Male Injured Following Assault In Dockyard

A man sustained a head injury following an assault in the Dockyard area.
“Upon arrival, officers located one male victim who had sustained a head injury. He was transported to King Edward Memorial Hospital for treatment. The severity of his injury is unknown at this time.
“The circumstances surrounding the assault remain unclear, and investigations are ongoing.

The police held a press conference today [Aug 11] to provide updates on multiple investigations, including a man being charged in Court in connection with the death of 71-year-old James Burgess following an incident in the city of Hamilton, a shooting in Southampton that resulted in a 19-year-old man receiving a gunshot wound to the leg after the “lone gunman indiscriminately shot at the crowd” and the death of a man in Pembroke which is currently being treated as “suspicious.”

A police spokesperson said, “At 9:15 PM on Sunday, June 8, 2025, polapproximatelyice and other emergency services were dispatched to a report of an assault that occurred in a Dockyard area, near the ferry terminal. The Bermuda Police Service identified the victims of the fatal shooting in Sandys as 32-year-old Jasmine Smith and 29-year-old Shaquan Williams.
A police spokesperson said, “The Bermuda Police Service [BPS] can now confirm the identities of the two people who succumbed to injuries sustained in the shooting incident which took place inside the Legends bar, Sandys, around 10:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, 2025.
“They are, 32-year-old, Jasmine Smith and 29-year-old, Shaquan Williams.
“The BPS extends condolences the families of the deceased.
“The investigation regarding this incident is ongoing and the BPS is grateful to those persons who have already come forward to assist with inquiries

Police: Double Murder Investigation Ongoing

The Bermuda Police Service’s Serious Crime Unit is continuing to investigate the 2024 double murder of Amon Robinson and Razi Garland.
Acting Detective Chief Inspector Kenten Trott said, “Detectives of the Serious Crime Unit continue to investigate the double murder of Razi Garland and Amon Robinson, who were fatally shot in the Fort Scaur area, Sandys, at approximately 6:05am on Wednesday, 10th July, 2024.
“Razi was 18-years-old at the time of this tragic incident. Amon was 19-years-old.
