ok, I am ready to share! nervous, but ready. this is the jam game we made for . I can't tell you *everything* it's about, but it's a Twine game where the primary mechanic is gossip. please play, vote for us in the jam if you like it, leave comments sharing your thoughts. :)
now that i've slept all day after submitting, i can say: we made a cute narrative puzzle game for GMTK jam! in collaboration with @innuendostudios.bsky.social and three other friends, i give you: jseakle.itch.io/the-artisan
we need to retire the word "underrated"

the mixtape and the Spotify playlist are distinct artforms that should coexist; it is a travesty that one replaced the other. it is feasible to *make* a mixtape but all the best ways to *listen to one* are gone, so you can't expect a person to do so.
i don't want to hear your most boomer complaint. what's your most millennial complaint?

changed a lot. I post like I did on Twitter way earlier in my career. have yet to be dogpiled here, don't get so much engagement that it's not worth posting nonsense. it wasn't worth it to post threads anymore, or make certain kinds of jokes. I'm still A Brand here, but less so. more of a person.
Have a question for those that were on Twitter heavy and are now primarily here: Would you say you've pretty much stayed the same in terms of how/what you post (content, topics, tone) across both apps? Did your approach to posting/sharing change significantly?
making a thread when you have 50k followers means hundreds of notifications. beyond the level a human being can reasonably keep up with, even if it's mostly positive engagement. have 1/5 the following here, and y'all aren't as terminally online, so I can actually talk to folks a bit, when I want.

The idea that “the civil rights act was a mistake” is a mainstream conservative position we can only tolerate but “defund the police” is a great cancer that must be excised from America for Democrats to win is the actual reason Democrats lose. Sorry.
look all ya "should've voted kamala" scoldy type folks: I'm not even saying you're wrong per se just the democrats they could've like they could've like they could've like MAYBE tried running someone people wanted to vote for or supported popular policies that would've also been a solution

what's savvy about R's making such a stink about Stephen King saying "Charlie Kirk said gays should be stoned to death" is now all your google search results are King apologizing instead of the time Kirk definitely did say that
mainstream consensus is already closing around "King was wrong and defamatory" when it is provably true
🧵
last night as i was trying to wind down for bed i had a unified theory of what the fuck just happened, and i wrote it down, and filed it under "well, i can't talk about this on main without sounding insane until and unless the perp gets caught and is provably a groyper" anyways, great news! (1/X)
in my work studying the Far Right I've focused more on broad trends than individual personalities, but I can tell you NOBODY thought Kirk was "just another pundit" til this week you can feel however you feel about what happened to him without pretending he wasn't what he was
There’s a lot of garden variety white supremacists out there, not every one of them funnels money to hate groups and pays Kyle rittenhouse a speaker’s fee or gets caught coordinating with the GOP to give them college students’ personal info or starts “professor watchlists” or

Anyone saying Kirk "practiced politics the right way" thinks being pro shooting, pro stoning gay people, pro trans genocide, pro Palestinian genocide, anti abortion rights, pro public execution and keeping a list of marginalized professors for his fans to harass was "the right way"....
"let's keep them on the big platforms so we can monitor their behavior" how's that working out? good?
probably not good that all these people are publicly self radicalizing themselves even further which is being led by the richest guy in the world
what we're seeing now is, if you don't kick them off of the big platform, the big platform becomes the same as the smaller one. the most powerful actors get institutional power, everyone who isn't cool with Nazis leaves. Twitter becomes a Gab with 100 million users instead of 100 thousand.
serving the same concentration and radicalization function OP was so worried about, but out in the open. "where we can see them" doesn't help us because seeing it isn't fighting.

Modern fascism is, among many other things, a sort of "anti-internationalist Internationale" -- a global cross-cultural movement for the suppression of those very same global connections.
One of the weirder things about fascists in the internet age is how invested they are in other country’s immigration rates, and not as a parable for what to avoid in their own country

from a shelved script about the ending of Breaking Bad or maybe a thing contrasting the endings of Breaking Bad, El Camino, and Better Call Saul if I ever finish it at all
Like, it’s been widely observed of stories about “bad men” that it’s mostly impossible to break an audience’s sympathy with one of these protagonists no matter how horrible they act, no matter how many people they hurt, so long as he is good at what he does, by some definition a “badass,” and, you know… white. Some of them seem to expend significant effort to make you hate the main character and much of the audience just can’t do it. Admiring these guys is supposed to be missing the point, I know cuz there’s memes about it, but people do! And I think, of all of them, you could make the best case that Breaking Bad is aware of this trend, and commenting on it. It knows getting you to hate Walt is impossible, but it can get you to hate yourself. When Jesse says “Mr. White is the devil,” you know he’s right… but you still like Walt.
