Synology reverses course on requiring branded drives: NOT ENOUGH!

Especially when there's a drive shortage and you can't even buy the dang drives...

TrueNAS if you want ZFS and easymode or just install samba (or whatever) on debian and raid with btrfs or mdadm. <3

Synology HDDs are just Toshibas with a sticker (and rebranded firmware to say Synology) on it they just cost 3/4x of Toshiba here and are usually unavailable, as Toshiba enjoyer Synology can fuck off with that shit. The only thing that decides the value of a storage system is the $/TB, idk what kind of stupid people thought this was a bright idea to kill their brand like this.
