The Wata-SHIGA Shining Para-Sports Rehearsal Tournament was held! In preparation for the "Wata-SHIGA Shining Para-Sports," rehearsal tournaments (14 events in total) were held at 15 venues in the prefecture over two days, May 24th and 25th! The athletes demonstrated the results of their daily practice and thrilled the venue with their heated play. On Sunday, May 4th, the Shinoda Fireworks were held at Shinoda Shrine in Ueda-cho, Omihachiman City. The Shinoda Fireworks are also registered in the cultural program of the tournament, and are made by kneading a board with Japanese gunpowder made from a mixture of sulfur, saltpeter, and paulownia ash using a traditional technique that is now rare, and then setting off a trick fireworks display with a picture drawn on it. The trick fireworks are created by deciding on a theme from a topic each year and considering and creating a design, and this year, Caffy's design emerged in the evening darkness.
