Navratri, one of the most significant Hindu festivals, is celebrated with devotion to honour Goddess Durga. However, a recent incident at a popular garba venue in Vadodara, Gujarat, has sparked controversy. A video showing an NRI couple kissing at the United Way Garba grounds went viral, drawing criticism from the event management and social media users, many of whom demanded strict action.

The couple, originally from Vadodara and Anand but now residing in Australia, not only shocked festival attendees but also ignited discussions about respecting cultural and religious traditions. In response to the backlash, they acknowledged their mistake, submitted a written apology to the Atladra Police, and returned to Australia following the complaint.

The video shows the man, Pratik Patel from Manjalpur, lifting his wife and kissing her in front of the crowd at the garba venue. According to Deccan Herald, police confirmed that the couple is legally married, has been living in Melbourne for 16 years and are parents of two children.

As per a Police Inspector, “They submitted in writing that the place where they kissed was a sacred site during Navratri. They have apologised, stating that they should not have done that. They are locals but have been living in Australia. They have been married for 16 years and have children."

A social media user criticising the couple wrote, “This is why the demand for condoms increases during Navratri."

Festive condom demand refers to the spike in condom sales in India, particularly around special occasions like New Year’s Eve and Navratri.

Was The Muffin Man A ‘Murderer’? This Video Exposes Chilling Roots Of Nursery Rhymes

A viral video claimed nursery rhymes like The Muffin Man and Jack and Jill hide gruesome histories, from serial killers to royal beheadings.

A video spreading across social media is giving childhood poems (rhymes) a chilling rewrite, digging into the so-called “hidden truths" behind classics like The Muffin Man, Jack and Jill, and Baa Baa Black Sheep. Viewers can’t stop watching – or freaking out. The clip opens with a cheery title card, then quickly drops into something darker.

First up: The Muffin Man. According to the narrator, the rhyme isn’t just about baked goods in Victorian London. He ties it to a man named Frederick Linwood, who he claims used muffins to lure children in London’s Drury Lane before killing them. “What sounds like a cheerful nursery rhyme for kids is actually a dark story hiding behind a tasty treat," the voice says. Cue the internet’s collective shudder.

Watch it here:

From there, it only gets more twisted. Jack and Jill, the video explains, have long been interpreted as two kids fetching water. But the viral post points to the French Revolution – with Jack symbolising King Louis XVI, who “broke his crown" when he was beheaded, and Jill representing Marie Antoinette, executed not long after. Fans in the comments called it “the creepiest history lesson ever."

The last stop in the one-minute reel is Baa Baa Black Sheep. Instead of a cute farm jingle, the story traces back to a 13th-century wool tax under King Edward I. According to the clip, the “three bags full" weren’t for a shepherd at all, but for the king, the church, and the nobles – leaving little for ordinary families.

Whether every claim holds up historically is another debate. But the mash-up of nursery rhymes and grim backstories has been enough to rack up thousands of views and comments. Parents, teachers, and history buffs are joining in, some calling it eye-opening, others dismissing it as “clickbait horror dressed as folklore" in the comments. “Seriously? How did we end up singing about this kind of stuff as if it was cute?" asked a person.

“Nursery rhymes and fairy tales have always been very dark," pointed a user.

Still, the video is having its moment. Childhood singalongs – now rebranded as nightmare stories – are turning into Instagram’s latest obsession.

“I knew it. And I appreciate you coming today," the staff member says. He asks whether the car requires premium fuel, and after confirming, he bows his head in acknowledgment. Every action that follows is carried out with precision and care.

Using a cloth, he opens the fuel tank to prevent any spillage. He then carefully handles the nozzle, filling the car fully while the camera pans over the spotless gas station, showing it to be spacious and orderly.

Once the tank is full, he secures the nozzle and closes the fuel cap with the same attention to cleanliness and care. Returning to the driver, he expresses gratitude once again and asks which direction he intends to go, ensuring the car can safely merge into traffic. He looks both ways, confirms the road is clear, and only then allows the Lexus to drive off smoothly.

