A Kentuckian is making moves across the entertainment industry. Abigail Killmeier, also known as Abigail Fierce, is an Oldham County native who is taking on the silver screen and the indie music scene.

Abigail attributes her musical style to a combination of 2010’s singer-songwriters and 1990’s grunge musicians. Electric guitars and storytelling lyrics are signature in her sound.
“I’m very lyric driven,” she said. “Sometimes I’ll just write pages of lyrics and then come back and try to save it. It’s inspired by those moments with people where maybe you’re ignoring the red flags.”
Abigail’s talents in songwriting have earned her recognition in both national and international contests. She’s also versed in many instruments. She plays every instrument in her songs except for the drums.
While her musical skill has earned her acclaim, that’s not why she moved across the country from Kentucky to California. Abigail and her family originally moved to Los Angeles so that she could pursue an acting career.
“I kind of started doing a little bit of theatre stuff,” she explained. “When I was in middle school, we came out here for a spring break and I did a little showcase thing. I got a manager and an agent through that. My mom was like ‘Well, if you’re good enough to do that, then maybe we can actually try this.’ So we came out for a couple of months at a time, and then it eventually became full time.”
Since then, Abigail has taken on the role of Wendy in “Love, Victor,” Joanie the babysitter in NBC’s “This Is Us,” and more.
Her next role will put her on the big screen, as she performs in “Skillhouse,” a horror-satire film produced by 50 Cent. The movie is about the dark side of influencer culture and the danger of everybody wanting to be famous. The film also stars a number of internet celebrities including Bryce Hall and Hannah Stocking.
“It’s very fun,” Abigail said. “I think young people who maybe follow these influencers will like seeing them. People who don’t like influencers will like seeing these outrageous characters getting slashed. I think there’s something in it for everyone. My mom’s a bit of a scaredy cat about horror movies but she really enjoyed it. She said it wasn’t too scary for her.”
Hopkins County residents with interest in seeing the satirical slasher movie can stop by the Golden Ticket Cinema in Parkway Plaza Mall. The movie will be available beginning July 10. Abigail’s new single is available on Youtube, Spotify, and Apple Music.
