Korean Woman Paralyzed After Being Stabbed in the Neck in Her Store

March 9, 2022

LONG BEACH, California—Authorities are searching for an African-American man who stabbed the owner of Frank’s Liquor in the neck multiple times Sunday morning on January 30, 2022.

The attack left 65-year-old Yongja Lee paralyzed from the neck down and unable to speak. She and her husband were on the verge of retirement, according to the LA Times.

According to the Long Beach Police Department, Lee’s attacker is described as an African-American male, about 6’2” tall, weighing about 200 pounds, with brown eyes. The suspect fled the scene toward the 900 block of East Broadway.

Surveillance footage from Frank’s Liquor showed the suspect walk up to Lee, who had her hands “raised protectively.” After a short exchange, the assailant stabbed Lee at the base of her neck.

Sadly, attacks like these are not uncommon in downtown Long Beach, which experiences a higher rate of violence because of the African-American demographic.

“We’re investigating the crime like we do all the others,” said Richard Mejia, a spokesman for the Long Beach Police Department. Detectives are not currently treating it as a hate crime, he added.

The recent wave of anti-Asian violence and this year being the 30th anniversary of the L.A. riots won’t be helping things. African-Americans specifically targeted the Korean-American community and many in the Asian community have not forgotten or forgiven.

Decades earlier, the African-Americans burned out the Jewish business owners during the Watts riots in 1965. The Korean-Americans were simply filling a void—the basic principles of economics—which the African-American community was unable to comprehend.

Kevin Voravong—who lives in the same building Frank’s Liquor occupies—started a GoFundMe page in support of Lee. The page has currently raised over $35,000 with a $50,000 goal.

“She’s awesome, man,” Voravang said. “Just the nicest, sweetest lady.”

Voravang stated Lee’s kindness to him over the years inspired him to help. He lived in the building since the Lees moved in and remembers how generous the couple has been to him, reports the Long Beach Business Journal.

“She would be cooking dinner, and me and my friend Andrew would go downstairs to get snacks and a beer, and she would say ‘Wait, wait,’ and go to the back,” Voravong recalled. “She would go back there for two minutes and would come back out with the most delicious Korean food. Rice, cabbage, kimchi, pork. It’s just amazing.”

Voravang continued to explain the couple puts in long hours at the store and works hard to keep the establishment running smoothly.

“They open that shop at 10 a.m. and then would be there until 10, 10:30 at night. So they are there like clockwork, working so hard just trying to cover their rent,” Voravong said.

“We are crushed that this happened to her. It’s just unbelievable.”

LBPD is requesting anyone with information about the stabbing to contact the department’s Violent Crimes Detail at 562-570-7250 or submit an anonymous tip to LA Crime Stoppers at 800-222-8477 or by visiting lacrimestoppers.org.

Asian Man Attacked by a Black Shemale on NYC Subway

March 9, 2022

NEW YORK CITY—The most progressive city in the world is proving that title wrong on an hourly basis. An African-American shemale wearing a wig and purple lipstick clobbered an Asian man with a hammer on a New York City subway platform.

An Asian couple was at the 14th St. station when one of them accidentally bumped into the shemale suspect. Both parties exchanged words, which turned into a full-blown argument.

The suspect—who resembles the late singer Prince—pulled out a hammer and hit the 29-year-old Asian male victim in the head. The shemale then fled the scene to possibly purify itself in the waters of Lake Minnetonka…..

The violent attack is being investigated as a hate crime by the police.

Footage of the attack

The 29-year-old victim remained conscious and was taken to Bellevue Hospital, where his condition is described as stable.

The suspect is described as a tall African-American male about 6’2”, wearing a wig, purple lipstick, blue jeans, red shoes to match his metrosexual red jacket, and carrying a tote bag/purse.

Footage of the attack shows the suspect pulling out a hammer from his purse and saying: “Why you hit me?” before attacking the victim. “Why the f**k you hit me?”

New York City has seen a huge rise in anti-Asian hate crimes, with police figures showing a 343 percent rise the last few years.

The Illegal Annexation of Hawaii by the United States

March 9, 2022

HAWAII—The first known settlers of the Hawaiian Islands were Asiatic Polynesian voyagers who arrived sometime in the 8th century. In the early 18th century the first American traders came to Hawaii to exploit the islands’ sandalwood, which was extremely valued in China at the time.

In the 1830s, the sugar industry was introduced to Hawaii and would later be well established by the mid-19th century. American missionaries and planters dramatically changed Hawaiian political, cultural, and economic life, according to History.

By 1840 a new constitutional monarchy was established, stripping Hawaiian King Kalakaua of much of his authority.

Within the next 40 years, Hawaii entered into a number of political and economic treaties with the United States and in 1887, a U.S. naval base was established at Pearl Harbor as part of the new Hawaiian constitution.

However, Hawaiians began regretting their decision as incoming Americans were treating the Hawaiians as 3rd class citizens in their own islands—2nd class citizens were Asian immigrants.

