The US places responsibility for new port fees on operators' shoulders

Among other things, a new document states that the responsibility for determining whether a ship is subject to fees lies with the operator – not the US customs authorities.

The Trump administration has published a new version of the long-awaited US port fees on Chinese ships, which are set to enter into force on 14 October.
