Three things can be true:
1. Kimmel was losing money for the network/affiliates so ABC seized on this to oust him.
2. There was thus no govt coercion here, let alone the tech-govt collusion of the Biden years.
3. FCC statements were unhelpful because makes it look like threat of govt action for bad viewpoints.