American sugar planters gained a tremendous amount of power as sugar exports to the United States grew exponentially. In 1891, Liliuokalani, the sister of the late King Kalakaua, ascended to the Hawaiian throne and refused to recognize the 1887 constitution, and decided to replace it with one that increased her personal authority.

Queen Liliuokalani of Hawaii

In January 1893, a revolutionary “Committee of Safety” led by Sanford B. Dole, staged a coup against Queen Liliuokalani with a contingent of 300 U.S. Marines from the American cruiser Boston to “protect American lives.”

Queen Liliuokalani was arrested by American forces and stripped of her royal title and forced to give up any future claims to the Hawaiian throne under duress. She was then put on military trial in her own throne room. She was convicted, fined $5,000, stripped of her civil rights for “treason,” and sentenced to five years in prison with hard labor.

On February 1, 1893, U.S. minister to Hawaii, John L. Stevens proclaimed Hawaii a U.S. protectorate with Dole submitting a treaty of annexation to the U.S. Senate.

Queen Liliuokalani’s five-year hard labor prison sentence was reduced to imprisonment in an upstairs bedroom of her own palace for eight months. She was given a full pardon, once the United States secured Hawaii as a territory.

President Grover Cleveland sent a new U.S. minister to Hawaii to restore Queen Liliuokalani to the throne under the old 1887 constitution, but Dole refused to step aside and proclaimed his new government the independent Republic of Hawaii, according to History.

President Cleveland refused to use force to overthrow Dole and let the situation play out. Cleveland’s successor, President William McKinley, negotiated a treaty with the Republic of Hawaii in 1897.

However, the Spanish Empire broke America’s Monroe Doctrine policy, which states no European power can have any kind of hold in the Western Hemisphere. The Western Hemisphere belongs to the United States.

In 1898, the Spanish-American War broke out and the strategic use of Pearl Harbor and a possible conquest of the Philippines from the Spanish convinced Congress to approve formal annexation. Two years later, Hawaii formally became a U.S. territory.

In 1959, Hawaii entered the United States as the 50th state.

Queen Liliuokalani was unsuccessful with every lawsuit she brought upon the United States government under the Fifth Amendment, seeking to return Hawaiian Crown Lands. However, in 1911, she was given a lifetime pension of $1,250 a month by the Territory of Hawaii.

She died on November 11, 1917, in her Washington Palace, she was 79.

Man Charged in Stabbing of Mother & Her 2 Young Sons in Philly

March 8, 2022

PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania—Police have arrested the suspect connected to a brutal attack that left a 37-year-old Asian mother and her two sons injured with multiple stab wounds on Sunday afternoon, March 6.

39-year-old Hengjian Ni of New York was arrested and charged after he turned himself in on Sunday and is being charged with three counts of attempt to commit murder, attempt to commit rape, and other related offenses, reports CBS3.

The mother of two suffered multiple stab wounds throughout her body and was taken to Frankford-Torresdale hospital, where she is currently listed in critical condition.

Authorities say the attacker also stabbed the woman’s 15-year-old son twice in the back of his head and her 10-year-old son once in the back of his head and once in his left leg. They’re both in stable condition.

According to CBS3, witnesses stated the boys were stabbed while trying to protect their mother.

“They said he was stabbing the mom and the kids came down to help and that’s how they got stabbed,” a neighbor told CBS3.

Other witnesses also stated they saw the attacker, who they said was carrying a backpack, and nonchalantly walked away after the attack, leaving the mother fighting for her life.

A few seconds later, the children told neighbors the man who attacked their mom followed them outside. They also said he was a co-worker of their mom, reports CBS3.

“I didn’t know what he was going to do, if he was going to try to attack them again,” a neighbor said. “So I said, ‘Run, run, run, inside my house.’ So we all ran inside my basement.”

The neighbor says as she was hustling the kids and herself inside, she glanced back to see if the suspect was following them.

“He just turned around, he looked at us, and just casually walked away,” she said.

New NY Board of Regents Member is Anti-Asian & Anti-White

March 8, 2022

NEW YORK CITY—Shino Tanikawa, 59, is the newest member of the state Board of Regents. She believes “toxic whiteness” is everywhere—even though she’s married to a white man and oh, she’s Japanese-American—and has a history of griping about Asian-Americans’ white-adjacent status and white privilege on social media.

Tanikawa was appointed by the state Legislature and represents Manhattan and the Bronx in the state’s top educational bureaucracy on Tuesday, March 1, according to the New York Post.

“Guess what? Toxic whiteness is EVERYWHERE in this society. Period,” she wrote in a now-deleted 2019 tweet defending then-schools chancellor Richard Carranza who implied elite schools have “too many Asians.”

Tanikawa was also former Mayor Bill de Blasio advisor on school issues. She complained about mayoral control of city schools back in 2019: “No more ‘control’—we don’t want to be controlled, especially by a white man.”

Remember, Tanikawa is married to a white man, however, tweeted in another 2019 Carranza thread: “[T]oo many Asians are aligning with the white power structure rather than being allies to our black and Latinx brothers and sisters.”

