I truly feel so bad about this whole luminara vtuber tourney. This is the second time they do not properly vet teams and their members. This is the same thing that happened last time, and actively swapping out your vtubers to non vtubers/non creators at the last minute is insane and wildly against the given rules.
Also seeing how staff talked badly about some of the participants and how many of them were not respected or even treated correctly is only going to shoot your credibility down. Rhyme wasn’t even given their pngs despite proving it according to screen shots and on 2 separate occasions was given random pngs that had nothing to do with them at all.
When I joined last time there were SEVERAL teams that had more non vtubers that actual ones (whether it be png, premade, or their own) and swapped out vtubers for the latter. Swap in should only ever take place if the main roster members have any extenuating circumstances not for your ease of winning and it is a VERY common place rule in team based comp scenes that if you swap out the swap out is permanent for the rest of the event.
As much as I want to give props to Camana and team for running another event for rivals, internally it can be seen (especially to me as esports has been my back ground for almost 2 decades I.e ORG ownership and event running) they just want to host an event for the enjoyment of the game but at the detriment of the participants. All this was brought up to them all of tournament the first time, and the exact same problems happened again. Either restructuring and amend your rules and be stricter/vigilant on vetting or bring someone in that can do it for you correctly.
As someone that was a a strong competitor for FGs back in the day and managed/owned several esports teams and ran events I know how seemingly impossible it is to flawlessly run tourneys. I love rivals and I love that we have someone in the vtuber space willing to take time and effort to do it, but I think they need someone that can properly assist in doing this if they plan to in the future.
TLDR:
A Vtubers brand/image/name is everything to them especially for those on the bigger side. If they bring it up and provide you the resources to market them and showcase them correctly respect it and use it don’t get defensive and make light of it.
A tourneys rules and regulations are law, skirting them and self interpretation should be handled accordingly and dealt with. If you want to make it that each team can have up to 2 non Vtubers fine but ENFORCE it and have a team that vets each participant. Swap in traditionally are permanent and for emergent situations ONLY. Seeing how they swapped someone last minute with a 3rd non Vtuber should have just disqualified them based on the rules alone.
A level of decorum and sportsmanlike behavior is needed, yea I shit talk a lot but in a tourney scene to be actively shitting talking and verbally bullying your opponents is disrespectful beyond shit talking banter and behavior. Some of these screen shots are just HEINOUS.
Seeing how once again a team with members in OAA and exceeding point distribution for members but being allowed regardless should have already been a red flag.
This is just my 2 cents as a previous participation from last event and someone with career/player history in this type of scene and environment.

I'm happy to have placed second in the VTuberRivals Tournament, but I was disrespected as a whole for the entirety of the tournament. I don't know if anybody else had to deal with this, but I gave @LuminaraLegacy my png when I joined Team Unemployed. When they announced the teams