Tinder scams are not exactly an uncommon thing. A similar case from Bengaluru has gone viral on social media, but with a twist. This time, it was a girl who fell prey to the dating app scam.

A Reddit user said she matched with a guy on the Bumble dating app. The guy claimed to be from Fiji and was in India to do a Management course, the user said, adding that the guy seemed to be of genuine intentions.

The duo agreed on a nice date at a Bengaluru cafe, but when it was time to pay the bill, the guy was nowhere to be found. “The chat was nice and we decided to meet at “SkyDeck by Sherlock’s" at MG Road. The date went nice but when it came to paying, he disappeared in the name of going down to buy cigarettes. Eventually, I had to pay for everything we had ordered," the woman said.

“What is fishy is that all the waiters of this restaurant knew him whenever he called anyone. The restaurant staff also stared at me quite a few times," she wrote. In a comment, she said the guy blocked her from all social media platforms and confessed that his personal details that he gave me was all a made up story.

The woman’s story surprised many users, as usually men were trapped in such scams. “It’s a known scam happening in Delhi and Bengaluru But I didn’t assume a male also would do this, and I didn’t expect a female would so easily go for a date with. Random guy!" a user said.

“Men dominating women dominated field," another person commented. A third individual advised the women not to rush meeting a guy without properly knowing him online. “More reasons to not get any dates in Bangalore, including the ones which I already have," read one more comment.

While replying to a user, the woman said she felt bad about being “exploited", and although paying the bill was not an issue, she would be more cautious and paranoid while going on future dates.

The woman moved to an entire new city for an internship, but was fired on her second day

In a heart-wrenching incident, an Indian woman was fired only two days after starting her internship in Germany, despite relocating for the new opportunity. Identified as Kaajal Tekwani, the woman, in a video shared online, she shared her ordeal and revealed that she successfully completed all rounds of interviews, and was even offered an accommodation in Munich.

“Imagine moving cities for a new internship and then getting fired within just 2 days. Yep, that’s happened to me. They seemed super happy with my work. We went on rounds of negotiations, and they were offering me accommodation in Munich. Everything seemed fine," she said.

According to the woman, she started her internship on August 15, after working remotely for two weeks. He then recalled receiving rude messages in the name of feedback.

“The founder came and told me that he thinks there is an issue with my attitude and I lack some fire or something. And then, I was like okay. I don’t know, I started receiving rude messages in the name of feedback," Tekwani said in the video.

While things were fine for Tekwani on Day 1, she reached her office a few minutes late on the second day as she was suffering from an eye infection. While she had informed her team about it, she was terminated on the same evening.

“They gave me reasons – one is that I am not a team fit. Second is that they expected somebody with more senior knowledge and expertise. For an intern role, alright, but you have figured that out during the interview. The third reason was that I am not punctual because I was late in the first two days," said Tekwani, who is now back in Berlin.

She further warned people for relocating immediately for a startup, and added,"Don’t immediately relocate for a startup, especially if they are not paying you what you deserve, because if the pay is peanuts and you can see red flags from the beginning, just don’t do this. It’s not worth it."

Social Media Reaction

Her post went viral, garnering several reactions from netizens.

“Stay strong! Shit Happens! It happened to me too. A Company said we are transfering you to a new city but later got an email we can’t because we are voll," one user commented.

Another wrote,"I had the same experience and it is a big well renounced institute in Germany. Even if you have contract, things are very unpredictable for international students I feel."

A third wrote,"Faced a similar issuse in Germany-cleared two rounds of the interview for a PhD position and relocated from India- and in one month, I was told I was not a good fit as in I did not have the skill set they were looking for-Duh! I was willing to learn and they did interview me-TWICE! was huge blow and thankfully, was lucky enough to get another position in trouble months. Phew!"