Tanikawa also tweeted the notion that “an anti-white person of color cannot be racist” is “correct” back in 2019. “You must NOT be colorblind,” reports The Post.

The State Education Department said in a statement announcing Tanikawa’s appointment—she would “empower…all students regardless of race.”

It should be noted Tanikawa’s children, now all adults, attended public schools with selective admissions, which now she opposes. It looks like once her children benefited from “meritocracy,” no other Asian-American student should anymore.

Councilman Robert Holden (D-Queens) lambasted Tanikawa’s appointment in a letter sent Friday to Senate and Assembly leadership, demanding Albany “stop” it, reports The Post.

“Not only has she made some very racist remarks — anti-white, anti-Asian remarks — some of her actions point to very radical motivations,” he told The Post. “This is a huge mistake. … There’s no reason to appoint somebody with a past like that.”

Her Name Was Queena Vuong: She Was Raped, Left Blind and Paralyzed

March 6, 2022

TAMPA, Florida—Kendrick Morris was 15 and 16 when he raped two women. One of them, 18-year-old Queena Vuong, was raped in 2008 and beaten so badly, she’s permanently blind, paralyzed, unable to talk, needs to be fed through a tube, and needs 24/7 care.

Judge Chet Tharpe sentenced Morris in 2011 to 65 years in prison, which was the maximum allowed for juveniles at the time. However, Morris was resentenced to life in prison in 2017 after Florida changed its laws and allowed judges to sentence juveniles to life for specific crimes.

“If ever there was a case that cried out for a life sentence, this is the case,” said Tharpe.

Morris’s attorney tried to knock decades off his sentence arguing Morris has a high school diploma, an above-average IQ, and an “almost” clean prison record and it was possible for him to be rehabilitated.

18-year-old Queena Vuong, a high school senior, was getting ready to graduate high school and attend college. On April 24, 2008, she drove to the library to return books. As she spoke on a cellphone with friends, she mentioned she saw a “weird guy” near the front of the library. Her friend heard screams before the line was disconnected, reports Tampa Bay Times.

As a result, the now 31-year-old Vuong is simply living to die. Her life is permanently shattered. She was raped and beaten so badly, she is permanently blind, paralyzed, unable to speak, and requires a feeding tube because she can’t swallow.

“She expresses with facial expressions and sounds, yelling out, crying,” said Queena’s sister, Anna Donato. “We forgive him and we have compassion for him but that does not mean we believe he should be out of prison.”

“It’s not a joyous moment in any sense for us. We’re still going to have to go back home and take care of Queena forever,” Donato stated shortly after Morris was sentenced to life back in 2017.

DNA linked Morris to another rape that occurred 10 months earlier. He raped a 62-year-old worker at a Clair-Mel daycare as she opened the business. Remember, Morris was 15 when he raped the 62-year-old.

Reign of Terror Ends for Residents After Anti-Asian Assault Arrest

March 6, 2022

EAST HARLEM, New York—A man who allegedly terrorized his neighbors with violent racist rants and threats for more than a year was finally arrested.

Things got so bad at 158th East 126th Street, residents called the 8th floor the “floor of terror,” according to the New York Post.

47-year-old Marlon Carr was arrested Friday morning after barricading himself inside his apartment after he assaulted his 39-year-old Asian neighbor because he was Asian, according to authorities.

“He was so angry at people because they make huge noise when they closed the door,” one of his victims told The Post.

Carr allegedly accosted a 22-year-old Chinese woman with vile and racist comments and actually charged at her outside her apartment on February 21.

“He started to yell really racist things—‘Wuhan b**ch, suck my d**ck. It was offensive. I’m Chinese, [there are] a lot of people in the building who are Chinese,” the victim stated. “I emailed the building manager and I told the front desk about this. They were trying to figure out what to do. They can’t do anything because of the law. But now that he physically attacked someone, they arrested him.”

According to The Post, the assault victim on Friday—who lives on the 5th floor—was entering the elevator when he heard a large bang, he saw Carr and asked if everything was okay.

The enraged Carr allegedly began yelling: “China-man, Wuhan b**ch. I’m glad it’s killing you.”

The building manager attempted to intervene and called the police, but not before Carr punched him in the chest. By the time police arrived, Carr had barricaded himself in his apartment for about 20 minutes.

Carr faces charges of assault as a hate crime, aggravated harassment as a hate crime, and menacing for Friday’s attack, along with charges stemming from three other alleged bigoted incidents in the building, reports The Post.

Residents who initially stayed silent came forward once police arrested the 47-year-old African-American. One building manager told authorities Carr called him a racial slur on January 17, while stepping on his foot so he couldn’t move.

A 22-year-old woman said Carr has always been hostile toward his neighbors but became especially vitriolic when the neighbors called the police on him.

According to The Post, Carr also harassed his gay 31-year-old Asian neighbor multiple times with slurs and threats.

“They called it the ‘floor of terror,’ that’s how scared these people were,” said one official. “These people were afraid to come out of their own home.”
