Police have arrested three people as part of an investigation into heroin and meth supply across the Hunter Region.

In July 2025, Hunter Region Enforcement Squad officers began Strike Force Dukin to look into the supply of illicit drugs in the region.
At about 9am on Wednesday, September 17, officers searched two homes in Birmingham Gardens and Warath West.
Police allegedly found 900 grams of heroin, 110 grams of methylamphetamine, 180 millilitres of GBL and $88,520 in cash during their search.
A 35-year-old man and woman were arrested at the Waratah West property and taken to Newcastle police station.
During the arrest, the woman allegedly assaulted a police officer; however, they were uninjured.
Officers also stopped a motorcycle in the Mayfield area with a search of the rider, allegedly revealing 3.5 grams of methylamphetamine and $2500 in cash.
The 54-year-old male rider was arrested and taken to Waratah police station.
He was charged with two counts of supplying a prohibited drug (more than indictable quantity), two counts of possessing a prohibited drug, supplying a prohibited drug (greater than commerical quantity), recklessley dealing with proceeds of crime (less than $5000), and knowingly dealing with proceeds of crime.
The 35-year-old woman was charged with three counts of possessing a prohibited drug, hindering or resisting a police officer in the execution of their duty, assaulting a police officer in the execution of their duty without actual bodily harm, possession or use of a prohibited weapon without a permit, and supplying a prohibited drug (greater than commercial quantity).
The 35-year-old man was charged by virtue of an outstanding warrant for drug and weapon offences.
All three were refused bail to appear before the Bail Division of the Local Court 2 on Thursday, September 18.
