From the article; "The trans and two-spirit community....."

For me, "trans" is a network of roads and highways across this once-great country.

And "two-spirit" is, ideally, well-aged Single-Malt Scotch and XO Cognac!

(BTW: a guy's life is good when his Cognac is older than his girlfriend!)

All these activists, including Palestinian supporters and environmentalists, are searching for meaning. May I suggest doing something positive and constructive, like building a business or a community support facility instead of? Oh right, that takes effort, persistence, and real commitment.

Edward Willmer says "....politicians....hang their hats on a topic that wins them votes...."

The REAL problem is the six-years-needed Federal parliamentary pension system.

Without winning (at least one) re-election, there's no pension at all - ever.

Try to secure a salary over $200,000 after four years "out of any loop" and the taint of "loser" out there in the real, Darwinian, business world; especially if being a DEI won you your seat.

That's why the votes, and the victories, are the proverbial Holy Grail of MPs lives.

Saying that they "really oughta wanna" not be that way is like saying that the cobra really oughta wanna make nice with the mongoose.

Progressive politicians (liberal/ndp) prefer to hang their hat on a topic that wins them votes while trying to show conservatives as out of step socially. Make a list, Trump, covid, natives, trans, Quebec, debt/deficits, non public healthcare options, more non public school options etc used to win elections and stop these topics from having open adult discussions. Eastern Canada & BC/Manitoba are broken and lives in the dark.

Canada is an outlier because the angst in Canada is not about gender, it is about some of us still fighting against the federal government leading us into poverty so that they can accomplish their ideological goals.

The last 11 years of federal politics has been about dividing and impoverishing Canadians. It has been about gaslighting us about everything. It has been about diverting us by making trans/gay rights, racism, genocide, colonialism (and any other ism they can dream up) the news, not government corruption. It is about DEI, white privilege, Critical Race Theory and any other theory that can subvert western culture. It is about maxist unions not fighting for their members, but fighting against common sense and politicians/political parties that want the actually see Canada and Canadians prosper and not go down the communist hole.
