One big step? Steam. It’s only the biggest PC and MacOS game store on the planet.

With Habbo Hotel: Origins set to launch on Steam later this year, we’re asking both long-time Origins players and the wider Habbo community to add the game to their Steam wishlists. Because it helps a lot with visibility and who could pass up on a big community effort?

🦆 Win Steam Powered Ducks on X

We’re running a series of giveaways for a brand-new Steam Powered Duck on the Habbo Hotel: Origins X account!

How to enter:

• Wishlist Habbo Hotel: Origins on Steam.
• Reply to the giveaway post on X with a screenshot of the Steam Store page showing you’ve wishlisted the game, and the #HabboHotelOrigins hashtag.
• Make sure you are following @HabboOrigins.

Community goal & rewards:

• To unlock the first 50x duck giveaway, we need to get to 500 wishlists on Steam.
• Once that milestone is hit, we’ll give away 50 ducks to eligible players who replied to the giveaway post with a screenshot.
• At 1000 wishlists, we’ll give away another 50.
• At 1500 wishlists, another 50.
• And so on… (every extra 500 = more ducks!)

We'll be running this giveaway indefinitely depending on how many wishlists we get and how quickly. We'll send winners of each giveaway stage voucher codes as we progress!

Prize and winners information:

• Winners will get one voucher code sent to them, which can be redeemed for a Steam Powered Duck in either Origins or Habbo. It cannot be redeemed in both games, so make sure you choose the right one!
• The Steam Powered Duck will not be sold in either game, though it might be given out again in the future.

Step 1: Link to Steam

• Register a new Habbo Hotel: Origins account via Steam OR;
• Connect your existing Origins account to Steam (see FAQ section below for instructions on how to do this).

ℹ️ Steam FAQs

When will you launch Habbo Hotel: Origins on Steam?

We expect to launch in mid to late October, or early November.

Do I need a Steam account to play, or can I log in with an existing Origins account?

You do need a Steam account to play and you need Steam installed on your computer. However, you’ll be able to connect your existing Habbo Hotel: Origins account to your Steam account. (See below.)

How can I connect my existing Origins account to Steam to get the Steam Machine Plaque and the new InfoStand Nameplate?

First, you’ll need to be logged into your Steam account and have the Steam app open on your computer. After that, navigate to the Habbo Hotel: Origins page in Steam, and launch the game from there. After that, login as usual with your email and password. You’ll be asked for confirmation you want to link your account to Steam before it’s confirmed.

Bear in mind that in order to get the plaque, you’ll need to also do some other things inside the Hotel (see above article for requirements).

Can I purchase items in-game in the same way as I can when I launch Habbo Hotel: Origins from the launcher?

Yes, item purchasing doesn’t change – you’ll still use your credits and Stamps to buy items in-game. However, if you’re playing Origins via Steam, when you try to buy Habbo Club membership or credits, you’ll pay for them via Steam – the game window will show a Steam prompt confirming that you want to buy.

Will credits and HC cost the same if I buy them while playing Habbo Hotel: Origins using Steam?

Almost exactly the same, yes. Prices may vary very slightly between Steam and our webshop based on how Steam converts different currencies.

Can I use Steam Wallet funds to purchase credits and HC?

Yes.

Can I play Habbo Hotel: Origins on my Steam Deck?

While this will work, there could be significant compatibility issues given the game is primarily played with keyboards.

Will there be Steam Achievements or Trading Cards?

On launch, no.

Are there Steam-exclusive items or launch rewards?

Yes! Read above to find out how you can get a free Steam Machine Plaque and the new InfoStand Nameplate. There are also lots of things going on for Habboween, which runs during October, and the actual launch of Steam.
