A member of the Woodbridge Hells Angels was arrested in Hamilton, charged with breaching his bail by living outside the Barrie area without permission.
Steven (Tiger) Lindsay, 47, had been free pending a hearing in the Ontario Court of Appeal later this month. He and another gang member were convicted in June 2005 of extorting a Barrie-area entrepreneur and committing the crime “in association” with a criminal organization, the Hells Angels.
The trial drew national headlines and became a test case for Canada’s beefed up anti-gang laws. Superior Court Justice Michele Fuerst’s found the Hells Angels was a criminal organization, leaving the convicted pair open to longer terms of imprisonment.

No one suggested that the $75,000 Lindsay attempted to extract from the victim was destined for the Hells Angels’ coffers but that his showing up at the victim’s house in full gang regalia was intended to frighten the victim.
Lindsay was sentenced to four years for the extortion and an extra two years on the anti-gang charge. He was arrested earlier this week at a residence at Fruitland Road and Arvin Avenue in Stoney Creek.
