>>104769>how Ayumu is written screams "CSA victim" as she shows many symptoms of that>Tomo btw might've been abused as wellPicrel immediately brings Ayumu to mind. Tomo too in some ways. But mostly Ayumu.
When Azuma thought up the characters he definitely seems to have had the basic idea for Ayumu she came from a bad family and/or was abused by someone (such as that neighbor). Not an intricate backstory or anything like that at all but rather just the very basic idea that "this is that one girl in school who was abused" and he modeled her after that "type" of school girl, that one may find in any school (any highschool has at least one girl who've been abused but usually several), like his idea for Chiyo was "this is that one super smart kid" and for Sakaki "this is that one lonewolf-loner type girl" and for Kaorin "this is that one girl in school who's gay" and for Yomi "this is that one eating-disordered girl" and for Kagura "this is that one physical exercise obsessed student". That he did so btw, used "types" like that as templates to develop the characters after, while it may seem lazy it's one of the key things that contributed to Azumanga in a peculiar way feeling realistic; how amidst all the unrealistic things there's this sensation of Azumanga having an element realness, like it mimics real life, and it's in large part due to how those real-life "types" are present.
As an author in your writing of a character modeled after that "type" of student, you would take into account the symptoms of the abuse. Evidently Azuma did that - including even taking into account how raped women usually become promiscuous later, which we see the early beginnings of in Ayumu through her admiring Nyamo and also some things she says (like the first pic here
>>104804). All the warning signs are there. Within her all the ingredients are present, sadly, for her becoming a loose sex addict. She's at extremely high risk of falling down that path, falling into such addiction, far far far more at risk than any of her friends are.
By the way Ayumu may've already had a boyfriend or at least "been with" some guy. She more likely so than the others. Relevant is how she asks Tomo and Yomi the question " みんなそれを見せる彼氏はいてないん?" ("Minna sore o miseru kareshi wa itenai'n?") which means "Doesn't everyone have a boyfriend to show that to?" or "Don't you all have boyfriends to show that to?" (however unfortunately the subs say "D'you guys have any boyfriends to show that off to?" which lacks the important "doesn't" or "don't" nature of her sentence!), so she assumes they have boyfriends or that there's a high probability they do. And logically that assumption of hers she may've arrived at through thinking "Even I have/had a boyfriend so these two girls should as well." - Also one must factor into this equation, into all this, how extraordinarily easy it would be for essentially any random guy to seduce Ayumu due to how vulnerable and in need of love she is. Not as in tricking her into sex (she isn't the fool some make her out to be, nor the fool she comes off as occasionally) but rather the exact opposite: she would agree to a relationship with just about any guy out of the blue because she craves love and emotional support and would also, due to that, as it would give her love combined with pleasure and simultaneously provide a (for her especially so, but this applies to unattractive women in general) powerful form of validation (as in she isn't unwanted trash), agree to the relationship precisely because she knows it would lead to sex (so there'd be no need at all for tricking her into it). And she's of course vulnerable as - it's only natural - she thinks of herself as very unattractive (an expression of which is how she's saddened by not having huge tits like Sakaki) and as she's physically weak and slow and looked down on by others. Things that cause her low self-esteem. Because of that, she's extra much in need of love and affection. And that's not even factoring in the past abuse, nor the bullying she suffered. Tying into this is how, for whatever reasons (most likely the abuse), she's in a disturbing way overly drawn towards anything that makes her feel good. Keyword being overly - all people are drawn to things which make them feel good, but in her case it's excessive and weird and borders on addiction-like behavior (and sometimes gives the impression she's escaping and shielding herself). That aspect of her contributes towards the risk of her becoming unhealthily addicted to sex and ending up letting herself be used in that way - just because it makes her feel good. That's in contrast extremely unlikely to happen to the others.
