ANTIFA was originated before WWII. They were organized during the Spanish Civil War, the preface to WWII. The fascist group, which included Germany, Italy, and the eventual President of Spain Tito. ANTIFA included USSR, England, France, and individual's from the USA. So when DJT said they were being attack by ANTIFA in his first term, he was admitting that he was a Fascist.

I have been an anti-fascist since childhood when my father came home from the Pacific theater after making 5 D-Day landings. Anti fascists are now terrorists, Trump and his cult followers are closer to their end goals than most people realise. Shutting down TV programs that do not conform with Trumps agenda (Kimmel and numerous well credentialed journalists) I suspect there will be more than turmoil at the next election if one is ever held. I think that the current incarnation of atifa has very little in common with the republicans in Spain, or the actual soldiers who won the war in Europe.

It's important to remember that fighting fascists in the WWII era was done in wartime and in resistance to oppression. It didn't involve aggressive violence against fascists exercising their constitutional right to free speech. Such violence is itself fascist in character and undermines free speech more generally. It has no place on the democratic left.

I was a high school student from 1967/71; just for reference. Sometime, (probably 67’ or 68’) I recall a ‘situation’’ from a health class!!
