Get your child in front of doctors.  Sign the parental release.  Make sure she gets the care she needs.

The doctors are going to take this seriously and won't put up with your wife's bullshit once you sign the papers.

Sorry you're going through this.  I hope your daughter is ok.

If you are legally married and both share custody she cannot say you are fleeing with the child as you have every right to have the child with you. The cases you hear about on the news those are parents who have broken custody agreements or do not have primary custody.

Get your child to the doctor immediately.

I'd imagine the bigger legal issue would be not getting the vaccine in this case.

Rabies isn't curable. If you do not get vaccines, and your daughter starts to show symptoms, to put it bluntly she's dead. At that point, its too late to start treatment, so you just get to watch your daughter die of something that could've been prevented.

And, it's a horrible way to die. Can't imagine the wife objecting. Maybe educate her on what happens to a person as they die from rabies.

For what is is worth, medical professionals are allowed to override parent decisions for lifesaving treatment for children. Even if your wife attempted to dispute treatment, the medical professionals have legal grounds to ignore her and proceed with treatment.

Do not wait, head straight to the nearest ER.

I work with rabies testing on a daily basis including on raccoons and I want to strongly urge you to contact your local animal control (or the appropriate authority in Texas) as soon as possible regarding the raccoon you killed. They can collect the carcass and send it for rabies testing. Time is critical, as there’s only a limited window during which a definitive test can be done. Even if it turns out the animal was negative, having that laboratory report creates a clear paper trail confirming that your daughter was bitten by a wild animal and that you acted appropriately out of genuine concern for her health. This could be important later if there are legal or custody disputes, particularly if someone tries to argue that the incident never happened or that you overreacted.

If your child doesn’t get it asap, they’re going to die a very painful, messy death for no reason other than pure stupidity and ignorance. You’re taking your child for emergency care to save their life, there’s nothing illegal about that at all.

Get her treatment immediately, if your wife tries to stop you she is an idiot who wants your daughter to die. This is not optional.

You cannot kidnap your own child that you have full custody of as in this case. Each parent has full power to initiate most treatments alone as well.

Call animal control to have them pick up the carcass. Hopefully, it isn't too late to test. Ask them what you should do to keep it fresh until they come.

Take your daughter immediately to seek medical help. Sign whatever you have to sign. Get the vaccinations started. It's a series of shots over multiple days. Raccoons are one of the top carriers next to bats, skunks, foxes, and coyotes.

If your wife calls the cops let the hospital handle it. Otherwise, let her be mad if she wants to be mad. After all is done, contact a lawyer and start divorce proceedings and fight for full custody. Your wife is willing to let your child die a slow and extremely painful death because of her own irrational fear of vaccines. There is zero chance of her living without the shots, 100% do not let your child die because she is negligent.

The hospital should contact the CDC but ask them to be sure. This is absolutely the most important thing in your life right now. Do not wait. Do not argue. You need to go!

Your daughter will literally die an awful death if she gets rabies. Do whatever you need to do to ensure she’s vaccinated immediately.

I would also say if you and your wife allow her death to happen, it was proved you knew rabies exposure happened and you did nothing then you could also go to jail.

I would take her for treatment and seriously consider filing for divorce. Someone this misguided couldn't be my life-partner
