In the world today, many people want to give shape to their ideas and thoughts, and to improve society. And what is used for this purpose is “the power of intellectual property”. When you hear the word “IP” or “Intellectual Property”, you may think that it has nothing to do with you. However, it has the power to change the world. For example, there are people who connect old cultures and traditions to the future, people who are increasing the number of friends who are reducing their trash to zero, and people who are trying to support children together with the whole community. So many people are changing the world through the power of intellectual property. We hope that you will learn about IP, since the more you know, the more interesting it becomes. It can support your ideas and the challenges you are facing— and it may become the power to make our world a better place.

AI Suitcase, an autonomous guidance robot for the visually impaired [10/7]
AI Suitcase" is an autonomous navigation robot under development to assist the visually impaired in their mobility. It has a computer, sensors, and motors built inside, and can safely guide users to their destinations while avoiding people and obstacles. The Consortium for the Development of Next-generation Mobility Assistive Technology has conducted demonstration tests at large shopping malls, airports, and the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan) in Odaiba, Tokyo. At this Expo, a larger-scale demonstration experiment will be conducted for the entire duration of the Expo. Anyone, not just the visually impaired, can choose from several routes around the venue to experience a tour using AI suitcases.

The Expo sauna, "TAIYO NO TSUBOMI," is located at the western edge of the venue, overlooking Osaka Bay. This open, scenic waterfront sauna offers an immersive experience that embodies the theme of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai: "Designing Future Society for Our Lives. Petal-shaped air membrane cushions come together to form a single bud, creating a beautifully dynamic structure that stretches toward the sun, brimming with vitality. The energy of the sun, immersed in the air of the sea, plants, and wind, pours down onto the "TAIYO NO TSUBOMI (Sun Bud)." The delicate yet powerful membrane creates an environment filled with natural energy, harmonizing our minds and bodies and guiding us back to the core of our humanity. The space, enveloped by an ETFE film* membrane that allows natural light to filter through, glows gracefully with LED lighting, harmonizing with the ever-changing nature of Osaka Bay across the seasons and time. The sauna offers a completely new 'co-creation' space, embodying a future society that values “warmth and harmony.” *ETFE film: A high-performance fluoropolymer material that has been processed into a film. JAPAN IKEBANA ART SPECIAL EXHIBITION
Works will be exhibited by the headquarters officers of the Japan Ikebana Art Association, association officers and members active mainly in the Kansai region. Ikebana is the traditional style of Japanese flower arrangement that is now enjoyed all over the world and has come to be known as one of the quintessential Japanese cultural art forms. Here is a brief introduction on how it originated and became the beautiful art that it currently is. Our Japanese ancestors had a unique way of living with awe and respect for the natural world and an ideal of living in harmony with plants and trees that nature creates. Please pick up some of the flowers in your hands and try to arrange them. For the next 500 years, and beyond, their beauty and the simple joy of their existence.

The Urban Forest Paper: A Project for Locally-sourced, Circular Recycled Paper
"Even in urban areas, there are forests." The "Urban Forest Paper" project considers surplus paper, which is generated in urban areas and treated as waste, as a forest resource and utilizes it as a renewable resource. In 2017, we introduced a circular delivery and collection system, where resources are collected on the return trip after delivering paper products to consumers in the Hanshin area. As a result, we collected 500 tons of resources in 2022 and 700 tons in 2023. This system has brought various benefits: promoting environmental education, revitalizing the local community, contributing to 5S activities at production sites, and supporting the circular economy in the region. From 2020 to 2021, we explored paper manufacturing possibilities. In 2022, we utilized collected resources to produce paper and created "paper molds," which are used as covers for our sample books. In 2023, we began producing the circular recycled paper "Urban Forest Paper" in collaboration with local manufacturers in the Hanshin region. This locally-sourced recycled paper aims to further promote the circular economy. Through this initiative, we effectively utilize local resources and reduce environmental impact, as well as contribute to local governments' waste disposal cost reduction. We hope this project expands nationwide, reducing wasteful resource discharge and protecting forest resources. We work with local partners to build sustainable communities.

