We call ourselves Hindus

Uplifting
r/IndianFocus - We call ourselves Hindus

We call ourselves Hindus, yet we close our eyes to the truth. We pour milk on Shiv Linga and into the Ganga, believing it to be an offering. But today, that milk is no longer sacred — it is born of exploitation. Calves are separated, mothers are abused, and their suffering fills every drop. This is not milk. It is the blood and tears of our Gau Mata. If we truly honor dharma, let us stop this blind ritual and instead protect and serve the living cows. That is the real abhishek, the real seva to Lord Shiva. Stop the cruelty. Open your eyes. Protect Gau Mata.

Dharma applies to all animals and not just cows.

How many people are ready to give up milk? Are they gonna take it.out themselves? How are you supposed to satisy the whole countries demand. These concepts are great in a temple and not actually applicable in real life in 2025

I agree that dharma applies to all animals, but in temples, we use cow milk. Temples are meant to be places of purity and dharma. If milk today is produced through violence and exploitation, then temples must set the example by stopping its use in rituals. Let’s start with ourselves first. Change has to come in you to see change in others
