable). It’ll be like taking it down without actually taking it down.