With the Osaka-Kansai Expo being held in the same year, we feel a deep connection to the city, and to express our gratitude to Osaka for nurturing us, we are holding the "Osaka Box Sushi Experience Class." Box sushi, a representative Osaka sushi, was popular among Senba merchants during the Meiji era, and was popular as an intermission bento box at plays and as a gift. Even today, it is widely loved by the people of Osaka Prefecture as a treat for celebrations and special occasions. Demo flights of the Advanced Air Mobility aircraft will be conducted! eVTOL: Joby S4 Operator: ANA Holdings and Joby Aviation Estimated time of departure: Approx. 11:00 If you’d like to see the aircraft take off and land up close, please visit the Mobility Experience on the west side of the Expo site. While the aircraft is cruising, you’ll be able to see it in flight from various locations around the Expo site, including from the top of the Grand Ring, in front of the west gate, and the west group rest area. Be sure to take note of how quiet the Joby S4 is in flight. Please note – Flight schedules are approximate and subject to cancellation or change due to weather, aircraft maintenance, etc. – Crowding is expected during the demonstration flights. What is a Céilí?　 A Céilí is a gathering for Irish traditional music, dance and storytelling. It derives from the Irish word ‘le chéile’ meaning ‘together’. A typical céilí can involve two hand dances, dances in circle or line formations,or in a four partner square as in set dancing. What is Set Dancing? Set dancing is a form of social dancing which has been danced in Ireland for about 150 years. Set dances are derived from French Quadrilles and involve four couples dancing in a square. Each ‘set’ has usually between three and six ‘figures’ within it and are often danced to a live céilí band. What is Sean Nós Dancing? Sean Nós means ‘old style.’ It is a percussive, improvisational form of Irish dance, also simply called ‘battering’ which has its origins in Connemara in the West of Ireland. It is more ‘relaxed’ than Irish dance as is in seen on Riverdance. It is danced with feet close to the ground generally and the dancers shoes are used as an instrument to respond to the tune being played. It is suitable for a wide variety of ages. What is Two-hand dancing? A dance performed in pairs. Participants form circles or lines and dance while performing simple steps. This dance is enjoyed by people of all ages, from adults to children. Louise O’Connor Louise O Connor is a sean nós dancer, fiddle player and céilí/set dancing instructor from Tubber, County Clare. She loves sharing the steps and tunes she grew up with and currently manages Lasta Dance, a social céilí dance project based in Dublin and Clare. She regularly curates and hosts events at home and abroad such as the Irish College Céilí reenactment night ‘Are ya Dancin?’ and Community Crossroads events. Rokko Ceili Band Named after the iconic Mt. Rokko that stretches east to west along the Hanshin region, the Mt. Rokko Céilí Band was formed by a group of Irish music session friends in Kansai following the 2024 St. Patrick’s Day celebration in Kobe. The common people’s enjoyment of street performance.
”Nankin Tamasudare" was frequently performed in areas where large crowds gathered ,such as temple towns and castle towns, during the Edo period.It was colled "Nankin Muso no Tamasudare" because it was performing art not even found in Nanjin, China,the advanced city at the time.However,as time passed, the "Muso no" part was omitted,and it became known simply as "Nankin Tanasudare". The Nankin Tamasudare tradition group, "Nankin Tamasudare Sumiyoshi Okirakuya"performs Tamasudare in various locations with the hope of passing down this Japanese traditional art to the next generation. We are grateful for the opportunity to show the bright and joyful Nankin Tamasudare here at the Expo venue.

The Urban Forest Paper: A Project for Locally-sourced, Circular Recycled Paper
"Even in urban areas, there are forests." The "Urban Forest Paper" project considers surplus paper, which is generated in urban areas and treated as waste, as a forest resource and utilizes it as a renewable resource. In 2017, we introduced a circular delivery and collection system, where resources are collected on the return trip after delivering paper products to consumers in the Hanshin area. As a result, we collected 500 tons of resources in 2022 and 700 tons in 2023. This system has brought various benefits: promoting environmental education, revitalizing the local community, contributing to 5S activities at production sites, and supporting the circular economy in the region. From 2020 to 2021, we explored paper manufacturing possibilities. In 2022, we utilized collected resources to produce paper and created "paper molds," which are used as covers for our sample books. In 2023, we began producing the circular recycled paper "Urban Forest Paper" in collaboration with local manufacturers in the Hanshin region. This locally-sourced recycled paper aims to further promote the circular economy. Through this initiative, we effectively utilize local resources and reduce environmental impact, as well as contribute to local governments' waste disposal cost reduction. We hope this project expands nationwide, reducing wasteful resource discharge and protecting forest resources. We work with local partners to build sustainable communities.
