Gonna have to disagree with you here Zack. Wife and I think It's a solid anime series. And manga. There's a reason why the manga series beat the entire US comic book industry back in like 2020. Now that the final movie is out it's a major hit. And I'm glad it's a hit.
"Different strokes for different boats."
This was honestly a great movie, lots of people worked hard on it and it earned its money. I get how people can feel about anime but dismissing it is like dismissing a huge chunk of story telling influence, and amazing eastern folklore and mythology. A HUGE look-over for some people but hey ️
Sorry, Zach. You are waaay off-base here. It certainly is a mature story. Yes, there is some "babyish shit" that is an insult to my brain as a fully functional adult but shows like Tokyo Ghoul, Black Lagoon, Beserk, Death Note, Attack On Titan, Bleach, Jujutsu Kaisen, Demon Slayer, Chainsaw Man, etc, are geared towards an older audience. Anime and Manga has really gone mainstream since I started watching and reading all those years ago with fans providing the subtitles and translations, sharing with other fans. Netflix has reported that "more than 50 percent of its members — amounting to over 150 million households, or an estimated 300 million viewers — now watch anime. The company says anime viewership on the platform has tripled over the past five years."
I'm not really getting the "babyish" thing, it's an artistic style, no more weird than some of the French comics you like. A comparison- 499 was a pretty hard sell because of its art, still a good story but Narwhal's art isn't for everyone, just like how this style of anime might not be for you.
Hell, a mainstream example is Beavis and Butthead, I find the art ugly, it's storylines braindead- it is beloved by millions and has defined a generation of pop culture.
Bro it's so good, watch it and then judge. And actually watch it, with this show you have to stick it out. By the end of the second season you'll have the "ahhha" moment where you realize American comics are way way behind considering this is scene for scene with the Manga
That's Demon Slayer, my son likes it.
It's about a kid trying to cure his little sister of being a demon while hunting for the one who turned her.
It's not bad for a show meant for pre-teens however adults stuck watching it with their children will glance over at the clock hoping bedtime comes. If you want a good introduction to Anime as an adult, I recommend checking out the original Cowboy Bebop.
Now if you want the stuff the school shooter is into, you gotta watch Pokemon.
Zack on point as always. Also you should re-upload your review for the trailer of The Final Reckoning. I really liked your analysis of it and would re-watch it a lot I'm sad it's not on your channel anymore it was
my favorite video of
yours!
This is the anime equivalent of people who unironically say “I love parties!” if someone asks, “do you party?”
Telling people you watch this series and SAO… is like answering “Squirrel Girl” without missing a beat, when asked “who is your favorite superhero?”
You’re gonna get looked at.
Not those titles tho. Not by me.
I like a lot of things coming out lately but i dont see a reason to hate on anime for younger audiences, i remember this was popular but never really clicked with me, not really sure on the hate tho? Stuff like steel ball run, jujutsu kaisen coming up is more adult along with the next cyberpunk series when ever it comes.
I watched 7 episodes because of the hype.
Not great.
Tastiest Dungeon was actually fun, though.
Please, if you are not an anime fan like me; there's 1 true masterpiece movie everyone must see.
Rouroni Kenshin: Trust, and Betrayal.
It's the 2 part story of a child assassin. Watch in Japanese with English subtitles. The English dub is ass.
The 1st 10 minutes alone will show you what anime could be if people were willing to stay grounded, and show a story with actual grit.
As someone who tried, but couldn't get into it: it's just another anime.
There are plenty more out there with better art-styles and more interesting plots, but this one really clicked with people. I don't get it, but to each their own.
Yea, i never got into demon slayer. I am a teacher, and my students know i like anime. They told me to watch. I was not a fan. I get why they like it. Not my cup of tea
I didn't like this show at all. The main character is too perfect, and his companions are just constantly yelling. It got super annoying After a few episodes.
